Excellent stay once more!
My previous review on this Hotel was very clear and once again, one year on the Hotel and more importantly the staff remains as impressive as ever. This applies from the Director of the Hotel (Marisa) Reception team (Jose Juan Toni and the wider team,) the bar staff, waiter service and housekeeping in particular Raquel who looked after our lovely accommodation, Adam in pristine whites every day and the porters who looked after all of our luggage not to forget of course the Pool team headed up by Santiago who work throughout the day keeping the water safe for us to enjoy a lovely swim in the sunshine. We cannot thank them all enough for everything they do to make your visit simply perfect in every aspect. Had a wonderful 2 weeks in Jan 2020 and met some great new staff including Pedro who looked after the Poolside bar and Terrance bar. A very attentive professional who ensured blankets are readily available to keep that chill off during the evening if needed. His attention to detail and care for his customers was truly noticeable and clearly a great new asset for the RIU Palace, (albeit not a new asset for the RIU family as his experience and the RIU way was clearly noticeable.) Well done to the entire team, all of which in whatever role they perform ALL contribute to a wonderful stay. We would finally just like to thank Chef Valentino who cooked us the most amazing anniversary meal whilst we stayed at the Palace and whilst we did thank him and Juan Santana (Sir Head Waiter) for organising the meal we would like to highlight this within this review as it went beyond our expectations. This Hotel is well worth a visit Barry and Bob More
Visited this hotel many times and never fails to give great service with a smile. A little disappointed that some of the luxury has gone missing in the last few months eg fruit and wine in the room. Hotel ready for a refurbish BUT don't let that put you off just hope that when refurb happens it doesn't go 'modern'More
Cool and calm
Just returned from a week a this wonderful hotel. Excellent position right on the dunes. We opted for half board and were not disappointed. The food was excellent with lots of choice. The staff at all levels were super, efficient and friendly. If you want the best G & T in the world get Antonio, in the main bar, to knock one up. This guy is class and should work at the Ritz!! The rooms are a good size and, as stated in some other comments, a bit dated but do not let this put you off. The pool areas are spacious and well laid out. A wonderful hotel for a winter break!More
This hotel gets 5 stars only because we managed to change rooms. We booked a standard room with patio or balcony. We arrived very late a night due to delayed flights, the room was beautiful but the patio had 2 huge palm trees shading it. The next morning we could not see the valcony would be shaded all day and had no view. We paid for an upgrade to a pool/ sea view which was worth every penny. Although the room was exacty the same the view and balcony changed everything. The hotel has a pleasant ambience, class and professional staff. Beautiful location by the dunes but it is a 10 minute walk to the nearest bus stop. The dining was mainly buffet which was very civilised - no scramble for tables or pushing and shoving. Food very good and varied. Entertainment is low key but there is something on every night and is advertised on the touch screen in the reception area. There was a tribute act to The Beatles who were first class act. Guests were mostly elderly and predominantly German and Scandinavian. Some people return year after year they ike it so much. There is an excellent pool area with plenty of loungers Three TUI reps were at their desks for much of the time there on signs of other tour operators. All in all an excellent hotel but make sure you don't get one of the patio roomsMore
A bit pricy but 100% worth it. Amazing big nice hotel with very friendly and polite staff. Beautiful rooms and delicious food. The location is fantastic and just beside the nicest views of the dunas. Everything was perfect and i will definitely come back.More
