We stayed here as soon as it reopened at the end of August. We were worried that it might not be ready after all the redevelopment. We had nothing to worry about everything about this hotel was like new and spotless. And running very smoothly. The two pools were great could always get a bed. The rooms were comfy and everything you need. The food was good always something to choose from. The entertainment was on but hardly anyone watching it so no atmosphere. So we went down beach front or Yumbo. The beach is a 5 min walk but then a 86 steps down to it. Alright going down but up is hard work!! But a cab back is only 3 euros. This was a nice relaxing place to go for a weeks break.More
Beautiful hotel, well maintained, extremely clean with lovely staff
Just back after 11 nights at this lovely hotel The hotel is beautiful, very well kept. We had a top floor sea view room which also benefitted from a view of the entertainment at night. We were half board which consisted of a buffet breakfast starting at 8 am until 10.30, allowing you to sit wherever you choose in the morning, plenty of choice for everyone. The evening meal - there were 2 sittings and you had to decide which sitting would suit at the start of the holiday 6.30 and 8.30. You were allocated a table for dinner and this was yours for the duration of your stay for your chosen time. We had the most lovely server called Jordanna. Food was nice with good choice. Menu seemed to rotate on a weekly basis. Age group - think this hotel is more suitable for older guests. Pool - 2 pools, lots of sun beds even with cushions and plenty of clean sun bed towels available. For the majority of our stay no floats, balls etc were allowed in the pool with a pool attendant asking anyone having fun to remove the objects 😢, this did spoil things a little for us - no atmosphere, it could be deathly quiet at times. No daytime entertainment At all at the hotel which is a shame, sometimes the days could be long. They did have a tennis court and a pool table and table football. Most ladies enjoy a keep fit session in the pool a couple of times a week. We are a family of 4 with 2 children aged 16 and 18 More
What a graet place! I have been staying for one week with my wife (honeymoon) and it was like a dream for us. The hotel is quite big and in a good condition. The director a very good person, talkative and easy going. The food amazing. The whole staff extremely professional. I have nothing to complain with, i will definitely come back there! More
Had the pleasure of staying in this hotel in May and must say it is an excellent hotel that strives to make your stay a memorable one. The staff are pleasant and friendly without being too overbearing. It is situated on the famous dunes and worth a walk over or as a backdrop to your selfie. It is a quiet location with the nearest bars a 15 to 20 minute walk, there are taxis outside all day and a regular bus service outside. The hotel reflects its Spanish heritage roots and has a colonial ambience in the public areas and is not a faceless box that you find in many resorts. The rooms are a decent size with plenty of cupboard space and drawers, flat screen tv that has sky news which is far better than BBC world news which many hotels seem to broadcast. Bed was comfortable although not very impressed with the pillows. The safe in the room was 22€ per week a small price to pay to keep your valuables secure. The bathroom was acceptable with a shower over the bath, towels were decent size and soft and changed daily. For the ladies there was a hairdryer in the bathroom but not very powerful, suggest you take your own. The choice at breakfast was excellent with a wide variety to suit most tastes, dinner was also excellent with a wide variety of choices from sushi, roast turkey, rabbit, prawns, caviar and local fish.in addition there were themed choices. I thoroughly enjoyed the ice cream with cooked peaches topped up with cola!(a generous drop of brandy, lush). Dress code for men was long trousers for dinner, smart casual,no ugly football shirts etc. There were plenty of sun beds available but for some reason some fellow English guests were getting up before sunrise to get beds, very sad, there was never a problem finding a bed. There are two pools of a decent size but I certainly didn’t like the whirlpool which was freezing cold, gave it a miss after a couple of goes. There is also an a la carte restaurant,Krystal, this has to be prebooked and has limited availability but there is no extra charge for using it or restrictions on how often you may use it. The food choices are the same for every night. The food and wine was first class and the service was excellent, the one area where it could be improved is when you are shown to your seat and seated the staff should place the napkin on your lap,a small touch but makes the experience a touch more special. Bar prices were what you can expect to pay in this standard of hotel but let’s remember the quantity is very generous. The clientele in the hotel is international, French,Dutch British and German who probably are the largest group. Age ranged from mid 30’s to upper 70’s,quite a wide range and diverse reflecting modern make up of couples. There were some couples with small children in the hotel but the facilities for children are pretty limited. Overall this is a first class hotel and if you are looking for somewhere where you can chill out and have first class food and service then come here, you will not be disappointed. More
Old style pleasant hotel in lovely location
We travelled as a family group with a baby and the hotel kindly placed us in 3 nice quiet rooms next to one another overlooking the sand dunes towards Meloneras. The hotel is a little dated/old-fashion in style but extremely well-maintained and looked after and the location is great, 10 minutes walk from busy Playa del Ingles, but right on the beautiful sand dunes (which can be quite a challenge to walk across to the beach and Meloneras!). The hotel facilities were very good - a buffet restaurant for breakfast/dinner, a separate bookable restaurant, lounge bar with outside patio overlooking the pool and 2 pool areas with plenty of sunbeds (not busy when we went in April, with perfect weather). The staff were also very attentive and friendly and always made sure we had a table with a high-chair for the baby and he got lots of attention from them! This is not really a hotel for youngsters as more of an older clientele, or families with young children, but if you don't mind that, then it's a comfortable pleasant hotel with a good varied selection of food for breakfast/dinner and a wonderful location to sit and watch the sun set over the sand dunes.More
