You’ll leave the city behind and head out into the Norwegian countryside on this trip. This is where you’ll find Byrkjedalstunet – a former 1920s cheese factory, which has transformed itself into a restaurant and candle-makers. Here, you can try some traditional lapper – thick and fluffly pancakes – with jam and cream, all washed down with tea and coffee. You’ll also get some time to check out the candle workshop. The candles are produced in the old-fashioned way, dipped or moulded into shape. Once you’ve stocked up on scented souvenirs, you’ll get back out into the countryside. You’ll drive to Gloppedalsura Scree. This field is filled with giant boulders that have tumbled down the mountainside – some are as big as a house. You’ll also pass the white-and-wild beaches of Sola, before arriving back in Stavanger. You can finish up with a short sightseeing tour of the city, which is optional.
