New Year Holiday
A bit late with the review but as the saying goes better late than never.Went to the Florida Spa for the New Year (stayed 26th Dec-9th Jan) and again was not disappointed. Yes the Hotel is slowly reaching the point when a lick of paint and some of the bath/shower room fittings need a bit of TLC (minor details) but seriously it's a great Hotel in a great location. The staff are very helpful and the food in the restaurant is very good. Yes the food can get a bit repetitive if like ourselves you stay for a fortnight but there is plenty of choice and no shortage of restaurants locally if you want a change. The big Market venue is not too far away and so to are the bus and train stations and of course the shops. A wonderful job by the staff in preparing and presenting the New Year Gala evening, thoroughly enjoyable A big thanks also to "Pedro" on reception in sorting a room change for us a couple of days after arriving which had a much better view. Not the first visit to the Florida Spa and would certainly recommend it to anyone.Would also recommend a sea view and to go the extra mile a superior room on floor 8 to 12 a must.More
Please Don’t Renovate this Fabulous Hotel
This Hotel as become a firm favourite for our regular January Getaway from the cold Break. Yes it’s a little dated but everything thing works and the Staff are better each time we visit. The Hotel is Spotless and the Food is always served piping hot and a huge variety to suit the most fussy of eaters. More
NO SUBTITLES ON TELLY!
My Mother in law is staying here fo five weeks and wears hearing aids. Shortly after arriving in the room I tried to set up her subtitles on the TV for her but found it impossible so went to reception. I was told that the matter was with the service provider and that it would be sorted in two or three days. That was thirteen days ago now, and don’t think they have any plans whatsoever for subtitles on the TV’s so if your hard of hearing steer clear of this hotel. She was told she turn the volume up, but that isn’t fair for other clients in the next rooms and it doesn’t help anyway. It’s a shame really as this is a very good hotel and would have got 4/5 stars.More
Currently staying at this hotel.Fab location, right by the beach, town close by,good train and bus service.Staff are friendly and can't do enough for you. Food is excellent, something to suit everyone.Highly recommend, will definitely return soon. Thanks to all the staff at Florida Spa xMore
Stayed for the second year running, on the 11th floor wonderful sea view and marina, perfectly located, 50 yards from beach/ marina, 5 minute walk to centre, bus station and railway station. We must say the staff at the hotel were absolutey lovely nothing too much trouble, food good, breakfast great assortment, our only gripe that the bacon was aweful, cheap streaky bacon, evening meal great selection of meals, our only gripe was some of the vegetables you would not cook them for the meats you had, but that was only minor, entertainment was hit and miss some good some poor but you cannot please everybody. the hotel itseklf is wonderfully clean as are the rooms but the hotel is in need of a full refurbishment, it was very tired, please dont be put off with my comments its a lovely hotel and people return year after year, will i go back yes of course the new years eve gala dinner was brilliant, well done Florida Spa staff.More
