You’ll get a different view of Italy’s famous wonky landmark on this tour, as you see inside the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Pass by the visitors pretending to prop up the campanile in photographs, and head inside to climb the spiralling marble staircase to the top. You can see right across the skyline when you reach the viewing deck, from a spot where Galileo once stood to conduct his experiments. After you’ve snapped some pictures and soaked up the scenery, you’ll have a portion of free time to explore the surrounding gardens. The whole area’s known as Miracle Square, and plays host to other tourist favourites like Pisa Cathedral, Pisa Baptistery and the Campo Santo – a sacred site with frescoed walls and a grassy courtyard. There are plenty of souvenir stands where you can grab Leaning Tower keepsakes on your way back to the bus.
