Secrets St James Montego Bay
This hotel raises the bar on luxury holidays – everything from pools to dining is done on a grand scale.
This high-end, adults-only retreat has won awards from the likes of TripAdvisor and Condé Nast Traveler. Its setting will certainly have helped – it’s on a quiet peninsula, with over half a mile of private beach.
The plus points extend way beyond the tropical setting. There’s a huge pool, a host of gourmet restaurants, and Junior Suites come as standard. A world-class spa rounds things off with a flourish, and you can also make the most of what the neighbouring Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay has to offer.

Poor Experience So Far...
Having stayed at two other Secrets properties, my experience with this resort (even before staying) is falling well short of expectation. I have sent four emails over as many months simply requesting that we and another couple we are travelling with get rooms next to each other and that the rooms have king sized beds. Having received no response whatsoever, I feel that I should share this...More
Great entertainment and service
We did not stay at Secrets, we stayed at their sister hotel Breathless. But during the day we were mostly there because of the entertainment and Restaurants. The night shows were great. Shout out to Ms. Love, Lady O, Kenny, Red strip, and Sky. They are an amazing team. Super nice a genuine people. Always making sure you are laughing and having a great time. The food and service at the restaurants were also great. Not to mention the beach is at this hotel, no beach in Breathless. Next time we will try and stay at Secrets!More
Great Memories made here!!
Great vacation time with a lot of fun. Great food with a lot of variety. Will definitely come back. UVCLUB employee was very helpful. Vacations are for fun ...and having a nightclub onsite is key. The DJ was awesome. More
Not worth the price
Sold as a premium resort. But too many corners being cut. Location is great and facilities are clean and up to standard. The value paid for the important things like food and alcohol not there. Food was not best and need expansion of the restaurant space for breakfast so go early. Lunch and dinner had enough choices. Except for bar staff being great and going above and beyond, bar supplies sucked. Why would you have the premium bottles in the lobby area bar and not at the beach/pool bar also. The beach and pool was great for relaxing. Nightly entertainment was fair and entertaining. The club though needs a better dj..its an international hotel better mix and more upto date music. Dj seem not to be reading the crowd. Staff friendly and very helpful.. Which helps to save property. For the price point not worth it. More
Great chill out
Just returned from an great time at Secrets St James. After reading some reviews before going out, we were a little concerned, HOWEVER.... Overall resort- great location 15 mins transfer by private taxi inclusive with Tui. Well kept gardens and pool areas with beach a few metres away. The 3 small curved beach areas make for a nice stroll whilst sipping a Rum cocktail or try a Virgin Tropical Coconut with light & dark Rum! And when it gets too hot slip into the warm mill pond turquoise sea. We read that the staff were less than hospitable. Nothing could be further from the truth. They work very hard to ensure you have a great stay, but remember it is 30 degrees + and you are in Jamaica so chill, it’s not going to be fast service. Having said that, wherever you go you can not expect a hotel with a few hundred staff not to have one or two staff who are having a bad day. Food- great variety our favourite was the French Restaurant, my least favourite was the Italian, however the rest of my party all enjoyed the Italian both times we went. We did not rate the Hibachi well our chef needed more experience. The World Cafe buffet restaurant is great for breakfast and lunch lots of variety. The Jerked Chicken from either the buffet or the cart is nice and spicy. Accommodation- great room with everything we needed. I usually travel with my own pillow but took a chance this time and was not disappointed, one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. Thank you guys for a fab vacation.More
