WORST HOTEL STAY DISRESPECTED BY “MANAGER” AT THE ZEN RESTAURANT PLUS MANY MORE
This weekend at Royalton Negril was planned as a lil get away from all the hustle and bustle, but instead it turned out to be the worst experience. Prior to arrival we were advised to call the day before arrival to make reservation form the Zen restaurant which was done, on arrival we went to the guest services desk and my friend spoke with Latoya , she asked my friend if her name was “Miller” she said yes ( she did not check the books nor the system she just asked this) and she stated our reservation was confirmed for 8:30 at the Zen.Our Front Desk agent ( Kadisha) was very professional and did a great job. We went to the bar across from the jerk hut and workers were there using expletives and just being loud and unprofessional, that was a big turn off.. We went to the Zen for our reservation after we gave the Hostess the name the reservation was made under she advised us that they do not have a reservation for us and went on to say they are full and we would have to dine else where, so we requested a manager, she went and came back with Conrad! Conrad has the title of the manager but not the attributes of one Conrad came by he didn’t introduce himself , he asked what’s the issue , he was advised of the issue. Conrad went on to say in a very dismissive tone, telling us that no reservation was made and it’s not their fault because they are not the ones who does reservations and he went on to say it’s either one of two things, either we wait outside to see if there Is a cancellation or we dine at a la Carte we advised him we made the reservation because we wanted to be apart of the live cooking , he then went on to say “ well step outside for 15mins I’ll come to you if something comes up” still in a dismissive tone ( up to this point he haven’t apologised for the inconvenience nor did he make any checks with guest services to see if we had a reservation) , we made our way to the guest services desk and spoke to another agent who checked the books and realised Latoya did indeed make a reservation. So we went back to the Zen when the agent spoke to the “manager” Conrad . Conrad In in a very unprofessional and disrespectful tone went on to say to my friend “ I frankly said wait outside for 15 mins didn’t I?) my friend went on to explain that she wasn’t pleased Conrad went on to say “No, I asked you a simple question answer” Now that’s when I lost it. I said to him that he’s being very dismissive and disrespectful, he ignore and continue bombarding my friend in an aggressive tone, so I looked at his name tag to write his name down and he boldly said yes it’s Conrad you can go report, he then went on to say to my friend ( it was 3 of us) come this way miss, so I asked is he only going to seat her ? Because he only addressed her , he then blew down a deep breath and repeated that my friend should come with him!!! anyways we all went it !!!!!! , and I should add his attitude towards the Caucasian couple behind us was very warm and friendly, funny right! After dinner we went to our room to change we were in our room that we paid for in our space only to get a call from front desk that were being loud ( we were talking amongst ourselves and getting ready we weren’t shouting nor on top of our voices ) we advised whoever called that we weren’t be loud and they went on to say they’ll send security to walk the block and check your room , we came out the elevator and the security was coming in and I guess because they heard the accent they figured they were supposed to come to our room and give us the dirty look !!!! Wow just wow!! Let me end this right here . As Jamaicans, we felt as though we were being picked on by our own , we felt bombarded, we didn’t feel light the entire time we were there it’s was just a heavy feeling on us! We chose Royalton because Royalton has a name , I work in the hospitality industry and I’ve been to them all and this is the worst , it is very unfair for one to work hard and decide to take a break and relax but was instead treated the way we were! Without an apology!!!More
Not sure what fuss is about
We booked this holiday as a cheapish getaway...it fulfills that brief. With all other reviews stating how amazing this place is I’m sat here currently in this resort wondering if we are really at the same hotel?! Don’t get me wrong it’s not terrible and if this is your first time to the Caribbean you would probably think it is amazing....however compared to other hotels on other islands it’s very standard. Yes it’s got the beach and the restaurants and the food is very good apart from the room service which to be fair I have never found very good anywhere at an all inclusive resort. People on here (trip advisor) seem to rave about the VIBE team. We want peace and quiet so if you need to be entertained then yes I suppose you would like it. I don’t like the constant hassle and noise so it’s my idea of hell I feel like I’m in Benidorm. The one thing I can honestly say is terrible are the staff and service. There are a couple who are hardworking but my god they are the rudest laziest set of people I’ve ever met. You get ignored you get teeth sucked at you if you question where your morning coffee is that you ordered half hour ago. You get looked up and down by the guys at the beach....I’m not going to lie some of the women here love the attention but I find them sleezy. There are just groups of them sat around chatting doing nothing my god they wanna be glad I’m not their boss. Also several things are broken and their chill attitude is just not right. The escalator has been broken the whole days of us being here, the fire alarm went off for a full 8 hours, the pool in spa was out of order and the lifts are constantly breaking down. I know this happens but it seems like it’s the norm not what you expect from a 5* hotel. I’m not sure whether it’s the hotel or Jamaica but we will never return. I’m glad we’ve and ticked of Dunn’s River and several other things but I cannot give money to these people. The other islands are so beautiful, Mexico, Thailand all the people are so lovely but hell these people are rude. Hope this helps. Some people will love it here but if you want romantic good service and a nice vice I suggest another hotel possibly another island all togetherMore
First visit to Royalton
This was our second visit to Jamaica but first time at Royalton, the Royalton has everything you need for your holiday, hideaway for adults only with separate beach, royalton for all inclusive, pool, kiddies pool & a private beach, diamond club is if you want that little bit extra. We initially had booked royalton and after the first day. We upgraded to diamond, it was our 10 year wedding anniversary so decided to treat ourselves We had the swim up pool & loved it, could be a tad cold when the sun wasn’t on it but not an issue. On upgrading we were allocated melisa and George for our butlers They were both amazing from melisa helping us back to our room after we had too many cocktails to George decorating our room for our anniversary.nothing is to much for them, they would both check on us through out the day. Melisa is so happy and friendly she instantly puts you at ease and makes you smile George is so sweet and happy. We met courtney m he took care of the beach & garden area, every morning he’d put our towels out on the beach for us. He’d come chat to us to see if we were okay. They really do become family, this is the first holiday we myself and husband have wanted to stay longer & not come home yet. The restaurants were brilliant to have such a variety of choice is brilliant. The buffet was brilliant so much to choose from, some cooked in front of you We pre booked most of the restaurants but the second week for us was a bit quieter so we took our chances So niggles with things but didn’t ruin our holiday I would go back to the royalton again but I’d want melisa for butler if I could choose. The gift shop could look at there pricing rather expensiveMore
Royalton brand is absolute rubbish
I am writing this review as i am getting ready to leave. I have visited both blue waters (twice) and negril and i have never felt so distrespected at any other resort. My expetience at blue waters was atrocious and negril is unfortunately the same. I wont get into the bluewaters story i'll address the current one which is negril. I came to celebrate my birthday and my partner called to advise and was promised a complimentary banner and champagne. I also called unknowingly that my partner called that day as well....i was promised the same complimentary banner on the door and champagne....i am now checking out and none of these items have been delivered. Swimout room- i booked a swimout room through a local.agency and called twice to confirm. I was placed om building 6 which was undergoing renovations i sat on the patio and paint flakes continue to fall on me and in the pool allowing the pool to be of no use. I reported it 4 times and finally i was moved to another room on building 2. I spent 3/4 of a day negotiating to get a room.change. i asked for compensation and was told i would have to go to guest services to plead.my case. I had already wasted a day and decided that i was not going to waste anymore time. I asked for late check out and was promissed same. Fast track to today when i am to leave i go back to d room at 1pm to start packing and i am locked out. After they promised me late check out. Royalton and blue diamond resorts need to get the hell outta jamaica since they r not willing to accomodate and treat locals with respect. I am done and will never in my SANE life come hereMore
The best 2 weeks
Me and my boyfriend have just got back from 2 weeks staying in the Royalton, and I can't recommend this hotel enough. The grounds are absolutely stunning - the beach and the gardens are perfect and the rooms and beautiful too. All the facilities are incredible and the staff are amazing. The entertainment team really makes your stay 10x better. Special mention to Romaine, Zatar and Lando who made our 2 weeks even more fun All of the restaurants are really good, the food in each one is really nice! And the drinks are good too. There was loads of entertainment around the pool and the beach to keep you busy as well. The evening entertainment was always good, and the sports bar allowed you to stay out as late as you want. Overall the best holiday I have ever had and would 100% recommend. We will definitely be back! More
