This trip takes you to a pair of Tuscany’s best-loved cities. You’ll start by heading to Lucca, a culture-filled settlement that’s just north of the region’s capital, Pisa. A Medieval wall wraps itself around the most historic neighbourhood, which is where you’ll make your first stop. Pedestrians stroll around the top of the well-maintained battlements, and the heart of the old quarter’s home to a Gothic cathedral, the tree-topped Guinigi Tower, and a museum dedicated to Lucca’s best-known son – composer Giacomo Puccini. The second stop’s Pisa itself, where your guide will lead you on a walking tour of the city’s must-sees. Highlights include Miracle Square, which is home to the famous Leaning Tower and Pisa Cathedral. After that, you’ll have a couple of hours to shop, snack and sightsee your way around the bustling centre at your own speed.
