TUI SENSIMAR Atlantic Palace
The hotel comes with sea and mountain views, and was recently refurbished.
This hotel is just outside Sorrento, and offers up panoramic views across to Mount Vesuvius. When you want to get out and explore, there’s a shuttle bus that’ll drop you into town, and to the beach.
The property looks typically Italian from the outside, with white-brick walls and columned balconies. As for the interiors – expect a swish lobby bar and rooms dressed with smart, modern accent colours.

We had our 4th visit to. this hotel in August. Over the last two years we have noticed a definite decline in some areas. We feel this is probably TUI influenced. The food choice has definitely been halved, especially at lunchtime. Roof top terrace has lost seating and looking unloved. Our room was fine (3rd floor, sea facing) and always cleaned to an excellent standard. At lunchtime in particular waiting staff have been halved and some days seem to struggle to keep up. The biggest saving grace are the hotel staff. Pino, Flora in particular. They are more like our friends now and always deliver. They both manage their teams very well. Without them we feel this hotel would struggle. TUI have 4 reps in this hotel. Absolutely ridiculous for a small hotel. We struggled to see what they even did. TUI would be far better off halving them and investing some money into hotel. Big shame Hannah is no longer their as TUI guest relations. Her enthusiasm, knowledge and presence was excellent during our previous stays. Sadly this year it was can effort for the TUI team. This hotel is expensive, especially in high season. It needs a shake up for next season. I note that other returning guests feel the same. Having stayed at TUI sensimar in Tunisia this year, the standards are chalk and cheese. TUI pull all the stops out for newer hotels in order to get returning customers and then slowly cut back on things. Sorrento is beautiful. Sadly we would not return to Atlantic Palace to stay, but would definitely visit to see some staff, if we were there.More
Stayed at the hotel for 10 nights in September. Lovely room with plenty of storage, cleaned everyday with fresh towels if needed. Food was lovely and plenty of choice. All the staff are great can not do enough for you which makes this hotel special. More
Just returned after one week. Rooms lovely, we had one overlooking the garden on the second floor, very quiet, no traffic noise at all. The food was excellent, especially the pizzas made in the clay oven and the dinner choice was excellent, and served very quickly. A couple of nights there were gala buffets which again were very good. Choice of drinks on the all inclusive was extensive, all cocktails made individually(none came ready made from bottles). Outside the lobby bar is a lovely space but unfortunately the furniture was old and tatty which was a shame. The pool bar was quite a nice area and also the roof top was lovely with wonderful views. All the staff were excellent and worked very hard to please. Also the TUI reps did a very good job and always cheerful. The walk about in Sorrento was very informative and worth taking part. All in all, a very good holiday, the positives far outweigh the negatives.More
Don't listen to the negative reviews
Go and visit this hotel and make your own mind up before listening to negative reviews on here. The hotel is admittedly in a busy main road but then lots of hotels are. If you have a front facing room you can't really sit out on your balcony and read/relax peacefully but there are plenty of places around the hotel where you can. The staff are really friendly and attentive and go out of their way to make sure everything is ok and that your stay is comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is wonderful - waiter service on most evenings where you pick two courses which are served to you but you can also help yourself to a plentiful salad bar and desserts which are to die for. Breakfast is a similar affair but not waiter service. There is a freshly squeezed orange machine and you can also have freshly cooked omelettes, poached eggs, pancakes etc. There really is something for everyone and I'm sure if you didn't find something you liked on the menu they would make you an alternative. We sat in the garden area when we wanted to sunbathe - there are three jacuzzi baths and plenty of sun beds and the lunch is served in the garden restaurant at the back. People have said that there are flies and rabbit pop everywhere - admittedly there are lots of flies but not so that it spoils your holiday and as for the rabbit poo - they clean the garden area early in the mornings so that a lot of it has gone. The rabbits are no bother and add to the charm of the place. There is a fabulous sea view from the top floor - you can also sunbathe up there if you wish. We did trips along the Amalfi coast, Capri day and night and Pompeii and Herculaneum - the guides are very knowledgable and we enjoyed all of our trips with the exception of Capri which was a bit of a disappointment to us - not helped by the weather and then having to sit around waiting on the bus to get back - 112 euros for a boat trip a wander road Capri and that's that - you have to pay extra for dinner on this one so not great value for money and unless you're into designer shops don't bother going! The Amalfi coast trip and Pompeii and Herculaneum were fabulous though. Would we go back? Yes one day but now we have seen Sorrento and the stunning coastline we won't go back for a few years but we do live Italy, the amazing coastlines, the friendly people and the wonderful food. More
Good hotel, enjoyable stay, great staff but some niggles.
My wife and I decided to return here after our experience staying here three years ago and also after reading the previous reviews on here. The reviews are more or less as we found, to be true, but one or two very picky and appear biased. (perhaps 5* expectations on 3* money?) The plus bits. A large room with a very comfortable bed, ample storage, adequate bathroom with double shower, hot water and good pressure. As the bathroom is tiled throughout, the age groups I would say 50+, perhaps the fitting of a grab rail in the double shower would be a good move on behalf of the Hotel. We also take a small bathmat with us which has proved its worth. The room is very clean and serviced daily. Fridge with water, safe, TV, Tea and coffee facilities. Wooden floor also clean and large balcony with table and two chairs. We were in room 311 on the road side of the main building with a reasonable view across the bay to Vesuvius and Naples. With the balcony doors closed there was little or no noise from the road and we slept well. It was an education watching the traffic and the antics of the Italian drivers. This side of the hotel does not get the sun but it was very nice to sit out on the balcony. I should add that the roof terrace, one floor above has comfortable seating and uninterrupted views across the bay. A lovely place to sit, enjoy a book and a drink. The Reception staff are friendly, professional and very helpful, as are all the staff members and cleaners. We never had a problem with anyone. Unlike some previous reviewers apparently. The meals are, in the main very good. The "Italians" do not apparenty know about "boiling" water for tea, but we found the coffee good but also not the hottest. You drink it when it arrives as it cools off quickly. Breakfast, like every meal has something for everyone as the choice is large. The cooking station for eggs, omelettes, pancakes and waffles is very popular. The toaster like most hotels I have been in needs twice through but as it expired on our last day, perhaps this will improve. The hot options are quite extensive too with some disappointments, watery scrambled egg, very streaky bacon and frankfurter sausages. The cold meats and cheese are good but the morning rolls give your teeth a workout. Fruit juices and cakes etc abound as do yoghurts, cereals, fruit etc so no one goes hungry. Lunch (Weather depending) is either in the main dining room or up in the outside barbeque, grill area among the trees and shrubs. There are, soup, salads, grills, pizza, meats etc and desserts and icecream available. We did prefer if the weather meant lunch was inside in the restaurant though as everything was laid out better and again seemed to have even more options. Dinner was the best meal of the day, from being shown to a table by "Pino" who is Maitre-d, and has the staff working very smoothly, to a highly skilled chef and kitchen team. There are normally two types of meal. You choose and help yourself from a starter and dessert layout and choose a pasta dish and a main course from a menu. These two are brought to your table when required. The other option is a Buffet throughout, Roasts carved by the Chef and only your drinks are served to you. WE never had a meal we did not enjoy. The bar staff are friendly and professional and with 50 "cocktails" available as well as the other drinks they have to be good. Thanks guys. Now the downside. The outdoor furniture is in the main a bit "Tired" and in need of a change. The outside of the hotel too needs a paintjob in places and attention to detail is not happening. Pillars have chipped paint, drain covers warped outside the bar area and the bottom steps up to the pool from there, always have a wet area with a touch of algae. Easy to slip? The steps edges outside, are not very distinct when you move around and it would be easy to miss the edge and fall. The grass area leading to the Jaccuzzis and up to the outside eating area do have assorted "Rabbits" wandering about. They do what Rabbits do, so watch your step. I did wonder if when they become more abundant, do they feature on the menu? I never saw it while we were there. Now the TUI Reps. We had nothing but a good experience from the whole team with the only downside was that the trips are a bit expensive, but in our opinion they deliver. Lastly, This is Italy in September, so it does rain now and then. The hotel is in an area where there are trees and shrubs. The mix does allow flies and insects to flourish. As a result nearly everyone will get bitten, but they do not differentiate between Tourist and Local. Also the whole Sorrento area has them. People do exaggerate when things are not to there liking, as has been mentioned in earlier posts. For example one evening when selecting the starter for dinner, one "Lady" was heard to say "Everything is covered in Flies." Well my wife and I had a good look for this "Plague" but only managed to see "ONE." If you are looking for a holiday in this part of Italy, I would have no hesitation in recommending this one. Do not be put off by some very negative comments earlier.More
