Riu Palace Jamaica
This adults-only hotel leads its debut with a prime beach position and four à la carte restaurants.
Soft white sand comes to your doorstep at this beachfront hotel. There’s a relaxed vibe to the place, though it’s just 10 minutes’ drive from Montego Bay and its line-up of shops, restaurants and nightlife.
The hotel sits between the Riu Montego Bay and Riu Reggae and, as such, you can move between the three for bars and restaurants. When it comes to the huge pool, though, you’ll probably want to stay put.

wedding vow renewal.
Me and my husband have just returned from our stay at riu palace. It was amazing from the minute we arrived till the day we left. Hotel and room was spotless cleaners never stopped from morning to night. Our cleaner ann marie came in our room twice a day morning to clean then on an evening to turn down the bed and left us a jamaican proverb every evening which was a nice touch. We was never stuck for a choice off food anytime. We had a romantic meal on the beach which was stunning our waitress Aeshia made it extra special with her professional attitude and her funny little joke with the soup!!!.We renewed our wedding vows on the beach and it was amazing thank you to all the staff who made this a very speacial day which we wont forget. All the staff from the cleaners to the bar staff and the entertainment team the waiters and waitress are a credit to this hotel. The beach and pool areas are stunning. We hope one day to return to this fabulous hotel and country.xxMore
Home away from home!!
Returned from our 3rd visit to the Riu Palace and just gets better every time. From the first time we visited the hotel back in 2017 we were made to feel at home from the first day. There isn’t a single member of staff that doesn’t smile and say hotel to you, from the reception staff to the lifeguards you always get a genuine hello or good morning. Rooms are spacious and clean, housekeeping do an amazing job. Mini bar in the room was always kept stocked up, and complimentary chocolates were left in the room on two occasions. There are three pools so there’s something for everyone. The main pool with the swim up bar is where they host the entertainment, the middle pool is a little quieter when they aren’t running volleyball activities, and finally there is a pool in between the palace and the reggae with a swim up bar if you want some relaxation away from the activities of the main pool. Food is one of the best all inclusive meals I’ve had. Always a vast selection to choice from. Specialty restaurants are also nice, quality in the buffet is just as good but it’s nice for the experience of a waiter service meal. Steak house is our personal favourite. We have made some great friends at the palace who have gone out of their way to show us their beautiful island. Shout out to Dr Fun Fun in the entertainment team and Mr Grant in the bar who always go out of their way to make sure everyone has a great holiday (Just to name two, I could make a lift of everyone working at the hotel). I don’t have a bad word to say about the Palace, and would recommend it to anyone!More
Absolutely Incredible Experience
Resort Super stylish and clean. The Riu Reggae and Riu Montego Bay are on opposite sides of the RIU Palace. You have the opportunity to use their facilities however they cannot come into the Palace area. We never left our resort for food. The palace has an amazing buffet that is never the same and four restaurants that have an extensive menu. You wont ever be bored! We did leave our resort for the entertainment though which the Reggae and Montego Bay both put on fantastic shows! It was never crazy crowded when we were there, we could always get a seat at a restaurant or a place on the beach or by the pool. Rooms Very stylish Equipped with AC, stocked bar Room Service was Incredible! Everything was spotless every single day. They have turn down service as well. You can order food 24 hrs and they set it up for you in the room. Resort Staff They are all AMAZING!!! The resort is spotless as cleaners are working all the time! The entertainment staff is incredible. They knew us by name and made sure we were having a great time. The entertainment staff put on fun filled shows!! When you are on the beach there are always staff walking around collecting your empty drinks and bringing you new ones. You never have to lift a finger while staying here. You will enjoy your stay here! We stayed for 7 days and I think we will always choose a Riu Palace when we can!More
Just what was needed
Well where to begin!! Check in was so easy, everything explained and a refreshing drink on arrival. Room, spacious and clean. Fridge was stocked daily and on the odd day that it wasn’t a quick phone call and voila you had whatever was requested. Bar stocked too. Bed was very comfortable, towels changed twice a day. Room was spotless everyday and bed turned down on the evening with a cute Jamaican proverb left every night. Even having the bath in the middle , kinda in no mans land was pretty cool. Food, well all I can say is we definitely put a few pound on! But hey whose counting. There are 4 restaurants besides the main Montego Bay buffet one but we never tried any. We didn’t need to as the food in the main restaurant was top draw every morning/afternoon and evening. We did use the Aqua bar for lunch as it was more chilled and we don’t like leaving the beach. Sometimes they would cook on the beach around 11.30 just snacks . Another reason we are at the main restaurant was the brilliant Simarje what an outstanding character he is. Along with Oshane they treated us like family everyday. Our only criticism would be that you couldn’t book the other restaurants, they were on a 1st come 1st served basis and as we liked to come off the beach and chill for awhile the 6pm queuing was not going to be an option for us. The Rui is Aruba that we have visited had a booking system so much better really. However as stated we were more than happy with the food in the main restaurant. So much to pick from, from standard English to Jamaican, Japanese , Chinese , Italian alongside so many salad choices and plentiful prawns , muscles etc. Deserts to die for! The vast majority of the staff are brilliant, holding doors for you, singing while working- one cleaner in particular had an amazing voice and we would hear her but never found out who she was sadly. The entertainment team were fantastic too, every morning a cheery “Good morning beautiful people” was shouted along the beach and pool sides and then the fun began - you were offered the activities but not hassled if you declined. The evening gave little to be desired but that’s probably down to money than lack of the team trying. However you can go to other 2 hotels tho their entertainment was similar it did mean you killed some of the evening. The beach is lovely, lots of shade and clean. In fact too much for us as we like the sun as others did and so you have to find where the sun doesn’t get hidden by the palm trees. The sun calm and good to swim in. Ours and the Rui Reggae are the best for swimming. You do get the looky looky men in canoes coming along but they don’t pester you really and are quite funny. Oh and smoking is only allowed in a space in the corner , which is good. The hotel bar itself was fine, prompt service mostly with a smile and the guy (sorry can’t remember your name!) remembered what drink you had so sometimes you didn’t have to ask. The Rui’s cocktails are good, especially Bob and Rita Marley and Jamaican smile 👍🏻. We did a trip to 7 mile beach and combined with Ricks Cafe definitely worth it. Apart from that we had 2 weeks of bliss, we normally go off out and about - sadly it’s not the best idea to do this in Jamaica. We went to Gambia earlier in the year and to be honest they were awful for hassling you outside the hotel. You were literally stalked like a lion stalks its prey. Jamaica is not this bad, especially if you are in a group of 4 or more! However the hotel makes up for this with so much to do. So a big thank you to Simarje and Oshane again ❤️ and thank Rui for a lovely standard hotel and a relaxing holiday and thank you Jamaica 🇯🇲 you are a beautiful island that needs more people to know this and get rid of the fear factor of travelling there. The conference room is average, good acoustics, no noise outside. The coffee break and service was a outstanding, fresh fruits and pastries all day, coffee tea and fresh juice. Double occupancy garden rooms are average needs some renovation in bathrooms. The food is excellent, clean fresh tasty, I couldn’t complain. Evening show entertainment was refreshing entertainment coordinators are great. Pools nice, clean, large beach is ok not Negril but better than most. Enjoyed myself and conference was excellent.More
