Hotel Platja d'Or
Combine an adults-only hotel with a beachside location and you’ve got a winning formula.
Just across a quiet road is the beach – miles of golden sand sandwiched between pine trees and shallow water. You’re a few minutes’ walk from the shops and bars of Playa de Muro, and about 20 from Alcudia.
This hotel holds a trump card – it’s adults-only, and we don't accept bookings for under 16s, so there’s a relaxed feel. It comes with a good-sized pool, a buffet restaurant and a bar.

This hotel got it right!!
We got booked in and were very happy. The adults can have entertainment from 8pm, instead of waiting till nearly 10pm, when you are getting tired. The entertainment was to a high standard. Everyone seemed so happy and carefree. The staff were well organized and always cheery. It was a delight to sit roung the two pools and get a chair or sun lounger with ease.We have travelled many places but this hotel was very, very well organized. The food was good and very varied for all tastes.I loved the wee library just off reception: if you had read your books then you could do a swap there and all the books were in english as you will only find British people at this particular hotel. For those wanting a beach there is a private one across the road from the hotel:you use your bedroom key card to open the gate to the beach. We met many people who just wanted a chilled out holiday and they go there every year. You can walk to the shopping area or take the bus from a bus stop near the hotel. The drivers understand where you want to go which is great. The Sunday market is very good but remember it shuts at 13-30.The Tui workers are very hard working and will sort out problems for you. All in all, you couldnt make a better choice for an Adults only hotel. Remember and take treatments for sand flies or mosquitos in case you are bitten.Better safe than sorry. Dont go near the homemade thin doughrings as once tried, you want to go back for more, a lot more!!More
Nice and relaxing
We have been to this hotel about 4 times now and it never fails to impress us. Ok it’s not a five star but we think it’s great. It’s adults only and all English people mainly that stay here. The food is very good and a good selection through out the week. The rooms are a bit dated but we did hear that they are updating them this year starting on the top floor so you could be lucky and get these. It’s only a short stroll to a lovely beachMore
Great hotel, lovely garden area to sunbath in. food was great and the room was nice and clean. we used local bus to go into port alcudia a few times and to visit the market.. the bus drivers all understood where we wanted to go and knew our hotel stop for coming backMore
Very good value for the price paid
Our first all inclusive holiday in years The hotel was great and the staff were all very polite and friendly, we asked for a top floor room but on arrival we got a 2nd floor room which we didnt really like as it was very dark ,dated, we went down to reception and the manager? said cant change we are fully booked. I tried again when the evening staff came on,what a difference, the lady listened to me asked what we didn't like and then advised we could be moved in the morning when guests would check out. How one person can change your perception. Next day we got a room on the 4th floor, very quiet as we asked for facing the sea.The room was much brighter Next the restaurant, we are foodies and we found the food very exceptable for a 3star, we had seen critical reviews,I think people should look at what they are booking ,maybe the people moaning should up their budget. Breakfasts were fab as were the lunches/dinners, plenty of choice ,although not gourmet totally exceptable for what you pay, the Rose wine was very palatable ,The red was not my cup of tea. The bar staff were lovely and dont know how they kept up the smiles as they were constantly busy, and always charming. Kudos to them for their hard work. The pool area was also lovely , the only suggestion I would have is to cut back some of the trees as they created a lot of shade, probably perfect in July/Aug but for late Sept we wanted more sun. The beach is also lovely and a nice stroll into the town of about 35 /40 minutes More

This was our first time to this part of the Island. Although not as pretty as the Cala D’Or or Porto Christo side of the Island, we still thought it to be very pleasant. We normally only book 4 or 5 star hotels but thought we would give this hotel a go based on a good deal and the reviews. Well I have to say that the Plat’ja D’Or hotel did not disappoint. Although not literally on the beach as we are used to, the beach was just a 30 second stroll away across a very quiet road and through a pleasant little wooded garden area. The beach itself is simply glorious. The sand is golden, the water crystal clear. This hotel has a great location as it is in the quieter bit of Alcudia- things get busier just either side of it due to more family oriented hotels. Buses are frequent and cheap taking you to the lovely Port D’Alcudia, the gorgeous Old Town or the stunning Puerta Pollensa. In the other direction you can visit C’an Picafort. Buses will also take you to Palma if you fancy a longer jaunt on a cloudier day. If you fancy a more energetic stroll you can walk into Port D’Alcudia along the gorgeous beach. Takes about 40mins. We did that a couple of times. Just lovely. The hotel itself was superb. No gym or fancy gimmicks like that but simply a well run clean and pleasant little place to stay. We had a sea view room which was simply delightful and a real treat. The food was of an excellent standard as they appear to cater for the English palette and I felt that it was suitably varied. I do not eat meat and still found plenty of delicious things to choose from. The staff work tirelessly and are all very pleasant and helpful. The cleanliness, food choice etc is on par with a 4 star rating I would say. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this hotel.More
