Grand Hotel Riviera
This clifftop hotel is a super-stylish spot, with design that mixes Modernism with Art Deco. Plus, it’s not far from Sorrento’s cafés, boutiques and restaurants.
Anchored on a cliff above the Bay of Naples, the Grand Hotel Riviera does a great job of zooming in on Sorrento’s spectacular setting. There’s a piazza nearby, and Sorrento’s centre is 15 minutes’ walk away.
The design here is worth talking about. It’s a striking fusion of modern and Art Deco, with angular lines and ice-white walls. Outside, there’s a series of panoramic terraces and a curvy pool.

Romantic hotel with a great restaurant.
The hotel had great service and a very beautiful view of the ocean. The Beach was calm and relaxing. We ate at the hotels restaurant and it was delicious every single day. Highly recommend to eat at the restaurant. Only negative is that we had an ant invasion in our room on one of our last days but the reception handled it pretty goodMore
An enjoyable & relaxing experience
We spent a week here at the end of October on half board. We were in room 226 which has a partial view of the sea. The view from the main hotel terrace, across the bay of Naples to Vesuvius is stunning & it may well be worth paying more for a room with that view. The highlight of the hotel was the "beach". This is a set of pontoons out at sea accessed by a lift, lots of sun beds & a feeling of being on a cruise ship without the waves. The swimming was wonderful; we were blessed with lovely sunny weather so we swam everyday. There is a nice little bar, with a charming man in charge who provides free towels, chilled glasses of local wine & lovely Caprese sandwiches( at a price of course!).The staff are very friendly & helpful. Particular mention to Ciro, on the reception desk who arranged our trips to Capri, Positano, Amalfi & Ravello. Special thanks to Alessandro who took us to Capri, on my birthday. He was the perfect guide, there when you needed him but giving us plenty of time to do our own thing. Going up on the Cable car from Anacapri was magical. You can escape all the other tourists & appreciate the great natural beauty of this area. The food in the hotel was fine. It took us a couple of days to get breakfast right...my mint tea caused some issues. Omelette chef was good & buffet was varied. The dinner menu is displayed the evening before; first courses & pastas were very good. Main courses a bit disappointing, especially the meat. The fish was better & there were always 2 different fish choices. There is a desert trolley but for me the ice cream was a star performer. We had a wonderfully relaxing week here & would returnMore

The Grand Rivera Hotel was right on the water with amazing views. Our room had an ocean view, balcony and was very spacious. The hotel staff were friendly and helpfu. The breakfast was delicious and had anything you would want to eat. They even made us a breakfast to take with us to the airport when we left. It was within walking distance to stores, restaurants and ferries. There was an elevator to take you down to the ocean where there were lounge chairs, umbrellas, bar and food available. The pool area was nice but the water was freezing. I highly recommend this hotel.More

Fabulous location for vacation!
Our experience started before we even arrived as we needed car service in the wee morning hours to get to the airport. Ciro corressponded with us by email and phone to make sure everything was all planned according to our needs. The hotel is stunning as soon as you enter the lobby, bright white and blue, open to the view of the sea, and clean. We were welcomed immediately. Our room was spacious with a magnificent view of the sea from the oversized balcony, which was perfect for coffee and a morning sunrise or wine while watching the sunset. The breakfast buffet was huge with enough choices to satisfy everyone. There were eggs, cold cuts, sweets, cereals, yogurt, fruit, omelet station, juices and coffee or tea. The bright dining room opened to the large patio and overlooked the Bay of Naples. We had lunch at the hotel once and it was average. It was a short walk into town so we preferred to explore the restaurants and gelato shops there. There is a sun deck on the water, at the base of the cliff that was perfect for relaxing . A large swimming area, a bar with snacks and comfortable lounge chairs made this a great spot for a siesta! Ciro discussed different tours that were available in the area and we signed up for three. All were excellent and we would highly recommend the trip to Capri and the Pompeii tour. We also toured the amalfi coast with a driver in a minivan. Small group and the extra attention was wonderful. We loved this location and hotel, and would come back any time.More
Our second visit to this wonderful hotel and just as good as our last visit. Restaurant staff are fantastic, nothing to much trouble, very friendly and obliging. Food excellent, great choice every night and at breakfast. Reception staff all very friendly and helpful. Our room ,125, overlooked the car park was great. Our bedroom was very fresh and clean, but like the bathroom could do with updating. The public areas are beautiful and spotlessly clean. The pool and bathing platform is amazing. The views from the hotel are amazing. We look forward to our next visit.More
