Riu Costa del Sol
The Riu Costa del Sol's a blend of two beside-the-beach hotels, and it had a makeover in 2017.
The Riu Costa del Sol had a top-to-bottom refurb for summer 2017, so you can expect one beach-facing hotel with a glossy feel. You're well taken care of if the kids are in tow – they've got a splash playground and a packed activity timetable to work through.
There’s a long sandy beach just across the road, which you can reach in less than a minute’s walk. Torremolinos’ lively centre is a little further on, and a cab gets you there in five.

We have just got back from our first family holiday at Riu Costa Del Sol and we really enjoyed ourselves! Our baby is 10 month old and the staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful to our needs. The food is really good for all inclusive food, the drinks are great and available 24 hours. Large bottles of water are available at all bars whenever you want them and the water is low sodium and has a little sign on the label signalling that it can be used to make baby bottles, which was really helpful for us and I wanted to mention it in the review just so other guests staying in the future with babies know that they won’t have to go out on an expedition on arrival for suitable bottled water. There are lots of pools to choose from but we spent our time around the baby pool, which like every where else in the hotel, was spotlessly clean. I had no issues about my baby crawling around the grounds/hotel room as I never seen one bit of dirt, dust or grime. The housekeeping are all very pleasant and really spend time making sure the rooms are properly cleaned every day. You can sit inside or outside for all the restaurants and it is lovely overlooking the sea during mealtimes. The restaurant staff were very accommodating and were always happy to provide highchairs on request (highchairs also very clean, which is definitely not usual when eating out with a baby!). There was plenty of choice in the restaurants for all the family. We especially liked the Spanish restaurant which is Asian Monday’s and tuesdays. We were very impressed with this hotel and even though we are not the sort to go to the same place again and again, we have already booked to go next year. We can’t wait!More
My wife and I spent a week here from 29th Sept to 6th Oct and we had a fantastic week - not because the weather was unremarkable but our stay at the Riu was lovely. Hotel was clean and spotless, grounds were beautifully kept and the bars and pools were not too busy in the hotel. The only thing I would say that it is a little bit slippery when you get out of the pool but as long as you were careful it was fine. The reception staff were really helpful and pleasant also. Water was also provided whenever you wanted it in bottles so we would top the fridge in our room up. Would recommend the Italian restaurant but would say fill up on your starters as the main is quite small but very very nice. If you want to use the gym there could be a wait as it is very small with one running machine working only but it’s pleasant there, the steam room though was very good and the indoor spa pool. The walk to the Mariner was a long way but was a lovely walk with lots of bars and restaurants if you wanted to stop off. We went to Torremolinos town by taxi and if you want to buy anything would recommend looking here as well as on the seafront as exactly the same things can be bought there but quite a bit cheaper. We did really have a nice timeMore

Yet again Tui has succeeded in creating a fantastic hotel , absolutely spotless, lovely food , drinks and staff very friendly , will definitely be returning to this hotel for another visit , simply cannot fault anything about our stay More
Lovely staff, lovely hotel
Staff where very pleasant and work hard s you enjoy your stay. However I would say the security guard who stands at the entrance was quiet intimidating and observed him running at full speed from outside into the reception area to reprimand a woman who walked through in her wet flip flops - he then motioned her to cover herself up, which I thought wasn't very appropriate. If you cannot walk through the reception in wet flip flops just put a sign up for people to read - or if he did his job correctly in the fist place - stopped her from going in. The food was lovely and plenty to choose from. I felt the sunbeds where "packed in together" in a regimental line up and no space to move the sunbeds around. It lacked areas to relax in the night time - only choice was where the entertainment area was, we don't want to sit through a mini disco each night - you can sit outside but as this was near the restaurants people get there seats early (before 7pm) and dine, then sit there all night. The hotel is large and we where at the back of the hotel, but didn't mind the walk. If you suffer from mobility please make them aware of it. There is a bar at this end of the hotel but nothing else. There is no waiter service, so you queue up for drinks. We found the seating uncomfortable at this bar. The hotel was extremely clean. No onsite shop but there is a shop over the roadMore
A relaxing stay.
Stayed here for 10 days, We arrived late but reception arranged for us to have a meal. Hotel is very clean although not helped by weekend guests around the pool areas. ( observation only). As this hotel is situated on the sea front, it is nice to walk to the veriaty of shops and bars. Even got the train a few times and was a pleasent experiance. Will gladly stay here again for another relaxing stay.More
