With its blush-coloured walls and flower-decked balconies, the Hotel Michelangelo could have been plucked straight from a retro Italian magazine.
This hotel’s on Sorrento’s main shopping street – the Corso Italia – so there’s a cosmopolitan buzz as soon as you step outside the front door. You’re a two-minute walk from the train station, too, so daytrips to nearby towns like Herculaneum and Pompeii are easy.
Everything’s as pretty as a picture here – the pool’s surrounded by vibrant flowers and has a ceramic fountain on one side, and the balconies are draped with greenery. There’s a rooftop sunbathing terrace in the mix, too.

Best Holiday in 30 Years.
I’ve just returned from the best holiday I’ve had in 30 years, staying at the Michelangelo Hotel. When we arrived to the hotel we was greeted by the friendly hotel staff and a beautiful hotel. The Receptionist checked us in and handed us the information we needed about the hotel and a card from the tui rep for our welcome meeting the next day. As being frequent travellers we never usually attend the welcome meetings lead by the reps, however on this occasion we decided to head over, we met our reps Charlie and Peter who gave us an envelope with information about Sorrento they then delivered a very informative speech. Charlie’s knowledge of the Campania region and the trips that they have available were outstanding. We were then taken on a guided walk around Sorrento which was very very informative and one of the highlights of our holiday. As mentioned before we never usually go to the welcome meeting but this time we did and we were so glad that we did. We booked on a few of the TUI trips and there’s not one bad word I could say about them as they were amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and was updated by our rep Charlie everyday. The reps were always available in the hotel and although Charlie was always busy he always had enough time to speak to everyone to make sure they were okay. On Monday we went to the reps charity quiz night which was another highlight of the holiday Charlie and peters sense of humour and enthusiasm really made this great night that we all did enjoy. The hotel food was out of this world and there were many options for us to choose from. This was a memorable holiday for the both of us and I would like to thank Charlie and Peter our reps for all the hard work they did. These 2 reps really are a credit to tui and your work didn’t go unappreciated. Thank you for everything you have done to make us have a 11 out of 10 holiday. Let us know where you are going next summer and we will be there.More
Fantastic location and friendly staff
We stayed for one week at the annex side of the hotel. We booked via TUI so unfortunately we could not upgrade to a better room. We wished to have a room with a balcony so we can dry our swimwear quicker. It was clean, the room serviced daily , food was tasty and have vegetarian options . The location very good, few min walks to the train station and main bus station. We took the bus to Positano and Amalfi . Buses cheap but over crowded and they have no safety regulations... try to avoid them in you can . The walk to the beach was a bit long , lots of steps and. Hilly walks , but this is sorrento. The hotel was on the main road where all the hustle and bustle happening, but it was quite enough for a good night sleep . There are a lot of nice restaurants and coffees near but . You can walk everywhere within the Centers and the marina ... best location in town . The only down side was the swimming pool, it was small and shaded because of the building hotel covering it all day .. so you can sunbath .. All in all 9/10 Many thanks to the front desk staff , they are always smiling and happy to give information regarding local attractions and how to find the best beaches . More

Absolute amazing x
What a beautiful family run hotel. The food is 5 Couse every night. Staff plentiful and very helpful, funny and wonderful. The rooms very clean. We have had an amazing stay on this perfect hotel. Wednesday night entertainment. The talent of opera combined with piano was breathless. I would recommend this hotel to anyone booking. It's perfect location is a bonus. Well done Michelangelo you have got it spot on!More
Be in no doubt, this hotel is superb. Right from the word go we were made to feel welcome. Taking each positive in turn. - The staff. Friendly, helpful and informative. The restaurant and bar staff especially were great fun, especially Ciro and Giovanni. You could not ask for better. A credit to the hotel. - The rooms and location. Spacious and clean. We had one with a balcony which overlooked the central part of the hotel. For me, the location of the hotel (in the centre of town) was perfect. You are straight on the Corso Italia and about 5 minutes walk from Piazza Tasso (the main square on the cusp of the old town). Equally, you are a few minutes away from the Railway station and the site seeing bus stop. - The food. Evening meals were excellent with a good variety every night. I was very impressed with the pasta dishes which were varied and delicious. Breakfast was continental and contained all the usual food you would expect. I did enjoy the Sicilian cannoli. - Entertainment. The hotel has entertainment in the evenings on some nights, usually piano entertainment which was very nice. I did not use the pool so can't comment on that. In all, a fantastic stay.More
