I just want to post something positive to counter all the negative reviews. We stayed at RBW for a week, returning a few days ago. It was our second time there (me, spouse, two kids), and this time we also brought my parents and my sister and her husband. We are already trying to plan another trip later this year. Just to start with this: never had a problem with hot water, power, or chair availability. The staff were amazing - caring and kind, professional, and took their jobs in hospitality very seriously. The concierge, Petrece, took so much time to help us set up special experiences (like cabana rental, the culinary experience, and a lovely family beach dinner). My parents and sister were in the Chairman's suite and we were in a neighboring junior suite. All rooms were in great shape, new, clean, comfortable. The butlers - Bernadine and Tessalee - were always around trying to see if we needed anything and making the trip special for us (seriously, they work too hard!). We had a Cabana and the pool butlers - Levaughan, Peter, and Wayne - were amazing (so is Wilford, but we didn't see him much this year, just know he's great from last year). Leo also came around with really great mixed drinks (nothing was watered down at all - I'm always confused when I see that complaint on her). The pool bartenders were great, especially Andre. The food was all delicious, but especially the jerk chicken and patties, the culinary experience (chef is seriously talented, my family agreed that the calamari was probably the best we have ever had and the rest of the dishes were phenomenal), and the food at armadillo. My parents did a photo package and were very pleased with it. My mom really enjoyed the water aerobics and our family had fun with the pool trivia. My sister did a morning TRX class that turned out to be just her, which she loved - and she's in seriously good shape so it takes a lot to impress her (it was the equivalent of a 9am personal training session on the main stage - and the rest of us definitely watched her from the balcony while drinking mimosas). We also spent some time at the spa and had really nice massages and pedicures. My daughter had her hair braided by Sandra on the beach, and we got some really nice souvenirs on the beach from Peaches as well (yes, the people on the beach will try to sell you things, but are lovely and understand when you say you're all set. Yes, you can get marijuana, which I'll note is decriminalized in Jamaica and legal in many places in the states and just not a big deal - and no, they won't push it on you or be indiscreet when kids are around). I'm always wary of reviews with no negatives, so here goes. The slides were intermittently closed (there are four slides and most of the time only two were working at a time, although it did rotate). Some days the BW pool buffet and jerk shack didn't have patties (although luckily for us the White sands diamond club lounge did). My daughter didn't like the boxed milk or the pancake syrup (and she thought the chicken fingers were too spicy but she was dead wrong about that and one day we will set her straight 😂). If you have questions, ask.More
Royalton Blue Waters was one of the best vacations we’ve had. I cannot say enough about the staff. A special mention and thumbs up to Leo Anderson. He went above and beyond to help make our stay perfect. He truly knows the meaning of customer care! I can’t wait to come backMore
Times are changing
We recently visited the Royalton Blue Waters for the second time in 6 months, this has been our third visit since it opened. Things have changed since the opening BUT most people wouldn't notice unless you have been there before. Let's start with the good: -rooms-always perfect, always clean and always with the best view no matter what you book -beach-beautiful beach well maintained and you can take long walks even past the resort safely -seating- they were in the process of changing all the beds as the old ones had seen better days, you had to get up early to get a bed however but that happens everywhere -beach service-Kevis and Akeem were FANTASTIC!!!!! always making sure that we were ok -towels-don't understand the complaints there were always fresh towels on the carts, we did notice people taking more towels that needed and leaving them there not used -ambiance is always great, if you wanted to sit in the entertainment area you could watch shows and listen to loud music, or you could sit at the Martini Bars located in both resorts. Music is piped throughout the resort -PARTY LEO!!!! he remembered us from our last stay brought out our fav drink came by daily to make sure everything was OK and made us feel like we mattered STAFF- amazing, from the bar tenders, beach staff, towel staff, cleaning staff, waiters at the bars, coffee house.........the list goes on. I read a review that staff should greet you and thank you.. they do but you have to show some degree of respect to them enough said about that Now for the things that need a little tweaking -check in- seems they never have enough staff for larger groups and check in, our check in was at 9pm and we didnt get to our room until an hour and a half later, they were all working efficiently but there just wasn't enough staff -food-this one was the most troublesome for me, our first visit was great, everything was on point, our visit in November was off and this one was worse. Breakfast and lunch were good not great but dinner was a disaster. They had 2 outdoor dinners that went along with the shows, we were served dry roast beef both times with very little variety of sides that made any sense. Everything seems to taste the same now with little effort to bring something new to the table, -drinks-we went to 3 bars one night to find a good drink, all bars were out of anything brand name...this was surprising because our first few trips we had all top shelf brand named liquor. The next day people from Tui were at the resort and everything was out, every liquor was amazingly available Overall would I return? Yes but unfortunately not my first choice in Jamaica. This place had the top 3, food, beach and cleanliness but 2 out of 3 ain't that badMore
Worth every expense. Will return
This a was relaxing experience. The overall experience was totally worth it. The food the drinks, the slides, the lazy river and the service from all the hotel employees. The beach was absolutely stunning and nothing but great weather. This hotel really has something for everyone. Great for families, couples, loners. Such a welcoming atmosphere and respectful to the guests. One person I'd like to mention is Nick. This guy made my trip memorable. He provided a lot of information to me and helped me stay on track and push myself while I was gone. Good on ya brother. Ya mon! Keep that energy and that hard work. I will return.More
Our stay at Royalton Blue Waters
My wife and I recently stayed at Royalton Blue Waters. This was our first time out of our country and we really did not know what to expect. I can tell you that this resort was top notch. The staff never hesitated to help when asked or even when not asked. The rooms were cleaned every day, beds were made every day, fresh towels every day, and so on. The staff loved to talk to the guests, ask to make sure our stay was going well. There were so many that helped us that I could not even begin to remember their names. All of them deserve to be praised. If I had one complaint, it would be the food. However, I tend to be a fussy person, cautious about what I eat. I did not care for the food but then again, I was tourist from another country. The staff did their best to make the food taste like my home country but it was not all that good. Again, I am a fussy person so i would not hold that against them. I recommend that no else does either. The pools were fantastic, always clean and clear. They were enjoyable. The one pool had a swim up bar but I did not get in that pool. No reason, just did not happen. We stayed on the beach for most of the day. Again, really awesome. I personally have not experienced anything like that. The servers checked in with you about every 15 minutes to see if you want more drinks. Fresh towels were available when you asked for them. The beach was clean and quite relaxing. As for our room, what can I say, beyond what I expected. If you like an ocean view, make sure to ask for it. If you want the swim out room, then you will get an ocean view. There are lots of obstructions at the ground level and if you have the swim out rooms, you will not have an ocean view.More
