Be Live Experience Playa la Arena
High points at the Be Live Experience Playa la Arena include a garden setting, a first-rate pool scene, and close proximity to a volcanic beach.
Leafy, well-maintained gardens dominate the grounds of this hotel. It only takes a few minutes to walk down a path towards a black-sand beach. The centre of Playa de la Arena is a 15-minute walk away.
The décor here is really impressive. The huge, high-ceilinged lobby is draped in hanging vines and has a sweeping main staircase. Modern rooms, meanwhile, are styled in pastel tones.

Excellent long weekend
Firstly the name of this hotel has changed recently but who cares in a name. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and very spacious. Got there at 1pm, Checkin was smooth, got our All inclusive wrist bands and we went up straight to our room. No problems with the room - spotlessley clean and all facilities worked as expected. Lobby bar was nice to have a drink before dinner and the food was very good with plenty of choices for every diet. Snack bar great - we had lunch in there one of the days instead of the main restaurant as there were plenty of choices other than burgers, hot dogs and chips (although you can still get these). You can upgrade to the Adults club but its expensive and we didnt see many in there on our trip. Good to know: 1. Theres a shop in the hotel which sells everything - newspapers, sun cream, souveniers etc 2. There is shower / bath gel in the bathroom 3. Rooms cleaned every day 4. UK channels on TV 5. Walk down the hill or take the lift on the far side of the hotel and you’re opposite a black sand beach and the sea 6. Down the hill or the lift, turn left to many shops and bars. The Blarney Stone shows all the footy and rugby. There’s a nice Indian restaurant at the end - Bombay Babu 7. At the foot of the hill or turn right and some great restaurants - italian, chinese, german. Night and Day restaurant for Italian - i highly recommend it for dinner. Overall a very enjoyable break and with 23c daytime temperarures in January, you cant go wrong. More
Stayed for 10 days had amazing weather. The one wow was the reception area, the bedrooms were spacious but needed updating as old fashioned. Hotel extremely large hence lots of nationalities. Pool areas lovely and one heated so was always full and great to swim in. plenty of sun loungers. Food was plentiful and average in dining room but have to agree with previous reviews quite a few utensils were not clean and struggled to obtain cutlery sometimes. The snack bar was above average with large choice. entertainment was probably best we have experienced and being frequent travellers were impressed compared to other All Inclusive hotels. Tapas restaurant ok think it would be better for a pre dinner snackrather than meal lacked ambiance. Al la carte was very good however the one thing this hotel does not do very well is to provide information - it was only be asking the staff that we realised you had to pay for steak and salmon it’s not clear at time of dining. There are lots of positives about this hotel but we felt not enough information provided - there is a spa but it is in sister hotel plenty of activities but apart from pool ones we had no idea where the others took place! Food could be better
Just returned from here after a 9 night stay, can sort of agree with some of the comments about the food. Breakfast we only had croissants and toast which to be fair you can't go wrong with cooking or eating, coffee was nice from the Nescafe machines proper creamy, tea and hot chocolate good to. You can get bacon sausage egg stuff like that, but after cutting into one of the sausages first morning it was still pink in the middle, hence croissant every morning, plenty of fruit and fresh juice. Lunch we didn't bother with in the restaurant just ate in the pool bar, quick and way then back on the sunbeds which there are plenty and never struggled to get two of them the whole time we where there. Evening meal was where it all falls apart a wee bit, it's just not suited to us Brits, there was quite a few Brits that were struggling with the food, I had pretty much chips every night oh and soup, the soup was good. Problem is in my humble opinion is this hotel is mainly food wise geared up for the French, Spanish, German and so on, not the Brits, and it Showed to. That's the only thing that let's this place down, the pool area was spotlessly clean, the rooms are nice, make sure you get an even number room if you can 106,206,306 and so on, they all over look the pools and lovely sea views. Didn't use the Adults Club with separate pool area, didn't need to as plenty of room in the normal bit, adults club will cost you 25 euros each per day. Shane about the food as that's the only thing that woukd stop us returning to this hotel. Never had any problems with the staff they where all friendly and polite, bar staff, waiters, chamber maids to, no problem at all.More
Couldn't have wished for anything more
It's hard to say what we enjoyed the most about our stay. We had the most amazing week from start to finish, everything was perfect. We were welcomed by everyone who we crossed paths with, the entire team of staff were lovely, warm, friendly and happy. From front of house, restaurant, entertainment, photography team and cleaning staff. The entertainment team were unbelievable, they were amazing with us and the kids, what an amazing group of people you have working for you. They had a great selection of food for everyone's needs which was made fresh. The hotel and rooms were clean and well looked after. Our family room was fantastic, it had everything you need when you have young children, it was a home from home. The kids club and mini disco was a huge part of the holiday for both my children, they loved it. The staff who looked after it were great, they were very good with all the children and made sure they had lots of fun and helping them all to learn different languages to talk to each other. Huge thank you to everyone involved, we can't wait to come back next year More
Immaculately clean, poor food and drinks
Currently staying here and can’t fault the room, the reception area is impressive and spotless and the pools are great. Staff are helpful and friendly and the place has a good atmosphere. However, the food is a real let down. The salad combinations are strange and involve lots of sultanas, the dressings are tasteless and the lasagne last night was inedible. They used a cheap mashed potato equivalent ( like smash) and tinned spinach to make the most revolting spinach and mash pie and even the pizzas were hard and tasteless. The Mexican night was no better with fake cheese and over salted salsa. It’s not difficult to create a tasty chilli but they couldn’t even manage that. There is so much wasted food on plates ! They really need to up the budget for food and taste it themselves ! The wine is ok but the spirits just taste of chemicals. So disappointing that the whole experience could be wonderful if they just spent a little bit more on the quality of the food and drink. I wouldn’t come back here but I have visited the Be Live Costa Los Gigantes 4 times in the past ( it’s just up from this hotel and a much better option in my opinion).More
