A very good choice for the family
Palmeras Playas Just returned from a lovely week at this hotel . The hotel caters very much for families with children at this time of year . There were 5 of us in two rooms next to each other 2 at 60+ 2 at 30+ and a very lively 3 year old ! This was my 3rd visit to Majorca in the last 2 year’s so I’m pretty familiar with what to expect from 4 star here . It is a very busy but it is very well run hotel and a really good time was had by our family. The welcome at reception was excellent and we got through this with lots of info , towels and a key for the safe in double quick time. There is a deposit of 15 euro for each towel but it’s refundable. The towels can be changed daily. The room was very nice with a good pool view which is what nearly all rooms at this hotel have. It had two singles pushed together which isn’t ideal but it’s ok for a week . The room design is interesting they are like small suites and have a sofa the becomes a bed in the living area whilst the other beds are in the sleeping area which also has a spacious built in wardrobe. The beds are actually quite firm which bothered both my wife and my daughter. The rooms were kept very clean by the maids. Plenty of clean towels as needed changed daily. It was good to find a kettle with cups and the coffee, tea etc was replenished as used. There was a very good schedule of entertainment daily. The entertainment team worked really hard and delivered a lot of well received activities throughout the day . Every night there was a mini disco for the kids before Bingo (three nights a week) and then a group or singer etc until about 10.30 ish. We saw a couple of very good acts at the hotel . Of course tastes differ but we enjoyed them. It has a very nice pool a good size ,with a lifeguard in attendance all day and a lot of sun beds. There’s a separate babies pool next to the shallow part of the main pool which was nice for the little one . There is an issue with the hotel allowing people to put towels down early very very early morning . It’s a problem for a lot of hotels so - I haven’t got an answer other than the hotel saying towels before 7.30am - will be removed. This would give everyone a fair chance at a reasonable hour. The food was very good . The restaurant was very well run and the staff are very efficient and friendly. It was very clean and offered a wide range of food very much to the British taste compared to some I have stayed at on the island. The breakfast was very good with some decent bacon / ham and a range of sausages and other goodies in the breakfast buffet daily. The eggs are a difficult point . They are cooked in rings - so are cooked and solid all the way through - no runny yolk ahhh. I’ve stayed in a lot of 4 stars onMallorca and usually someone cooks the eggs how you like them - which for me is soft - sunny side. There is usually also an omelette chef which is also missing for breakfast . However it’s a small point in the whole experience and the upside is no queues and no waiting. Most nights there are chefs who cook to order Tuna Swordfish chicken or steaks . The griddled chicken was delicious. They did have a Mexican evening and a “ Mallorquian” table which had some nice local things including wonderful cheeses on it ! There were hardly any queues or waiting at all , which is not the case in many 4 star hotels. The drinks are all self serve in the restaurant and that includes beer and wines plus soft drinks. All went down very well with my lot ! The bar was good and there was very rarely a queue . Occasionally maybe two or three people to wait for . The beer was Estrella which was / is alway good .There are no big brand named spirits on offer on AIl Inc , only local spirits. We had a good range of these between us and all were ok . I used the gym a couple of times it’s ok to keep the ticker going and has air conditioning . Having eaten so much thought I,d make the effort ! We have had a very good holiday at the Palmeras playa especially the little one who loved it there especially the fun in the pool. It’s a well placed hotel two minutes walk from a lovely beach . I would without doubt recommend the hotel for families and I recon for couples out of peak time, hopefully I will return there again soon More
Fantastic 3rd year in a row!
We travel as a three generation group and find this hotel just perfect for everyone's needs. The massive draw for us to return year after year is the food - it is lovely and can't be faulted. The choice is enormous and everything is cooked well. We are not big alcohol drinkers so the house options are fine for 2 members of our party and the rest are more than happy with the soft options. The hotel is immaculately presented and the pool area is good for those not wanting a massive all singing all dancing 5 pool hotel. We go away just before UK state schools break up in July and find this to not be took manic! The hotel is 1 min max from the most lovely sandy beach - perfect for snorkelling and sunbathing in day and a lovely promenade walk of an evening after the mini disco ( we don't tend to stay for the adult entertainment as we would rather take a walk). Staff haven't changed since we started coming to the hotel and what this tells us is that they are looked after too and genuinely like the place. Bravo Palmeras Playa.. we will see you again next year hopefully!More
An Excellent Hotel
Wonderful holiday to celebrate our Anniversary. Amazing rooms, great location, excellent food, very good service and very clean. Reception staff always helpful . Only slight downside.....self serve wine was probably the worst i have ever tasted...stick to the beer, which was great.Lovely to see children enjoying themselves....but i do think they should be told to leave the bar about 10pm so that us adults can enjoy a drink without kids running around!! Otherwise a great holiday.More

Lovely family holiday
This is a really good hotel. Here are a few of my good points: • Clean rooms • Friendly staff - made a fuss of our little one • Good food • Good variety of food • Nice spacious dining area • Children’s entertainment was great • Bar was well stocked • Close to the beach • Convience stores close by • Plenty of sun beds around the pool • Adults only area clean and quiet • All pools clean • Children’s play area well shaded I seriously struggle to find anything bad about this hotel. Maybe the only downside of it is that you don’t get your choice of how your eggs are fried in the morning. Or that there’s a fee AND a deposit for the safe in your room. Be aware that you have to get up extra early to put a towel on a sunbed if you want a good position too. Adults entertainment can vary in quality so pick your evenings out wisely. Always finished by 11:30. More
