Definitely not a four star facility
This may have been a four star establishment when it opened, but it definitely is not by today's standards. The place needs a serious investment to address deferred maintenance and to update it. There are significant signs of wear and tear throughout, from loose and cracked floor tiles to scratched and dirty walls to tired furnishings. While the location offers wonderful views, the layout of the various buildings was not well thought out. Depending where your room is located, you need to transfer into 2-3 elevators to get to reception and to the dining and entertainment areas, or climb countless stairs. The food is substantially sub-par compared to other 4-star hotels we have stayed in. Although the staff is generally good natured, they seem overworked and hurried, especially in the restaurant where the noise of plates being cleared and silverware being dispensed into bins is overwhelming. Do not expect a calm quiet eating experience at this hotel. We found the drinks to be quite disappointing as well. The wines are acid and the pina colada a syrupy goop from a pre-mixed package. The best items were the beer and the fresh fruit when it was ripe. Can't mess those up. The location is somewhat remote so you need a car to get away and see other things. If you're fine with getting burnt by the pool with lousy food and drinks, then this is your ideal place. If you want to experience other parts of the island, then you need transportation, but parking here is challenging as there are not enough spaces for everyone that comes with a vehicle. We had our car towed one night after having to leave it in a no-parking area since there were no available spaces. €165 for the towing and police fee and a €15 taxi ride later we were able to recover the vehicle. Not a pleasant experience, but I guess it could have been worse. We experienced only part of a couple of the shows offered, but found them to be about the same quality as everything else in the hotel so we didn't stay long. The room has pretty bad acoustics so it also did not help. This hotel seems more geared towards young families and travelers on a budget. I would rather spend a little more to have a better experience. There are plenty of reviews of folks that enjoy this place. It just depends on your tastes and expectations. More
Holiday September 2019 24th to 2nd October
The Hotel has fantastic views for sun sets, the pools are lovely but unfortunately you need to known that the location of this hotel has a road closure when travelling towards to Puerto Mogan, you have to travel by bus to player to Cura in order to catch the next bus back to Mogan, if you travel by taxi they are charging 20 euros, the shops in Taurito sell nothing more than tourist items, whereas Mogan has all the shops. We couldnt even by milk for our room to make tea and coffee. I am a none smoker and I would like to add that spain has strick ruling policies on smoking, well not in this hotel, I am sorry but you need to have smoking areas as I would like to add that at least 70% of people where smoking, it felt that you just couldnt get away with it, the rooms above the sun set viewing area have smoke drifting into them, we were the 2nd block up and had to shut our door to stop this. Why are your customers smoking on the balanies. I would like to say that your staff work very hard to clean the hotel and do a very good job, the restaurant and entertainment were a lot to be desired, perhaps I am a bit picky on food, but the entertainment left a lot to be desired, we had 2 out of 7 nights that we managed to stay and watch. Your highlight was the Vegas night, why were we sitting around for at least an hour before the evening show could your two DJs not play music to entertain us rather than just sit there. More
Me and my partner have just got back from a 7 night stay here. The hotel is lovely. Sea view from nearly everywhere in the hotel. Bit out of the sticks but it's so quiet. Reception staff are so nice and helpful we didn't have to speak to them other than checking in and out (that's how good the hotel was ans how good they were at explaining everything) Pros Seaview and with sunsets perfectly visible Buffet has a large selection of food for every one and with something different every night Staff on site are friendly and always helpful. Onsite shop but only open until 3pm but you have the essentials. Adult only pool is cold and refreshing Rooms are large with nice bathrooms with a shower and bath (ours did anyway) Sunset bar is lovely and showing sports/music Views are breathtaking Cons A load of stairs. With the hotel being built into the mountain the hotel is built vertically and the large amount of stairs can be exhausting, there are lifts but they only go up 4 levels at a time and a small walk is needed between them but it's good exercise. Cleaning staff would ignore the do not disturb sign and just walk in, and when you say hello they just close the door and not say anything. Beds are a bit firm but after all the walking it's still comfy. No easy way to the beach (not the hotels fault) be prepared for a lot of walking up and down. When it came to checking out and we had a late transfer they were really nice and offered us a shower and still gave us full access to the pool, food and drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will 100% stay again. More
Love this Hotel
Strange some clients did not find the staff friendly, been their a couple of times found them most helpful. The views and sunsets are amazing. We find where ever you go in Europe the food is not piping hot but I think this is a British thing as we don't talk at the dinner table as others do. Usually there is a microwave to give it a quick zap. The way the Hotel is so thoroughly cleaned really impressed me and the late bar is very nice to sit outside and relax before going to bed. Hope Yvonne is still working with the Animation team when we visit in the new year. We have recently been to Majorca and Majorca this year and this Hotel really is very good.More
Good relaxed place
Just returned from Mogan princess today, nice hotel but very remote, food varied and good quality but could be hotter! Plenty of sunbeds always available, staff not particularly friendly, except a lovely couple on reception, sorry can't remember names, disappointed no bottled water available on all inclusive, unless you upgrade your package! Lovely black cat wondering around, who we fed daily, please feed if you see her/him! Loves ham and turkey from the restaurant! ???More
