Hotel Catalonia Las Vegas
It’s close to the beach and centre of town, but with its extensive gardens, the Hotel Catalonia Las Vegas feels nicely tucked away.
You’ve got mountains in one direction and the ocean in the other, so the views at this place are pretty impressive. A rocky beach and the Lago Martiánez pool complex are just over the road, while the old town is five minutes’ walk away.
Palm trees and tropical blooms sprawl throughout the hotel’s grounds, and into the glasshouse-like lobby. Bedrooms come with pine-wood floors and fixtures, and furnishings in complementary shades of navy.

Dated hotel in a good location
If you are under 70 years old then this hotel is probably not for you. Good points: Reasonably powerful shower. Good central location. Lots of shops bars and restaurants. housekeeping very good. Bad points: Dated decor everywhere. Rubbish pillow quality.Very uncomfortable beds. More suited to elderly clients. Poor entertainment compared to nearby hotels. Poor bar service.Food just OK. Front facing rooms have no balcony and road traffic is constant. No fridge even though pre asked before arrival.More

Prime location but not great food for veggies!
Honestly, there is nothing really dreadful to say about this hotel. It was situated in a great spot for exploring both by foot and by bus. Even on a chill day, you could find somewhere interesting to go. HOWEVER!! As a fussy foodie, I was incredibly underwhelmed by the food options, especially at dinner. Don't get me wrong, as a meat-eater, there was much to be had. But as a vegetarian of vegan, your choice is minimal. Sure, you could eat plenty of veg and salad all week with the occasional dollop of rice or potato, but that's where the choice ends. If you wanted a healthy and balanced protein source, your best bet were lumps of cheese... Suffice to say, I never want to see anything yellow again. When I asked the waiter what vegetarian dishes were available on night 1, he helpfully pointed out a tray of broccoli... That night, I lived off aubergine, broccoli, tinned veggies and basic pasta (that I requested, as there was nothing else bar soup and cheese) and it was pretty lifeless. My meals didn't improve and I spent most of my time foraging salad and veg. You can imagine my thrill of eating mush for 7 days, can't you? Oh, and you had to pay for water at lunch and dinner, which I begrudge. Water is an essential and should be included in the meals I have paid for. Nevertheless, the food improved slightly on day 7, where I ate some beans and pesto ravioli - hurrah! But it was a little late by then. I'd even put in a specific request that I was a veggie and still only received bloomin' veg! FYI, this isn't how vegetarian diets work. God help you, if you're vegan or lactose intolerant. Also, there was a cockroach in my room. Bearing in mind I was on the 9th floor, so that was a jolly surprise, too. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay very much. Hence the 3 stars. Pro tip: pack lots of protein bars so that you have the energy to enjoy your trip!!!More

Great hotel pity it takes in rowdy students
We were have ing a nice time in this hotel until recently when about 60 ( not counted) students/school children descended upon this hotel. They are rowdy noisy and I’ll behaved eating food while at the servers, bombing in the pool and generally making lots of noise. We complained to the reception who merely shrugged there shoulders. The noise goes on until the early hours. While this is a good hotel in a good location and otherwise very little to complain about. The hotel and the school team leaders should be on top of this holiday makers are generally quite placid but this mix is not a good one with many older visitors to this hotel being regular visitors. We will not return here, there are many others to choose from in this location. Get your act together Catalonia otherwise many will follow and not return. As a bi-word perhaps you could encourage the restaurant staff to be a little more courteous and smiling. I know this is difficult at times as I have owned and run a hotel but we are what makes you!! The reception staff and animation team are very friendly and helpful a pity though about the rest of the team.More

Get what you pay for.
TUI flight. TUI transfer. Miss dinner by 15 mins. Man with glasses on reception says nice restaurant along road. So thats a good start thinks I. Room 814 was clean. The roof didnt leak and the bed was comfortable. Nice crack in the bathroom sink. Cleaning was good with towels replaced as required but the replenishment of coffee milk and bottled water was hit and miss. Restaurant was clean and always a vacant table. Dirty plates and utensils quickly collected by efficient staff. Ok so everyone is fed on a budget but you always found something. Breakfast better than dinner. BBC 1 and ITV 1 are your channels on the tv. Seems we miss out there as well. All in all you get what you pay for so basically an adequate stay in a tired hotel. PS. IF YOU ARRIVE TOO LATE FOR YOUR DINNER YOU ARE ENTITLED TO A LUNCH TO COMPENSATE BUT SMUG JOE ON RECEPTION WONT TELL YOU THAT. SEE THE TUI REP.More

Very disappointed on stay this time
Day 5 of our holiday which so far had been lovely we have stayed several times at the Las Vegas and love its central location. Today at dinner we were confronted by a group of mainly pink T shirt wearing teenagers who were not controlled by what appeared to be the adults in charge. It was difficult to get to the buffet and ended up not being able to make a good choice but settling for where there was space. No planning seems to have gone into this invasion as there is a section of the restaurant where they could have been seated away from the other guests. It was like dining in a chicken house. I am not looking forward to breakfast time at all. Had recommended this hotel to family but might suggest they stay elsewhere and unsure if we will stay again. Such a shame as we had a fantastic Christmas staying in this hotel and was considering coming again for Christmas this year. Despite other reviews we have no issues with the comfort of the beds or food quality. The staff are all lovely and many have been here since we first stayed here a couple of years ago which is really nice. More
