Smart efficient hotel
We had two weeks in the Rio Monica in November. We loved the location, overlooking the sea and about 15 minutes from the Balcon of Europe. Our room was spacious and very clean. We particularly liked the food which was varied and very fresh. There was always a fish option which we enjoyed. Every member of the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. It is easy to visit Frigiliana, the amazing caves and Malaga using the local buses although the bus stop is quite a steep 15/20 minute walk from the hotel.More
Always need a lot of Monica in our lives
Our second visit and although 12 months apart many of the staff recognised us which made us feel right at home. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We always say that food is subjective but we could always find something. One thing that really impressed was if a guest happened to drop cutlery the dining room staff immediately resolved the situation (even saw chefs getting involved).More

Riu Monica "Jewel in Nerja's Crown"
This was our first stay in this hotel and it was memorable for all the right reasons, the customer service is second to none and we can understand why guests return many times. The location, rooms and restaurants are excellent. We ate in the Spanish Ole Restaurant too and it is really worth a visit. The many sitting areas, pools and bars make it the complete holiday experience even before even stepping outside to see the Lovely Nerja town, mountains and coast.More
We went for 10 days on a package holiday. We have been to Nerja many times but never to the Monica. We thoroughly enjoyed the food which was good quality and accommodation was first class. Staff were helpful and attentive will certainly return.More
