Riu Costa del Sol
The Riu Costa del Sol's a blend of two beside-the-beach hotels, and it had a makeover in 2017.
The Riu Costa del Sol had a top-to-bottom refurb for summer 2017, so you can expect one beach-facing hotel with a glossy feel. You're well taken care of if the kids are in tow – they've got a splash playground and a packed activity timetable to work through.
There’s a long sandy beach just across the road, which you can reach in less than a minute’s walk. Torremolinos’ lively centre is a little further on, and a cab gets you there in five.

A tremendously good hotel, with very friendly and smiling helpful staff. The hotel is nice and clean and there are good facilities throughout the day, for both adults and children. The restaurant and dining options are really good. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay at the hotel.More
Fabulous couple holiday! Something for everyone.
On booking the holiday, we were a bit apprehensive as it was our first one in the school holidays. We were so wrong! The hotel is presented pristinely, with staff working at all hours to keep up its high standards. On arrival there were numerous staff at the desk so check in was very swift and our room was ready early which was a result. Hotel also offers free pool towers (which can be changed if wet/dirty daily) at two of the main pools. Choice of 4/5 pools plus a splashzone for children meant that people were never on top of each other! Drinks - proper Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, and Fanta Lemon/Orange too! Drinks were delicious. A range of cocktails and spirits, even pink gin! Just be careful on the size of the shots!! Drinks available 24 hours a day if you want them at the 5/6 different bars. Self service by the pool too. Breakfast - my favourite meal of the day! Cups of tea in the morning delicious and coffee served to you, should you want it. There were pancakes, churros, fresh fruit, bread, croissants, cooked English breakfast, fresh smoothies, hot chocolates, salad and meats... even bubbly some days! Lunch - Again a fabulous selection and two restaurants to choose from, so you could have a bit of variation if you wanted. If you were not yet hungry after the amazing breakfast, then you could wait as there's a snack bar 15:30-17:30 with toasties, burgers, hot dogs and salad. As well as ice cream of course! Dinner - A wonderful selection and always plenty for us to choose from. Guests MUST try the al a carte restaurants - Italian, and Spanish (doubles up as Asian). These are bookable from reception but we never had a problem getting a space. A lovely touch in all inclusive. Plus the Asian was delicious! Nevertheless, at each meal time there were at least 3 chefs cooking food live. Staff would show you to your table and offer you water which was served, another nice touch. Local area - if you are like us, you like to get out and explore a little. Beach is just across the road which is amazing, with plenty of restaurants lining the promenade. A number of pubs/bars too (if you want to pay for a drink that is!!) - especially The Blarney Stone and Players Bar. Although, drinks are available 24 hours a day at the Riu Costa Del Sol (sports bar 7pm-8am, which also serves snacks should you want them!!). We also went on trips to Gibraltar, Marbella & Puerto Banus and took a train to Malaga which was only €4 for a return. FYI The airport is also on this same train line - super easy if you don't have transfers. Entertainment team - what can I say? Just amazing. We are two 20-somethings but got involved in the entertainment. They work all day long and ensure that everyone has a fabulous holiday. Aqua fit every day, free gym, bingo (you win a bottle of fizz if you win this!!), plenty of sports and not to mention the hotel dance that everyone ends up doing (we are still listening to the song!). The entertainment in the evening was also excellent, yes some miming but their dancing is incredible. Special mention to Alex who is in charge of entertainment - puts SO much effort in! Our room - bed was super comfy, air con worked really well, and we even had his & hers sinks! When we arrived, the maid had created an elephant from the towels and left sweets on the bed. Room cleaned every day and new towels if we wanted them. Lovely! We truly did not want to leave and have already looked at booking next year. We met a number of different guests who thought the same, and one who had been there in June but had already rebooked for August the same year! Testament to this amazing hotel, thank you all!More
Holiday in sun
Great holiday exactly as expected. Food superb, staff wonderful, entertainment entertaining, very clean and kept that way through out hotel. 4 swimming pools with loungers always available. Several bar areas with a few self-service points too. Wonderful More
Just returned from this hotel after an 11night stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable the maids are excellent.Food is of a high standard and plentiful. All staff in this hotel are friendly and hard working. The entertainment however is not up to standard.Miming badly to Broadway musicals is a poor form of entertainment.More
I travelled with my 6 year old and my parents who are in their 70’s and we all had a lovely holiday. All the staff were amazing the entertainment staff did not stop entertaining all through the day and through the evening. My daughter loved going to the kids club where she was looked after by the entertainment staff she wanted to go to all the sessions available. There was a wide range of food on offer for all meals and you even had a late breakfast room so you could lay in if you could. The only thing for children that was not on offer was ice creams and lolly’s but it did not affect our holiday. The cleaning staff were also great. We will definitely be returning to this hotel. More
