Riu Palace Meloneras
This high-end hotel has a pair of pools tucked among its pristine gardens. And it’s right on the seafront, too.
The property is set among vast gardens and ocean-view terraces. Style-wise, everything's really contemporary. Bedrooms, for instance, are done out top-to-toe in cool grey.
In terms of location, it’s in a good spot with direct access to a car-free promenade and Maspalomas beach only a 12-minute walk away.

All services was excellent
Overall a very plesent stay, with great food and services. Location is super with nearby shopping possibilities. The hotel facilities are fully covering our expectations. The new years evening was a great experience. More
Rooms are clean, quiet, and spacious. Staff are polite, friendly, helpful and professional. Food is superb! Always a great choice and something for even the fussiest of diners. In short, this hotel has it all. Great pools, nice bars, excellent location. It’s just a shame a 5 star hotel charges for the room safe- just seems a little penny-pinching.More
Another great stay at this lovely Hotel
We thoroughly enjoyed our 4th trip to the Hotel! The location is ideal for 7 nights. Room great - we were in partial sea view which gets the sunshine morning thru till early afternoon - only thing missing was a Nespresso machine and would be great addition to the Rooms. Maid service excellent. Food in main Restaurant excellent. Staff are always professional, bright & helpful throughout the Hotel. Sunbeds available at whatever time of day you arrive at a Pool. No 'silly having to put towels out early' though some people still appear to do this! A couple of disappointments this trip: Krystal - the service felt rushed, no real explanation of Menu & wine pairing was just whether you 'wanted Red or White' & Dessert option. No real pairing going on. Evening Entertainment - the band that usually started 19.30 thru 21.00 and then 22.00 thru till close we did not think were very good this time. All in all a fab holiday and a Hotel we will return to in the futureMore
we had a great holiday at the RIU Palace. All the staff, from cleaning, kitchen, service and management, very friendly. A little too much noise, at 8 o'clock in the morning, from the cleaning carts. The buffets for breakfast and dinner were very extensive and well cared for, everything delicious. More
5 star - Excellent location
We have stayed at other Riu hotels so had no hesitation in booking at this resort. We had a garden room which are situated in the grounds of the hotel and requested a room on the higher level (there are only 2 levels). I was concerned that there would not be enough room for all 3 of us but this was not the case. The rooms are spacious and clean with plenty of room in the wardrobes etc. The room was cleaned every day if not twice on some days and the bathroom with walk in rain shower was huge with toiletries replenished every day if necessary, There are numerous pools at the hotel and whilst some guests decided to reserve sunbeds with the complimentary towels provided, we didn't find any problem finding spare sunbeds. There is waiter service round the pool and they were more than happy to help move parasols etc We stayed on a half board basis and the choice of food was excellent. Breakfast and evening meal is on a buffet service with ample choice for vegetarians. There is a strict long trouser policy for male guests in the evening as we observed a few men being turned away from the restaurant who were wearing shorts but this policy is made clear prior to entering the restaurant. You don't have to book in the main restaurant for evening meal, just turn up and wait to be seated. The only point I feedback to the hotel was that the labelling of some dishes could have clearer and more detailed to avoid confusion on some of the ingredients. That said, the restaurant staff were very helpful and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Drinks prices in the hotel was slightly higher that in other places but you are paying for an excellent location and 5 * service. The hotel is situated close to the centre of Meloneras with shops and restaurants nearby and the long sandy beach is a short stroll away. We also took the bus to Porto Morgan for a day trip which was about an hour and well worth the trip for anyone not hiring a car. We didn't always stay for the entertainment every night but when we did, we weren't disappointed. As with any Riu hotel we have stayed in, the friendly staff make this a winner, always helpful, service with a smile and as always spotlessly cleanMore
