Riu Palace Jamaica
This adults-only hotel leads its debut with a prime beach position and four à la carte restaurants.
Soft white sand comes to your doorstep at this beachfront hotel. There’s a relaxed vibe to the place, though it’s just 10 minutes’ drive from Montego Bay and its line-up of shops, restaurants and nightlife.
The hotel sits between the Riu Montego Bay and Riu Reggae and, as such, you can move between the three for bars and restaurants. When it comes to the huge pool, though, you’ll probably want to stay put.

We returned after a visit over a previous festive period and although a few of the faces had changed, the quality of service certainly had not. Great choice of food, tremendous service and a wide variety of entertainment. An idyllic setting brought to life by an entertainment team spearheaded by: Spark, Lady T and Dr Fun Fun. Well done to all, we highly recommend this holiday experience.More
Wonderful 30th Anniversary Vacation
Lovell at reception made sure our stay was memorable. Excellent staff, great service. Ms.T ensured we were well entertained and the restaurant staff were so friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our stay. We would do it again 👍More
Well I’m going to start off and say that we stayed here 7 nights and had an amazing week! Was a little nervous at first about coming but that all went away once I walked through the door and was treated to a glass of champagne! We were there to relax and have a great time. And that we did! We met some amazing people from NY, Colorado, Canada and the UK! And the entertainment people were great! Sparky went above and beyond for making sure the crowd was entertained. Dr. Fun and Lady T were also a blast! Danine at the pool bar knew what I drank by the second day because I can’t drink rum. He went above and beyond to make sure our pool bar experience was great. Jayson, Winston and Shantel in the pool area top notch as well! Our glasses were never empty, which was great because we spent all day at the pool! Be prepared to see woman were swimsuits they shouldn’t and take hour long selfie sessions lmao! Now onto the food. The first night we tried Krystal which wasn’t bad but portions were not big enough. Second night we went to Reggae and ate at the Italian place. Was very good. Then we tried our Italian restaurant which I would not recommend. I got the rack of lamb and it literally had 3 bites of meat. So we decided the next night we’d do the steakhouse, which was great! Food was delicious and the servers were good as well. We did the buffet for breakfast and lunch which wasn’t bad. And also enjoyed the food cooked on the beach. We did walk over to the Reggae one day to see how their pool was and to hang out. And after about 15 minutes we left. I enjoyed being waited on as I paid for it and the vibe for me at Reggae was just not for us. So we went back to the palace and stayed put and enjoyed our fun! We checked out RIU Mo Bay as well and oh lord kid city! We walked around and made our way back to the Palace, I left my kids at home so I was good on going there. But I did hear good things about the sports bar there. Now the one thing that made me more mad then anything was the security guards trying to tell us that my bf puked in their pool at the Reggae. Which he didn’t. They put their hands on him which as a guest you don’t ever do. I was sober and he did not throw up in the pool! Overall our week was great! Thanks to the amazing people who work there and the people we met. I’ll end with saying this. You are going to read all the reviews and people are going to say good and bad. I was second guessing myself multiple times after reading negative reviews but I will say go. Judge for yourself. Enjoy your trip! More
We'll Be Back
We stayed at the Rui Palace Montego Bay 4 nights last week. Food was good and plentiful. Service exceptional. Entertainment was great primarily led by Lady T, Dr. Fun, and Sparky. The entire experience exceeded our expectations. Very comfortable stay. We'll return sometime this year with friends.More
This was my first visit to Jamaica and was keen to choose the right hotel, looking for a 5-star experience. Unfortunately I don’t feel satisfied that I got this at the Riu Palace, Montego Bay. I can live with the fact that the hotel is directly under the flight path for the local airport, you soon get used to the aircraft noise every 30 minutes or so and it generally stops about 9pm at night. What I found louder than the planes is the racket the room cleaning staff make from 7am in the morning. The corridors outside the rooms are like echo chambers yet they proceed to talk at the top of their voice. The main thing that let this hotel down though was the food. I was looking forward to the fact they had 4 different cuisine restaurants as well as the buffet. I am in the business with my own restaurant back home so food plays a big part when I choose a hotel. We tried the Steakhouse which was laughable. I ordered the 12oz New York Strip which must have been 6-8oz at most served with 4 thinly sliced courgette/aubergine and 4 potato wedges came separately however that was between 2. We also tried Krystal which was marginally better, the lobster risotto was nice but small. The buffet became very monotonous and in the end I couldn’t wait to come home to be honest. It’s a shame about the food because the staff are amazingMore
