Your taste buds will be taken on a five-course tour today, as you sample Mumbai’s top eats. First, you’ll sip masala chai – a mixed-spice tea – at the sophisticated Gaylord restaurant. Once you’re feeling fully refreshed, you’ll be on your way to the next foodie hotspot. Here, you’ll get to bite into vada pav – Mumbai’s equivalent of a veggie burger. Meat’s substituted for a potato patty, which is sandwiched between two buns. You’ll sample another fast food favourite at the next place, too. Pav bhaji – a spicy veg curry with bread – and sev puri – deep-fried bread with diced potatoes, onions and chutney, topped with crunchy chickpea noodles. And you’ll finish on something sweet, with a trip to Bachelorr’s, which churns out sweet Indian ice-cream, made with condensed milk.
There’s very little walking involved on this tour, so we’d recommend it for those with walking difficulties.
- SUITABILITY Little physical activity.
