The food, amenities, butler, semi-private swim up pool were all amazing. I would definitely recommend this resort. It has the best Jamaican food I have tasted outside of my grandmother and mother who were born in Jamaica. The staff, ALL employees went above and beyond to ensure that my family and I enjoyed our stay. It was worth the money to upgrade to the Diamond Service. It has a completely separate location. I have stayed at many of the large chain resorts in the Caribbean. By far, this has been the best. I can't wait for COVID-19 to be over to book my next trip. I would NOT change anything.More
Amazing Vibe Team!
Our trip to Jamaica to celebrate our birthdays turned out to be more fun than we imagined! We stayed at the Hideaway at Royalton Negril. Adults Only pool and entertainment? Yes, please! A giant shout out to the Vibe Team for making our vacation even more fun! I can't say enough about how AMAZING they are! If you're not hanging with the Vibe Team, you don't know what you're missing! Let me start with Junior, the sexiest man alive. From the games to the raps to rocking the mic. Junior is awesome at what he does! Next up is Zatar. He doesn't talk as much as Junior but he makes up for it with his dance skills! Those hips don't lie! He is super talented and his dancing is amazing! And Shemar not THE Shemar but our Shemar! He kept us having fun! These guys kept us entertained and helped me enjoy the best vacation! I cannot wait to go back and see my Vibe Team guys! The Hideaway at Royalton Negril would be boring without them. It would be a completely different experience.More
Pre Christmas Getaway almost made us want to get away...
I raved about Royalton Negril to my husband after having come here once before in 2017 with a friend. We decided to do our annual trip here. However coming the week of Christmas may not have been the best decision. On arrival our names could not be found by the bellman, who sent us to the Diamond Club check in mistakenly. My husband and I ended up being separated while he went to park and I tried to sort out check in. We went up and down via golf cart to sort out the check in process and by the time it was sorted I was most distressed. I expressed my frustration with the front desk and we were nicely given an upgrade to a larger suite, I suppose as consolation. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the gym. Its the most modern gym of any hotel we've visited thus far. I went to the spa for a mani/pedi. While my pedi came out great, my mani left little to be desired. The massage chair in the spa was wonderful though! The property seemed to be at capacity as we had waits to get into the restaurants. The steakhouse did not disappoint! Highly recommend. Our check out day fell on Christmas Eve and it was not pleasant at all. Most of the property was on lockdown for Christnas prep so trying to find somewhere to eat in-between standard meal times was futile! On that note we decided to just checkout and leave, thus leaving the end of our visit on a sour note. Nevertheless, Royalton Negril is worth the visit but be mindful of the limited services possibly available during holiday seasons.More
Exceeded my expectations
The room was very spacious, we had a Jacuzzi on our balcony and the perfect view of the ocean. The room decor was very modern the bed was super comfortable. The pool was fun just didnt like that there was a lock off point. The food was scrumptious, I enjoyed every meal I had.More
Overall, a brilliant stay. Negatives: - Check in process: our journey to the resort had many delays, including a broken down bus. This left my partner and I feeling a little less fresh than we could have been. Check in was a lengthy process which involved filling in lots of forms, listening to an introductory speech, and waiting what felt like an age for someone to show us to our rooms (we would have preferred a resort map and a key as we were exhausted). Whether it was a culmination of the delays and all the waiting around or whether check in is just a bit over the top in general, we did not find it a great experience. To top it off, when we got to the room the mini bar was empty and we had to wait over an hour for water to be brought to us. (It was around 8pm in Jamaica so I am sure the staff were very busy in the restaurants) Positives: - Rooms: stunning rooms with an amazing shower and comfy beds. We ended up with an ocean view room and a huge balcony. The room was clean with regular maid services. The air conditioning was great. - Beach: there are three beach areas, including the Diamond club (which we were not). The beach closest to the main stage was where we spent most of our holiday. It was peaceful and secluded so perfect for relaxing and reading. I found the pool to be too noisy for my tastes (though my partner thought it was a great atmosphere there.) - Drinks: easy to get what you want, when you want it. The coffee bar is amazing. The cocktails during the day are not too strong and very refreshing - in some all inclusive I have been to, they are either very weak or too strong to enjoy. They is a great variety of cocktails to try, too, and even some great mocktails. The only thing I was not a fan of was the wine. - Food: Having 7 a la Carter restaurants, food trucks, pizza takeaways, plus the buffet spoilt us for choice. We only ate in the buffet once in the evening, once during the day, and the for breakfast. All the food was great. There can be longish waits for restaurants as you cannot reserve. We liked that you could not make reservations as it meant we could eat where we fancied and did not have to stick to a plan. If you go down for dinner knowing you will have up to an hour wait, it isn’t a big deal. You can just have a cocktail or two and enjoy each other’s company. We had room service one night. This was fine. Not great quality but no worse than a takeaway. - Staff: people are people. Some were fantastic, some average, and some incredibly grumpy. They are quite informal and do things on Caribbean time. Again, if you expect that, then it isn’t a big deal. - Sea and sand: there was seaweed. It is a hazard of going in the sea. Not a big deal and the staff keep the beach pretty clear of it. You can borrow snorkelling gear for free from the resort which is a great choice as there is so much marine life. We say rays, lobster, star fish, and so much more. We enjoyed ourselves we booked a stay in Royalton Bavaro as soon as we got back. General: - Our room had slight wear and tear in places but that did not detract from our stay. - Some guests (they generally seemed to be American, but that is not to say it was all Americans) were exceptionally rude to the staff and towards other guests. They seemed to treat the staff as if they were not people. It was uncomfortable to watch. We are generally chilled on holiday but a fair amount of the guests wanted everything right then and there with no please or thank you and seemed to find themselves more important than other guests and staff alike. Maybe this is a culture thing, or maybe we were just unlucky enough to encounter a lot of rude people, either way, I don’t know how some of the staff kept their temper. - I was ill after eating in one of the restaurants. I do think it was my meal. However, my partner ate the same meal and was fine. The rest of the stay was great in that respect, and It is really no different from eating elsewhere. - I had been super excited to have a jacuzzi bath however it was simply too hot to bother! - Royalton have a theme song. It irritated the life out of me while I was there but now I kind of miss it.More
