Explore Greece’s answer to Italy’s island of Capri today, as you delve into the colourful caves of Paleokastritsa. After a 30-minute boat trip along Corfu’s cove-speckled north coast, you’ll make a beeline for the three most popular grottos – Nafsika, St Nicholas and Blue Eye. Thanks to a combination of natural minerals and sunlight, the caves light up with shades of turquoise – perfectly matching the azure blue waters that Greece is famous for. Don’t put your camera away just yet, as afterwards you’ll pay a visit to the Byzantine Monastery of the Virgin – it’s home to just eight monks. Inside, there’s a traditional olive press and a museum. Finally, you’ll be treated to the best viewpoint in town – Bella Vista – and then have some free time in the old town.
