This tour’s your chance to look for whales and dolphins in their natural habitat. The ocean around the Azores is often cited as the best place for whale and dolphin watching in the Atlantic. They pop up everywhere, in groups of varying sizes, whether they’re travelling to warmer waters, feeding or playing in the waves. In a single boat trip, it’s possible to spot four different kinds of dolphins, like bottlenose, risso’s, striped and spotted. As for larger marine life, sperm whales reside here all year round, but depending on the time of year, migratory species like blue, humpback, minke and sei whales can also appear. Of course, these whales and dolphins move around the oceans freely, so it’s not guaranteed that you’ll see them. However, the staff are veterans of the waters and know the best way to spot whales and dolphins from a distance, without interfering with their natural behaviour. You’ll have two and a half hours on the boat.
