Norway’s got a lot of fjords, but Hardangerfjord’s considered one of the most beautiful. And you can check the so-called Queen of the Fjords off your must-see list today. You’ll start with a spot of sightseeing, as you drive past the Bergenhus fort, the fish market and the historic Byrggen area. Once you’ve left Bergen behind, you can admire the snow-crowned mountains in the distance. You’ll hop on a ferry across the fjord, before stopping for lunch. After you’ve refuelled, you can walk underneath the Steinsdal Waterfall, which drops over the top of a mountainside cliff. You’ll drive through tunnels to reach your next drop-off point – the Tokagjel Gorge and the mountain plateau of Kvamskogen. Bergen locals come here to escape the hustle and bustle, and take in the dramatic scenery. You’ll also climb up to Gulbotn, before coming back down and clocking eyes on Oster Island – the biggest on the west coast.
