Alexander the Great Beach Hotel
The beachside spot, infinity pool and entertainment venue are the big draws at this modern hotel.
This hotel has one of the best postcodes in Paphos. It’s right by a sandy, Blue Flag beach, and just a five-minute walk from the shops, bars and restaurants in the stylish harbour.
Style-wise, the hotel has a modern edge. A pool with infinity edges, Smart TVs in the rooms and a restaurant with teppanyaki tables set the scene.

Would definitely recommend
All the staff are really helpful, rooms clean, food nice. Entertainment staff Jemma, Kelly, Keenan, Becky, Callum and Ben are fantastic and so are the waiters, waitresses. Sunbed service in the day and table service of a night. Cannot recommend enough. Definitely the place to come to completely relax. The allocation of sunbeds is superb as no rush and we also had a choice as to which sunbeds we wanted. We will be back again.More
We stayed at Alexander the great to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, from the moment we stepped into the hotel we were treat so well. We were given a cocktail on arrival and when we were ready we were taken to our accommodation. We stayed in a cabanas with it's own sunbeds and terraced garden, which was located next to the adult only infinity pool, although we had our own sunbeds outside our cabanas we were still allocated sunbeds around the infinity pool for the duration of our stay, what can I say, absolutely beautiful accommodation located in the perfect place. In our room we found sparkling wine chilling, fruit and cyprus delights. The towels were changed at least twice a day and our beds were turned down every night and chocolates left on our pillows the housekeeping service was second to none and the minibar was replenished daily. There are 3 themed restaurants to choose from as well as the main dining room, we were treat to a champagne breakfast on the day of our anniversary and another bottle of sparkling wine and cyprus delight was waiting for us in our room on our return, which was a lovely touch. We could not fault the quality of food or service in any of the restaurants and chose Garabaldis Italian to celebrate our anniversary, the table was set out beautifully with crystals and flowers the ambiance was wonderful and so was the food, the attentive staff made our evening a memorable one and nothing was too much trouble for Paula she even took photographs to mark the occasion for us, we had a wonderful evening. We didn't venture far and made full use of the infinity pool with its jacuzzis and waterfalls and enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing holiday. On the day of departure it was my husbands birthday and as we were taken to our taxi , our rep and the reception staff all sang happy birthday to him and he was given a farewell goody bag with liqueur, honey and Cyprus delights,as the porter took us to our taxi,my husband joked and said do you think they've mistaken us for someone else!! what can I say about this marvellous hotel, and its superb staff what a wonderful experience, one most definitely for the memory book, we definitely look forward to our next visit to the Alexandra THE GREAT (the name says it all)!!More
Wedding and Holiday
Have just returned from this hotel after a great 10 days away. We got married on 2nd September and our wedding day was fabulous!! Everything went so smoothly and due to having a wedding advisor everything was taken care of. We had a sea view room which was lovely. The only negative was it was a bit small due to us having our baby with us. Food- absolutely lovely. Make sure your very hungry when you visit the meze restaurant as your given enough food to feed the five thousand!! We were served a champagne breakfast in our room the morning after our wedding which was a lovely touch. Staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Customer care is a high priority. Hotel is immaculately clean and tidy. Would definitely visit this hotel again. More
Even the best are only as good as their people.
We've just returned from a week long stay and as you'll see mentioned many times through the reviews for this hotel there's so much to like about the Alexander The Great. Much of which was pleasingly exactly as described both by the hotel and comments on TripAdvisor. A lovely, clean, well thought out hotel in a prime location (you step out to the beachfront, you're only a short walk from the harbour area and you're close to plenty of restaurants, shops etc). Our room was lovely. Clean, comfortable and with a nice balcony spot and the much heralded sunbed allocation system is indeed a very simple but so welcomed idea. The difference it makes choosing a spot (with an option to move later in the holiday) and knowing there's no pressure to rush for it each morning or indeed whilst you take a break to walk/explore etc is noticeable and just adds to a pleasant experience. Little things like this and not having to queue for a freshly made omelette in the morning (you drop in your order, they serve to your table) make it feel like the hotel is really trying to maximise your leisure time and enjoyment of your time with them. All of this is lovely and great reason to return but for us it's the staff who made the biggest difference. There's clearly a lot of work goes into recruiting, training and maintaining high levels of service as we really enjoyed how efficient, polite and especially positive the service was we experienced from front desk, to poolside, to room service, breakfast and bar. Everyone we encountered was smiling and keen to help ensure we had a lovely time. I'd ask management to thank them especially for making our holiday a great one with a special mention for Elli a relatively new member of their bar team who made us feel welcome from our very first night and was lovely, efficient and helpful.More
“Fantastic place truly 5 star resort beach is at the front within working distance to town centre lots of food options Five star quality its what we are use to in Australia and is up there with the Marriotts and the Sheraton hotel groups would highly recommend it Staff and amenities breakfast is 5 star quality different food options with theme nights during our stay room was very spacious the most comfortable extra large king bed we have slept in the last 30 days of our travel and you get your own dedicated sun lounges and umbrella during your stay.Extra turn down (housekeeping)service every evening.” You get to meet the general manager who is very passionate about customer service and what you have to say. Phafos is a great location to see east side of the island and access to the north east is very easy and great beaches, Coral Bay and Latsi or Lachi do some boat tours whilst there and also other Cyprus seaward locations if you get the opportunity Chris & Lucy from AustraliaMore
