Hovima Hotel Costa Adeje
This well-placed, adults-only hotel has a fantastic infinity pool and a restaurant that alternates between two different specialities.
The hotel’s location means everything is on hand. A black-sand beach is 3 minutes’ walk away, and there are bars and restaurants practically on your doorstep. You can wander over to Playa de las Americas in 20 minutes.
There’s an infinity pool and a heart-shaped pool. For meals, you’ve got a themed restaurant as well as a buffet eatery. Tribute acts feature strongly in the evenings.

We booked a TUI all inclusive 2 week stay 31 May - 14 June 2019 ADULTS ONLY This is my review and my honest opinion. We have not been asked or paid to write this review We ust believe if your going to write a review write a proper one. Entrance & Reception The first thing that strikes you is the huge entrance and reception. There are quite a few steps to climb to the reception and there is a ramp for those who cannot/don’t want to use the steps. Once in reception there are usually 3 or 4 staff on duty and you are greeted with a glass of Prosecco. Which is a nice touch. Check in is very swift and your soon on the way to your room. We were on the 4th floor (Rm 430). ROOM The room we had was plenty big enough. Nice size bed (comfort is subjective) Plenty of wardrobe and shelf space and a bed side units. But no drawers. The balcony was a sea view and boy what a view. And the balcony was huge. We loved it. One of the best things about our room which was the pool side of the hotel was that it’s always in the shade so after a 9 hour day at the pool it was nice to go back to and we hardly used the air conditioning as a result. There is a safe in each room at a cost of €46 for 2 weeks of which €10 is returned to you at check out. A small price to pay to protect your valuables. The bathroom was very nicely laid out. Nice sink unit with a huge mirror. A nice walk in shower and the shower head must of been 10” in diameter. And a great water flow too. It also features a great full size hairdryer (so I’m told) The maids kept the room and bathroom spotless everyday. POOL The pool is open from 0830-1800 and you are not allowed to go early and put your towels on the sun beds. But to be fair with 2 pools and a 3rd dipping pool there are no shortage of sun beds. And the sun beds were the best sun beds we have had (no arms) and comfortable. There is a very good entertainment team during the day encouraging you to play volleyball, water aerobics as well as various other activities. The pool bar opens at about 1030 but cold water is always available from water coolers dotted around. And coffee from various machines both at the pool bar, snack bar & Main bar and restaurant. The pool area also has a very well equipped snack bar where you can get a light lunch and drinks etc. We didn’t make use of this as we prefer to sit at a table to eat rather than off of our laps. But nonetheless it is very well staffed and provides a good handy service for those that want to use it. Also the pool areas are in the sun all day. Due to the great position of the whole site. Rooms in the shade pools in the sun. Brilliant! Towels are provided for a small returnable cash deposit €15 per towel. (make sure you have cash) as it’s returned to you in cash. The towels can be changed every other day with the man at the pool. A great service. I am of the opinion that all pools at all hotels should be non smoking. It’s an irritant when at the pool given most smokers are usually quite selfish. RESTAURANT The restaurant is huge ! Plenty of outside and indoor seating shade or sun. There is always plenty of choice between fresh salads. Cooked meals and fruit. Boy is there plenty of fruit. The food is always well cooked. Well presented and some is cooked in front of you. Every night is a different country of food. Spanish. Mexican. English. Italian. French etc As with most European hotels there is the usual array of cold meats and bread rolls for breakfast (strange to us brits!) Puddings consist of the usual very sweet cake type things and fresh melon, pineapple, bananas etc. It’s worth noting that we did not have one bad meal in our 2 week stay. BAR The bar area is nice, big and airy and very cool. A down side to the bar is there is not much by way of soft drinks it’s either Coca Cola or Fanta orange/lemon. There seem to be no mixers like tonic etc (for the gin obviously) There is plenty of seating. There is good quality entertainment every evening ranging from singers to comedians and magicians. Overall we had a great 2 weeks at this hotel. And our holiday was made more enjoyable by the keen, enthusiastic and very helpful staff. There is also a great walking route along the coast outside the hotel where no vehicles of any sort are allowed. STAFF Some of the most enthusiastic staff I have ever come across. All seem happy in their work. We all know that the service industry are not great payers so I’m hoping that their work conditions are very good. They seem to be so let’s hope so. From the reception through to the waiting and activity staff all are very very good at their jobs and nothing is to much for them to help in anyway they can. We saw the general manager at work and she seems to run a very tight ship. And we are grateful for that as it means this hotel is very well run. We have already booked to return next year. And we never go to the same place twice so this tells you have good it is here. POINTS WORTH NOTING There is free WIFI and it’s pretty good all over the hotel. There are a few dead spots inside but isn’t there every where you go. This is probably the cleanest hotel We’ve seen The staff are always busy Tables are cleared and cleaned immediately We had an issue which was dealt with by our rep and the hotel straight away to mutual satisfaction. The hotel and social areas are spotlessly clean at all times. Single use plastic is kept to a minimum due multi use plastic “glasses “ in the pool bars. This hotel is so nice we have already booked a return visit for June 2020. One of the best things for us was the fact there are no flies or mosquitoes. Which was an absolute god send. More
8th holiday at the Hovima
We have enjoyed all our holidays at the Hovima, the service, cleanliness and most of all the pleasant attitude of the staff make our holidays. All the teams work well together and most of the staff have been there for years, a sign of a good and well run hotel. We did have some problems on arrival due to building/maintenance work and we reported this to our TUI reps, Pamela and Jessie. They are a credit to TUI as they dealt with the issue in a very professional and capable manner, and made sure that we had the best possible resolution. Thank you. We are returning at the end of September for what, I am sure will be another relaxing holiday, thank you also to Nuria and the team on reception, also our special life guard, Ariel. See you all soon.More
Best view in Adeje
Just had a wonderful week, stress free, clean, friendly. Slight criticism food in main restaurant is repetitive albeit good choice and quality. Our second visit and will return. Staff were brilliant and helpful, nothing to much trouble. More
Very good hotel
Very good service with a friendly staff. Good restaurant with extensive buffets for breakfast, lunch and diner. The restaurant was beautifull and very clean, with a good service. The room was clean. TOP animation TEAM. The hotel has a good location near by restaurants, shops and beach.More
Just arrived back from staying here for a week. Room was ok but not the best view from our room. Food was lovely but my friend struggled abit being a celiac as some meats are served in sauce so she was unable to eat them . Best night was the barbecue night. The entertainment was good the animation team work really hard and are a credit to the hotel. The only thing I would say would be a improvement if there was a waiter service in the evenings, as only one bar for everyone to use .The amount of people in the hotel I think there was not enough sun beds , unless like some people you put your towel on one early in the day if you plan to go out because in the afternoon there was not usually any left to use . I would certainly return as we enjoyed our holiday. If the hotel was on the beach I would of given it 5stars .More
