Hotel Platja d'Or
Combine an adults-only hotel with a beachside location and you’ve got a winning formula.
Just across a quiet road is the beach – miles of golden sand sandwiched between pine trees and shallow water. You’re a few minutes’ walk from the shops and bars of Playa de Muro, and about 20 from Alcudia.
This hotel holds a trump card – it’s adults-only, and we don't accept bookings for under 16s, so there’s a relaxed feel. It comes with a good-sized pool, a buffet restaurant and a bar.

If you want good food, plenty of drinks that won’t get you very drunk, and staff that are friendly to the British, give this hotel a whirl, top floor rooms are the best as long as the lifts are working, one of them gave up the ghost a few days before we left, shame but you can always use the stairs ! Every one was friendly including the staff, room was great , not massive but very clean and the towels were changed every day much to our surprise. Like every thing in life this hotel may not be for every one, so I suggest that the sea goers should stay on their boats! I would like to thank the management team and staff for a very pleasant week.More

ignore the moaning cruise people
just a lovely place to relax , food is nice, 7 day menu, which then repeats, lol.. staff very nice, rooms ok, and the beds are fun, if you are not careful in your positioning one of you may slip between and disappear, resulting in laughter and killing the moment.. bar staff, you can only get 2 drinks per person at the bar,,, bloody great idea, imagine 16 people waiting, and the one at the front wants 8 drinks, fastest bar in mallorca.. nice little pool, there can be a little queue at 8 for pool towels, but we go to the beach, but even at 9.00 there is plenty of empty beds round the pool. do pinch a little bread from breakfast and feed the fish at the beach.. 2 weeks we had.. with only 2 half days of rain, perfect time to catch the local bus and go to old town, dont do it on a sunday, busy.. the port is nice. taxi is about 8 euros, do try the bodega des en port. the chinese on the roof top near the port at taxi rank.. and on your last day loyyds chip shop , just back from the same taxi rank,, not the ritz but quality fish n chips with good hosts.. lots of friendly people at the hotel.. no kids... dont come for the entertainment . lol you may get 2 good shows in 2 weeks,, one show not to miss is the sonamar , very good,, unless youve been on a cruise ship. basically if you have only 2 weeks to spare and want to relax and chill out, then come here,, also free lilos and rubber rings, once the season has started folk just leave them by the pool .More
good value for money
stayed at this hotel ten nights from the 3rd of september 2019. we had a great stay / we were on the top floor overlooking the sea, could sea and beech on left and right trees right opposite us but was still good . staff in all departments were brilliant nothing to much trouble. evening entertainment very patchy good and bad food we could not fault, love that honey roast duck. at the bar got served in no time even when busy. Yes we would go back.More
We stayed here for 1 week. The hotel is lovely, clean and friendly. When we checked in we was advised we had to pay our touristax, it was a little more than I expected, but there’s not much you can do about this. I asked about a safety deposit box and we was advised this would cost us €2 per day, which I don’t find acceptable, paying for the satisfaction that your possessions are safe? You are able to hire it for specific days, which is what we did for when we went to the beach. Our room was on the 2nd floor, it was very clean and the bathroom was a good size. The bed was two singles pushed together which isn’t great however, the mattresses and pillows were very comfortable. The location of the hotel is excellent, you walk out of the main entrance, down a path directly in front and are on the beach, which is the most beautiful beach I have ever been on. There is a bus stop around the corner which takes you to the Marina or you can walk along the boardwalk on the beach (1 hour maximum). We also got on the bus one morning to go to Palma which cost around €13 way each way for the two of us. You are able to hire bikes from the hotel for €10 per day also. The food was lovely, the buffet was always fresh and kept topped up. There is also a station where the chef will cook fresh meats for you. The pool area was lovely, there are 3 pools, with the bars close by and plenty of sun beds and chairs to sit on. The swimming pools were absolutely freezing however, so not many people were in there. The entertainment was very disorganised in the evenings, often starting about 30 minutes after showing times that were written on the boards, so we mostly went out in the evenings. The staff at the hotel are all lovely, welcoming and helpful. I didn’t encounter one person who I didn’t feel was unapproachable. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay again. More
