Riu Costa del Sol
The Riu Costa del Sol's a blend of two beside-the-beach hotels, and it had a makeover in 2017.
The Riu Costa del Sol had a top-to-bottom refurb for summer 2017, so you can expect one beach-facing hotel with a glossy feel. You're well taken care of if the kids are in tow – they've got a splash playground and a packed activity timetable to work through.
There’s a long sandy beach just across the road, which you can reach in less than a minute’s walk. Torremolinos’ lively centre is a little further on, and a cab gets you there in five.

We stayed for a week during May half-term and had a fantastic time. The queue to check-in was a little annoying but only took about twenty minutes. Miguel was friendly and explained everything to us clearly. Our room (5216) was absolutely amazing - spacious, bright and with a wonderful view of the sherry pool and the sea in the distance. Sunbeds were always available at any time of the day although you had to be out a bit earlier to have a parasol. Our favourite pool was the sherry although all three were a bit chilly at times! The food was typical Riu and is why we are so loyal to Riu as a chain. We avoided the main buffet restaurant whenever possible as it was just too big and busy. We enjoyed breakfast and lunch in the Spanish restaurant every day and were always greeted with a smile by Nieves. We alternated dinner between the Spanish and Italian. We thoroughly enjoyed all of our meals but especially our special evening in the Italian on my partner’s birthday - a small gesture but much appreciated. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We were also hugely impressed by the entertainment team - the best shows we have ever seen abroad! Just two negatives - the Take That tribute show was awful - much preferred the entertainment team’s own shows and smoking everywhere. This isn’t just the hotel’s fault and I do believe other guests should be considerate of the fact that most people don’t wish to inhale their smoke. All in all, we had a truly magical holiday at Riu Costa del Sol and would happily return in the future. Until then, the Riu Vistamar is calling for August!More
Fantastic hotel, excellent facilities, selection of food and drinks with the all inclusive was amazing, entertainment is out of this world and the staff just can’t do enough to make your stay an enjoyable one. Highly recommended. More

Beware low level rooms.....
Last evening - Saturday 8 June 2019 somebody got onto the lower level balconies facing Calle Babalonica (ironic) and stole items from the balconies. I recovered some things that had been dumped on the street, but all the "good stuff" had gone. There is cctv.....on the gate....but not on the chest high wall next to it. Difficult to see how the hotel could improve things - nobody would accept fully enclosed balconies, but Security appears to be based solely at the well lit, permanently manned front entrance. Nice hotel, but if in these rooms don't leave anything you value on your balcony overnight 😢More
