Hotel Taurito Princess
This hotel comes with two big pools and a beach just outside. And evenings are all about live entertainment.
Tucked in a tranquil horseshoe bay, this place is just steps from a sandy beach. As such, all the rooms have views out over the ocean. Another big plus is the pool scene – there are two big pools here.
Meals come courtesy of the buffet restaurant, and there’s live entertainment every night of the week – everything from magicians to flamenco dancers. There’s a bar that’s good for cocktails, as well. When you're not staying put, the hotel lays on a free bus that'll get you to Puerto Mogan in 15 minutes.

Cracking views, 4* hotel
Below is my review based on the opinions of a 26 year old who travelled with 20 year old sister for a week break during last week of August - Start of September. Before I get into the PROS and CONS, below are a few tips to take note of: - Forget using the beach by the Hotel, take a trip down to Puerto Rico or preferably Amadores beach. Much larger and better beaches, only a 10-15 euro taxi drive away. Approx. a 15 min drive. - Book the Katamaran boat trip out. For 67 euros (if booked through TUI rep), it's well worth the money! 50% of water sports as well, which offered Jet Ski (30 euros) / Paragliding (25 euros) / Water Donut (10 euros). Water Donut is a lot of fun! Morning trip is the one to do! 9am - 2:30pm. - If you're looking to avoid kids being about, avoid going during School Summer Holiday period. - Remember Gents to take full length trousers / jeans. You cannot eat in the Restaurants for Evening meal without them. They were turning people away who tried to get in with Shorts. This is only for the Evening meal. - The Sun is surprisingly strong between 12 - 4pm. UV Index hit 11 each day whilst we were over there, so take Factor 30 and 50 with you. Don't be lead into a false sense of security in the morning where it feels OK and is only about UV Index 5. It spikes up quickly! - For any spa related treatments, use the actual Spa resort place just up the Road (same Road, only a minute walk from Hotel) as the Hotel instead. They're much better. PROS: - Hotel is smartly decorated and certainly worth of a 4* rating for that aspect. Kept clean throughout the entire stay. - The views out to Sea are cracking from the Pool area in particular, with the Hotel being situated right on the beach / overlooking the Sea, it was to be expected. Very good photo opportunities with Sunsets etc. Every room has Sea Views as well, obviously the higher floors have the best ones. I was on the 7th floor and the room had brilliant views out to Sea. One of the Restaurants / eating areas is also outside, so has lovely views out to Sea at Lunch and Evening meals. - For Couples, would advise booking a table in the other Restaurant that's situated outside. I didn't eat in this bit as I was on Holiday with the Sis, but from what I could see, the setting was very romantic and it's situated with great views out to Sea. - Food was good with a decent variety. I'm a fussy eater with a very plain palet, but was able to eat just fine all week. They had different themed foods on each night as well in the main Buffet restaurant, which my Sister tried and was pleased with how the food tasted. - 2 fairly decent sized pools to use with a good number of Sunbeds to choose from. Get down to the Pool before 9:30am though to secure beds, otherwise they will all be gone. - The shop in the Hotel actually had quite a good variety of snacks that us UK people will be used to eating. Pringles / Maryland Cookies / KitKat's / Ice Lollies etc. 5 litre bottles of water were only 3 euros, so very reasonably priced. - Free WIFI given as soon as you check in, always a bonus. Worked quite well with a decent speed. NEGS: - We went during last week before UK Schools would be back from Summer holidays, but expected this Hotel to be fairly children free. Unfortunately there was actually quite a lot of young kids which resulted in a pretty busy Pool. Perhaps outside of School holiday period though, this would be different. - Rooms are quite basic and the bed mattresses are a hard compound. This might be suitable for those used to a Medium or Hard compound at home, but I'm used to a Soft-Medium compound so had difficulties sleeping properly. We also booked a Twin Room but seemed to be given a Double Room with a Large Queen sized bed! - Evening entertainment wasn't much to behold and was definitely aimed more for the younger kids age range with what was put on. - The beach whilst being right on the Hotel's doorstep was not the best of beaches I've ever seen. Fairly small and the sand wasn't great. Also have to pay approx. 10 euros for the Sunbeds on the Beach, as all the Beaches as I understand it in Gran Canaria are private. Overall, I'd give the Hotel a 4*. We had an enjoyable stay and for myself was a much needed chilled break from work.More
Our vacation in Taurito
Good hotel. Staff is biggest problem of the hotel. People speck in spanish is giving you drinks like you are street man Do not accept foreigners , do not understand why to promote for tourists if do not accept them?????More
Enjoyable stay, beautiful view!
We went as a couple... Hotel was what we expected - Nice room, cleaners were spot on every day, clean towels left and beds made up with fresh bedding. All inclusive - The food was varied with a wide selection of meats/veg/salad on offer. Plenty of sun beds so no need to rush down to grab one. Entertainments team were okay and they worked hard to put on their evening shows, the visiting acts were good and kept everyone entertained. Local alcohol was okay but for a few euros a day (per person) you can upgrade to proper branded beer and shorts.More
Currently due to come home tomorrow the hotel is lovely as working in the same industry this is outstanding! They provide pool/beach towel changes 2 free ones the food is a very good choice. The staff are lovely and smiley all times. You can take a 2 min walk to the beach. Food available a large part of the day finishing at 9.30pm and starting at 8am. Lola which appears to be the restaurant manager I’m not sure if she is seems to work long hours but nothing is any trouble for her and always greets and thanks everyone. Small shop within the hotel. Entertainment around the pool also at night. Reception staff are lovely and security guard present also welcomes everyone. Even tho we had a late arrival on our first night asking where we could eat the night staff joked and told us about mc da but said they knew we were arriving late and would be putting food on for us which was really nice. Over all I don’t have any negative feedback for this hotel I would highly recommend and will be returning in the future. Thank you too all the staff at the hotel from the reception to the bar staff to the maids to the security guard I will look forward to returning :)More
Mixed Review- Overall good though
Me, my partner and my young son have just got back from our stay at Hotel Taurito Princess and we have thoroughly enjoyed the holiday; however there were pros and cons. Firstly, the pros: - the rooms are lovely - the pool is just as nice - we had no issues with the sun beds (as I had previously seen was a problem on here) - the reception staff is great - quaint, safe surroundings - beach is beautiful - the drinks are great - Puerto Mogán and Puerto Rico are great towns which should be visited Right, the cons: - the food is very samey, rather tasteless (even the themed evenings) - the entertainment is rubbish- along with most of the entertainment staff. On our final evening, we were trying to take part in a music quiz when the gentleman who was the host was down right rude to us and excluded us from the quiz. Pathetic comment I know but why run a competition if you won’t allow people to compete and throw comments around such as “everyone can answer except you guys” gesturing towards us. - that daft rule about the trousers for men in the evening didn’t affect us personally but we met some people who it did and they were told by staff “be grateful you aren’t disabled because we send them up there as well” referring to the outside area which is up a flight of stairs. - there’s not a lot around the hotel to do so make sure you take some euros to visit other towns. Overall, great holiday, hotel is above average overall.More
