TUI SENSIMAR Atlantic Palace
The hotel comes with sea and mountain views, and was recently refurbished.
This hotel is just outside Sorrento, and offers up panoramic views across to Mount Vesuvius. When you want to get out and explore, there’s a shuttle bus that’ll drop you into town, and to the beach.
The property looks typically Italian from the outside, with red-brick walls and columned balconies. As for the interiors – expect a swish lobby bar and rooms dressed with smart, modern accent colours.

Not the best
We arrived here after a transfer from our cruise in Naples, and signs were initially quite good. TUI staff greeted us from the coach and lunch was waiting in the garden buffet (complete with cute rabbits!) After lunch, we checked in and went to find our rooms. All on the second floor overlooking the road, which got quite manic at times as well as fairly noisy. Didn’t affect us, but some of the party found it quite intrusive. Our room had a bit of a strange smell, which I suspect was from the drains. The air con was also not as cool as our other rooms. We asked for both issues to be fixed and the smell diminished a bit by the cleaners leaving the plug in the basin. The air con remained stubbornly warm. Water and toilet roll replenishment was a bit lax, needing some prompting to reception, but was soon fixed. Food in the restaurant was of good quality, but staffing issues meant that cooking stations at breakfast were not always manned. Clearing used crockery away was haphazard with some cleared and a significant wait before the rest was taken. Some of the tablecloths appeared to be from the night before, but the piece de resistance was the bowls of mayo and ketchup by the live cooking which were several days old. Cleanliness was very much an issue here. The TUI reps were brilliant and did all they could to bring us the Sensimar experience. However, they were badly let down by management inadequacies in control and leadership on the hotel side of things. This does not have the feel of a four star hotel and we would not visit again. More
First time in Sorrento and we would love to come back here again. We had a wonderful ,spacious room up on 3rd floor of Annex, one of just two. We’re sure they must be best ones in hotel. Spacious roof terrace with stunning 270 degree views over Sorrento Bay, Vesuvius, Via Capo, hotel pool, gardens & mountains. Big comfy proper double bed, bright & modern, spotlessly clean bathroom suite :- double shower & sinks and excellent daily maid service. Lots of clean towels & toilet rolls! All staff were very helpful & friendly. They can’t do enough for you. Food was terrific: everything you could want & as much of it. Likewise the drinks. We particularly appreciated the seriousness with which all the restaurant staff & chefs handled my partner’s onion allergy. This meant he could relax & trust there would be no unpleasant surprises. They were all quickly aware & no one forgot. The gardens to rear of hotel are beautiful with lemon trees to provide welcome shade at the idyllic lunchtime alfresco restaurant. The little bunnies are very cute & just get on with minding their own business. No children to disturb them or us. Heaven! Main road at front v busy & narrow; typical of area so safest using hotel shuttle bus to town but apart from excursions to see the awesome, famous sights, we didn’t feel need to stray from all the relaxing hotel facilities. Overall,a brilliant & unforgettable experience. More
Once again a fantastic holiday, Atlantic palace never disappoints us! The rooms are very clean, we stayed in the main building on the second floor! Great views and actually liked the sound of the road. The food is amazing and so are the restaurant staff, always friendly and good to see some original staff are still there. Always have a laugh with them. Thank you Nello for always remembering what drink we have at lunch, always need an afternoon nap after all that beer. Always lovely to be greeted by Catello. Love the excursions and the gems of a Amalfi is the best one, we went on the mozzarella farm and Paestum trip, really enjoyed that one and was new for 2019. Don’t take any notice of the negative reviews, this hotel is perfect and have booked for next year already! More
Normaly I dont like to write bad reviews, but this time I had to. We are a couple from Bulgaria, and we like to travel a lot and maybe Atlantic Palace was one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in. Not because it was dirty but because of the people working there and how they treated us. Some time as people from a small country from the eastern part of Europe we encounter words like “...oh you are Bulgarian...” or “...you dont look like Bulgarian...” aka people havе wrong idea about us. I dont know if that was the case but in this hotel the waiters made us feel out of place and were rasist towards us. Almost all of the guest there were English and the staff did everything they can to make them feel good, like asking them if they want cofee and tea, bringing them coffee on the table, and not once did they asked us the same, every single day. Not only that, but one of the waiters every time on breakfast winked at me , sent me air kisses and called me behind my back “bella” which means beautifull in Italian. This was terrible, and I felt really bad. Other than that the coffee was terrible and when we asked for a “do not desturb” sign did not received one. So maybe if you want to travel to Sorrento, but you are from a small country this is not your hotel!!!! P.s: The staff from the reception were nice. More
What an amazing week! Arrived past midnight at hotel - staff had arranged a meal and a bottle of wine in bedroom! Our room (501) was perfectly air conditioned, stocked with water every day, clean and had nice little garden terrace. We were also right next to pool. Pool area amazing! We spent most of the time in the garden area on the beds at the back. Took a big cushion from the jacuzzi part and it was very comfy with some shade. Jacuzzi and pool temperature perfect! That first dip in the jacuzzi was heaven. Food all week was excellent. Loads of choice. And plenty drinks. The limoncello beautiful. The frozen daiquiri’s? Yes please!! The sunset bar beautiful to sit in before dinner. Amazing views. And finally, the staff: every single one of them were unbelievable. Thank you so much for our experience. I’ll miss Pino in my life.
