If you prefer to explore cities under your own steam, but aren’t sure where to start, this tour’s a winner. You’ll get dropped in four top sightseeing spots around Copenhagen, with free time to explore each part. You’ll be given a map of the city, so you can plan out your day. The first stop is by the Cathedral of Copenhagen. Take a look inside, or stroll over to the City Hall Square and the Bohemian Quarters. Nytorv and Gammeltorv are nearby, too, and are home to the City Court of Copenhagen. Your second port of call is Gammel Strand. Here, you can treat yourself to some retail therapy down Stroeget, the city’s most famous shopping street, or take in the architecture around Christiansborg Castle, the Old Stock Exchange and the Naval Church. Amalienborg Royal Palace, the home of Queen Margrethe II, is the penultimate stop. You’ll have an hour to wander around here. Walk around the square in front of the palace, visit the nearby Marble Church, or head off to Nyhavn, famous for its charming old houses and lively waterfront. Your fourth and final stop is at the Little Mermaid, for photographs.
This tour may run in reverse order. Each stop is time on your own. Please note that this tour is non-guided, however there will be an escort. No entrance fees are included. A map of Copenhagen city will be handed out with main sights at the various stops plotted in.
