A little disappointing
My 6 night stay was a bit disappointing. At check in, the staff were friendly. I had only one question, does my room have a nice view? A glimpse of the sea or perhaps overlooking the gardens/pool area? I was told all the rooms have a balcony and a nice view. When I got to my room, I went straight to the balcony to find it overlooked the car park at the back and rarely if ever got any sun. I also found out that bin delivery/service trucks came in and out below beeping as they reversed out at all hours. I would happily have paid a bit extra if required for a view. I can get a room overlooking a car park anywhere! I received a customer on survey after 2 days and I mentioned the lack of a view. There was no reply from this. WIFI was down the only day I spent by the pool. On the other days it worked intermittently but very slowly! For a hotel of this standard, WIFI should work smoothly. Breakfast was chaotic. Instead of being assigned a table, you could sit anywhere. If you aren't down for breakfast before 9:00 be prepared for a mad scramble. The coffee was too strong and tea was a tepid pot of water with a teabag on the side. In fairness there is a large selection of good quality food, fresh fruit, breads, cooked breakfast etc.. The building is nice, rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The bathroom had a very dark grey paint, making it feel very gloomy and there was no bath in my room. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The pool area is very nice. More
Stayed in Room 179 right next to the walkway to the Promenade and Saltwater Pool. Staff at the Hotel were all very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Close to the main eateries which we tried different one each evening best being the one up the hill to roundabout and first restaurant on the left. the one next door was equally good value (sorry cannot remember their names). All in all a very relaxing and hassle free post Christmas breakMore
Post Christmas Break
Only a 15 minute drive from the airport. Stylish/Contemporary looking hotel in a white Moorish design. A warm welcome by staff with a glass of prosecco. Smooth check in. Luggage whisked away to room (room no. 668) Spacious African styled standard twin room with covered balcony. Fridge and safe in room. Large shower en-suite with fresh flowers which was a lovely touch. Bathrobes and slippers.Tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom. Requested a coffee machine as had bought own coffee pods. Usually for club class but one sent up to room. Thank you so much for doing this. Management might think about placing one in all standard rooms as this is now becoming the norm in the UK and guests will teally appreciate it. A good size television.Subtle lighting. Amazingly comfortable beds with a nest of soft pillows. Lots of wardrobe space. Hotel grounds are beautifully maintained. Choice of pools - fresh and salt water. Choice of restaurants. Plenty of sun beds available, certainly at this time of the year. In a quieter position than Las Americas and Los Christianos but still near plenty of shops and restaurants. Overall - A superb choice. A few more touches in the standard rooms without too much expense would elevate them even more and impress guests. All staff very friendly and helpful. Would I come to this hotel again? A resounding YES!More

Relaxing, Carefree holiday
This was my first holiday abroad after my husband passed away. We frequently holidayed in Tenerife but at a friends bungalow. We had often passed Jardin Tropcal and thought how appealing it looked. I was naturally apprehensive about holidaying alone but my experience at Jardin Tropical was fantastic. The hotel has a unique style and offers premium service. My room 691 had a fabulous sea and pool view, beautifully lit at night. The room was spotless. My cleaner Irene was marvellous , even leaving little cards with thoughtful messages on them which means a lot when on your own. Toiletries were provided and an abundance of fluffy towels. There was no deposit required for pool towels or the safe. The Laguna Food Market buffet offered international cuisine which was healthy, organic and of the highest quality. This was by no means a traditional buffet it was world class cuisine. The restaurant manager was always present and ran a very tight ship. Standards of food and service being exemplary. The buffet is divided into several small areas so queues are avoided and the atmosphere is tranquil . As a single traveller I did not feel self conscious or that I stood out. The pool area was immaculately maintained. It was a quiet and peaceful place. Again I felt safe and relaxed on my own. All the staff are so friendly , you always felt someone would assist you if necessary. I had meals from room service on 3 occasions. These were tastefully presented, promptly delivered and delicious. A fantastically positive and enjoyable holiday. I cannot wait to return. Thank you to all at Jardin Tropical.More
The Dark Side of the Jardin Tropical
The hotel itself and the surrounding area made a strong and good impression. The buildings are well-designed and the variety of menus and location of hotel's restaurants is worth noting. However, we were unhappily surprised that a double room with one bed, in fact, is equipped with two single beds shifted together. Moreover, they stand on rollers and tend to move apart. In fact, we found out that all double beds in the hotel rooms are actually two shifted single beds. The hotel doesn't have a free parking zone while the daily price for a parking place is rather high - 15 euros. And a rent-a-car representative had to leave our car right in front of the main entrance as the guests' parking zone is also not provided. But the saddest thing about our stay was lost money from the luggage room. After the checkout, we left our luggage with 300 euros inside the backpack in the luggage room. We were not informed that the hotel is not responsible for any valuables left there. We discovered the fact of the lost money only in a taxi on the way to the airport. Fortunately, we had a credit card with a small amount of money for an emergency case just like that. Right after arriving at the airport we sent an email to the hotel, in which we informed the staff that "we found out that we lost our money (around 300€) from the luggage. They could be either in the room if we accidentally left them near our bed or they were stolen from our luggage while it was stored in the luggage room". We didn't get any response to our email for almost 18 hours. After that, we sent another email to the hotel and got a quick response in one hour. However, we were fully disappointed by the content of the response: the lady from Guest Experience Department informed us that "nothing was found in the room, neither in the luggage room" and "the luggage room is a room where many people come and go, we cannot be responsible for any valuables that are not kept in the safe". According to the fact that nothing was found in our room, we supposed that our money was stolen from the luggage room. If the hotel has cameras in the luggage room it is possible to inspect the recordings and find the thief. If the luggage room has no cameras and does not have control of any kind it is obvious for us that there is no use in such a luggage room. Also, we think that the hotel personal should explicitly tell us, that the hotel is not responsible for any items left in the luggage room (which is very strange for the hotel of such level). Moreover, we think that blaming hotel guests for stealing our money is a very unprofessional answer. We have stayed in many hotels and it was the first time when we faced such a situation. We had been spending our honeymoon in the Jardin Tropical and this accident totally ruined all the great impression of the holiday. Not only because we lost our money but because we feel the hotel's staff unwillingness to participate in our situation by not responding to our email on the same day. We sent an email to the hotel with our thoughts about this accident but did not receive any response. Undoubtedly, we will not recommend Jardin Tropical to our family members or any of our friends.More
