If you don't smoke, don't come
Impossible to avoid people who smoke absolutely everywhere. Poolside, outside eating, outside bars, everywhere. The dining experience is a noisy free-for-all. Outside pools cold in may so little ones find it hard to stay in. I think it has the potential to be nice.More
Good average place if you are nonvegetarian. If you are vegetarian then definitely better than grazing in the field. We complained about food and first choice said that speak to man in black dress and he will sort you out. We did every single time and they put us in touch with other non English speaking staff and no result whatsoever. I gave up in the end. They offered us free kids swimming lesson but we didn't come this far for free lessons on all inclusive holiday but still better than nothing. The worst part is that even though we told them in advance that we are vegetarian, we arrived midnight and guess what non vegetarian food was there in the room. They then provided bread butter and fruit by 1am. The bed was wobbly and they got sorted after repeat complains. I am still on holidays, and missing home. Today sleeping hungry because American burger was basically and lump of spinach - kind of disgusting looking and tasting like baby food. :( :( :(More
Fabulous family holiday
Family holiday with daughter, son in law two grandsons & my son in laws mum . This holiday village is perfect for families, the children are entertained by great reps . As older adults we had no complaints, the staff work so hard with long days , bar staff service was great, queues went down quickly. Food, the choices are good, always something for most people, we ate really well, yes it is busy & noisy at meal times, remember there are lots children and parents trying to juggle food choices for their children, the italian & American restaurants are a good choice for a different experience. Snack bar at lunch great for munching around the pool, we enjoyed the beach club restaurant. Staff always helpful and attentive. Cleaners always working around the hotel . Reception staff were very helpful and often had a a lot of guests to check in . Beach is aprox 15 minutes walk away reached by steps not too difficult , yo can also access further down if you’re unable to manage steps . Quiter end of fuengirola . Theres a train nearby that takes you either way toward malaga or fuengirola , we used it to access the cable cars , fairly simple to use . Also bus stop outside the hotel, number 120 takes you to benalmadena to access marina & shops etc. Rooms are large with bath and separate shower in the bathroom. Also a small kitchen very handy for families, we only used it for making a cup of tea. Again clean and regular towels changed. I certainly would come back & I know my family enjoyed all the facilities at this well run hotel. Thankyou everyone at holiday village costa de sol we loved our time at your hotel & are grateful for all the hard working staff.More
Just coming to the end of a weeks holiday at holiday village. Lovely hotel split into 2 blocks but connected, I had booked a quiet room on a high floor, I didn't pay extra for a sea view but we had a sea view anyway, was lovely. I have stayed on this complex previously at the Polynesia, the complex itself is lovely especially the water park , we spent most of the time there. The hotel side pool is massive and this is were most of the kids entertainment takes place as well as inside areas , plenty for the kids to do with all the activity.s that are laid on. We had the choice of early evening meal or later , we opted for the later as we didn't have small children. The rooms are plenty spacious with a small kitchen with kettle , large bathroom with 2 sinks 2 showers and bath , plenty of hot water , bedroom has 2 large beds with pull out bed in living room and large balcony . Some furniture was showing signs of wear and tear but over all a lovely room with fantastic views . Beach is 10 min walk away and there are taxis and bus stops at the entrance to the complex to take you either way into benalmadena or fuengarola. There are no local shops outside the complex but there is an onsite supermarket . The only downside for me was sometimes the food , some days fantastic others not so good but there was always plenty of choice so you won't go hungry. You get the option of eating in the onsite burger restaurant and Italian , 1 visit in each per week . We did both and really enjoyed that especially the Italian . We were lucky with the weather very warm most days. The pools feel very cold but if you get in quick it's lovely. If I returned to this complex I would choose hotel Polynesia as I found that one to be slightly better but overall a very enjoyable week. Forgot to say all the staff were lovely and very approachable especially the rep.s, all very young but absolutely fantastic , they did a great job. Overall a lovely holiday , thankyou holiday village .More
Stayed in room 555. View was pretty good actually, facing the sea every morning was lovely. This was the first time the 3 grand-kids had ever been on a foreign holiday. The room itself met our needs, having 2 showers in the bathroom was areal bonus. The bedroom was quite spacious and so was the living/dining area. The restaurant was just fit for purpose, most of the food was utterly tasteless and the mess around the food stations was just disgusting, some people really do live like pigs. The pool was excellent and there was always something going on, we could hardly get the kids out some days. The poolside snack bar was okay, again some people are just dirty with the mess they leave. Evening entertainment was brilliant for kids, the entertainment teams where just brilliant with all ages. For adults it was a bit dull. In general this place does have what it takes to make a decent holiday, its just a small element of bad mannered punters and staff, but past that its a okay place to stay for a week.More
