Time-frozen sites and tastebud-tingling food set the tone on this tour. You’ll start by making your way to one of the world’s finest archaeological treasures – the city of Pompeii. This Roman port was devastated by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, and a cloud of ash preserved the entire place until it was excavated more than a thousand years later. You’ll see near-intact streets and buildings, which draw millions of visitors every year. Once you’re done, your guide will take you to a traditional farm for a local food and drink crash course. You’ll sample fresh chunks of mozzarella, tots of zesty limoncello and classic antipasti ingredients, like tomatoes, olives and salami. Before things wrap up, your guide will take you on a brief walking tour of Sorrento’s pretty streets.
