Royal Decameron Cornwall Beach
The Royal Decameron Cornwall Beach strikes the perfect balance between luxe facilities and first-rate location.
This place is well versed when it comes to dinner and drinks, with a pair of restaurants and three bars to pick from. You've also got free rein to visit the two eateries and seven watering holes at its sister hotel, the Royal Decameron Montego Beach.
There's a scoop of trademark Caribbean sand right on your doorstep, and it's reserved just for hotel guests. And thanks to the beachfront plot, every one of the rooms comes with a sea view.

We stayed for a week after our Exotic Explorer Marella Cruise. We chose The Decameron Cornwall Beach because of the size of the hotel. Arrived at 12.30pm. Had to wait until 3pm for room. Also every room was very spacious and looked over the glorious sea. A very laid back vibe. If you wanted music whilst you were on your sun lounger you could stay near the pool bar that opened around 10.30am. (Great staff). The other end of the beach was quiet. Plenty of beds with shade. There was a bit of a dip to get in and out of the sea, which was not a problem for me. A private beach. Lovely and calm for swimming. Right next to Dr Cave beach. The food in the restaurant was very Jamaican, which was good. Waitress quick to serve wine and water. Loved the sweet rice pudding lunchtimes! A coffee shop, on the first floor which was included was always very quiet. Resort a lot smaller and quieter than other hotels close by. Entertainment in the evenings was quite good. Mostly bands with some good singers. If you want a taxi, I wouldn’t recommend the ones at the hotel. Tried to rip us off. We got a taxi outside and agreed a price to take us to The Hard Rock Cafe. Quick transfer to the airport. We just got back before the flights stopped, because of the virus. Hope to return next year.More

This resort has a very small beachfront! Its location is also near the airport, you always hear those noisy planes landing and taking off! It’s very annoying! There’s not even enough beach chairs for the guests! The beach chairs are also old and torn, it’s very uncomfortable! This is an all inclusive resort but they only have a buffet restaurant and another one which needs reservations and is always full so you’re stuck with that buffet restaurant with all the other guests! Food is of low quality and not much choices, so if you’re staying here for a few days you’ll easily get tired of their food! Lastly, their staff are unfriendly! When you’re seated at the restaurant it takes them forever to ask you about your drink, so what I do before I choke with my food is to bring my coke and water from my room! I will never go back here, location and the resort are bad! My tour guide was suggesting that the beaches and resorts in Negril are so much better, that’s where I’ll go next time!More
Our First But Not Last Trip Here
I got home from a week stay here February 29th - March 7th. The whole experience was amazing. We had a group of 18 people and none of us had ever stayed here so we weren’t sure what to expect (however some of the group have stayed a few times at their sister property next door). Nobody from the group had a single complaint about anything, except for us having our trip come to an end. The rooms were spacious and clean, food from the buffet and al a cartes were great, our AirTransat representative Julian had answers to all of our questions, the bar staff (especially Kem at the pool bar) are very hard working and try to get everyone their drinks as fast as possible, and finally the entertainment staff got everyone involved and would stop and talk and make sure we were enjoying our stay (DaVion, Rochelle, and Travis). Needless to say this WILL NOT be our last time there and cannot wait until our next visit to Royal Decameron Cornwall Beach. Thank you for a vacation I will never forget!More
First trip to Jamaica
My husband and I spent 2 weeks at this hotel Feb.23-Mar.8. We loved it! We arrived in Montego Bay on a Sunday night and after what seemed like a very long walk through the airport the process to get through immigration went quickly, then maybe a 5 min. drive to the hotel. Check in went smoothly even though there were quite a few of us. Young man at front desk was very friendly. We were given a room on the 4th floor, close to the elevators, right beside our friends who were traveling with us. Room was great - clean and very spacious. Not a lot of drawers or space to put your clothes. My husband used the extra cot that was was in the room for most of his stuff. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. The fridge is stocked daily with water, beer and cola. You pay $2/day for the safe and the front desk gives you a code to use. Good sized bathroom with lots of counter space and a large mirror. Hair dryer worked great. Small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and body wash are supplied. Large walk-in shower - never had a problem getting hot water but it could use a bigger shelf to put things on. All rooms face the water and our room was high enough to truly appreciate the view. I actually can't say enough good things about the view - I never got tired of looking out from the balcony! Our maid kept the room spotless for our entire stay. The hotel is small which is great - you're never far from anything. There is a wonderful café on the 2nd floor with a good supply of books you can borrow. WiFi worked well throughout the hotel. Buffet area is just behind the lobby bar. Lots of food selection. I never found it hard to fill my plate! There is a small snack bar at one end of the beach where you can get a hamburger, hot dog, grilled cheese, fries, pizza and jerk chicken. At night this becomes the hotel's a la carte restaurant. We only went once and booked a late sitting. They were out of most of the menu selections. I never spent a lot of time at the pool except for a windy day and a few water aerobic classes. It was clean and easy to get into. The beach is small but beautiful. Could probably use a few more loungers but they were easier to find on our second week. The water was so warm and refreshing! Good snorkeling not far off the beach with lots of fish to see. Beach was kept very clean. It is a very eco friendly hotel - paper straws, reusable plastic cups (but not the small flimsy ones!) They have little tables by most of the cabanas which is very nice. We had no problem getting clean beach towels each day. Drinks were good at both the pool/beach bar and the lobby bar. We were allowed to use the facilities at the DeCameron Montego Bay next door but didn't really spend a lot of time there. A lot of the nightly shows are held there and I went to a few. There was always great music/singing each evening in our lobby. Especially loved the beat box/bango/guitar trio and the steel drum group. You can hire a taxi at the front of the hotel and we found a great driver- Fenley Russell. He drove us to Nine Mile one day to see the birthplace of Bob Marley. The drive was long but it was nice to see the countryside and a few small towns. Another day he took us to Negril. The drive along the coast was beautiful. Stopped at a shop to buy coffee and rum cake and to see Seven Mile Beach, which is gorgeous! Spent some time and ate lunch at Rick's Cafe. What a great spot! Lovely view and great food! Fenley was a great driver - gave us lots of info, never made us feel rushed and we always felt safe. We purchased tickets from the Air Transat rep for the departure lounge at Club MoBay for our return flight. This worked out great as our bus pick up was shortly after 5 and our flight was delayed. It had comfortable seats in air conditioning with a good selection of food and drinks included. I saved the best part of our vacation for last - the people! We found all the staff fabulous and the hotel was small enough that you also got to know a lot of the other guests. The hotel manager, Andrea Clarke, was extremely friendly and approachable. You could always see her checking on different areas and talking to guests. The bartenders were all great and very busy! But never too busy to smile! Servers in the buffet and the chefs treated us great. We had a lot of fun carrying on with them! Miss you Cleona, Tia, Janus (?) and gang. Sorry I don't remember everyone's name. The entertainment team here is one of the best I've ever met anywhere I've stayed. They easily make you want to join them in activities without being pushy. We had such great fun with them! Thank you so much for becoming our friends! Weasie and Wilson will never forget you 😉. Spade - hard worker, excellent dancer, super nice. Travis - friendly, energetic, so funny. Big Show - great singer, outgoing, talented. Rochelle - beautiful, easy to talk to. DJ - quiet master of them all! Thanks to everyone for treating us so well. I definitely hope to visit this hotel again soon!More
Perfect vacation for our family!
Our family of four from Toronto loved our 7-day stay at the Decameron, Cornwall Beach. Our teenagers loved the entertainment and the staff, we appreciated the views and cocktails (served generously right up to our last lunch before leaving for the airport - thanks, Renee!) Together, we re-connected by reading books on the beach, playing cards, and enjoying all the activities this resort has to offer. We'd go back for sure!More
