Holidays to Los Gigantes take you to a lively seaside town with a bustling marina and a black-sand beach – plus awe-inspiring cliffs providing the backdrop.
Against the backdrop of a sheer cliff face, Los Gigantes combines stunning scenery, sand and surf, and quaint Canarian town. Cruise holiday go-getters and relaxers alike will fall in love with this beautiful spot.
A convenient cliffside location
Los Gigantes is on Tenerife’s western coast. Millions visit the area each year to see the famous cliffs, but Los Gigantes also makes a great base for your Cruise & Stay Tenerife trip. You’ll find everything you need in the town, and the Playa de la Arena and Puerto de Santiago resorts are under fifteen minutes away. The region boasts some of the nicest weather in Tenerife, which has one of the best year-round climates in the world, so you can definitely leave your raincoats at home.
From cliffs to beaches
The resort takes its name from Acantilados de los Gigantes, or the Cliffs of the Giants. Peaking at 600 metres, this impressive rock face is among the most stunning sights on the island. At Playa de los Gigantes, the black sand beach beneath the cliffs, you can sunbathe, swim, and enjoy the awe-inspiring formation towering over you. The thriving local marine life found at the foot of the cliffs also makes this area an incredible snorkelling spot.
Take to the waters
From the marina next to Playa de los Gigantes, you can embark on a whole host of aquatic adventures. Go fishing, kayaking, or even do some dolphin spotting in the Canary waters. If you want a close-up view of the cliffs, just explore the coastline on a cruise trip. Once you return, you can relax in shaded waterfront cafés or restaurants while you soak up the thriving marina atmosphere.
Nothing is out of reach on an island getaway, and from Los Gigantes, you are perfectly located to investigate Tenerife. Venture east, and you can visit Mount Teide volcano, which is also the highest mountain in Spain. To the north, you can enter the Macizo de Teno Mountains and follow the winding road to Masca, a picturesque village perched on a mountainside. East of Los Gigantes, just a short ferry trip away, you can explore the natural wonders of idyllic La Gomera.
