A relaxing holiday
This hotel is the only hotel on the island and you reach it by boat from Dubrovnik. The hotel is very well organised and clean. Your rooms are in three storey buildings of which there are eight and these are set away from the main hotel reception and restaurant. There are a lot of steps from the main area to the these buildings, particularly if you are in block eight! There aren’t any lifts. We were in block 3 and had a view of the bay, but some people didn’t have a view. The island is unspoilt and there is no traffic so it’s very peaceful. It takes about 30 minutes by boat to go to Dubrovnik harbour and then you have to get a bus or taxi to the old town. Dubrovnik is well worth a visit. More
Should do better
My partner & I visited this hotel for a week at the beginning of October. Firstly, the island is beautiful & the transfer from Dubrovnik was fine. However, this hotel is not a 4 plus and is 3 star at best. The rooms are a good size but the balconies in the superior rooms are tiny & you couldn’t sit 2 people comfortably on them. Our room was at the rear of Block 7 & overlooked trees which were full of insects. I complained immediately about the room & the fact that we wouldn’t be able to use the balcony & was informed that the hotel was full but Reception would try to sort out a different room on changeover day. When I went back to ask if a room had been found I was told no & all superior room are at the back of the hotel so there was nothing they could do. Unfortunately the attitude of Reception is mirrored throughout the hotel, staff are very unfriendly and give the impression that they don’t want to be there. Food was not good. Both my partner & myself had diarrhoea which I think was due to the show kitchen cooking meat & then reheating it. The choice of hot, or more accurately, tepid food was poor and some nights we were stuck to find anything that looked edible. I would like to point out that we are not fussy eaters! The main bar area is not comfortable & you are hit by a fog of smoke as soon as you enter. I understand that smokers need somewhere to smoke but this is really in the wrong location. Furniture in the bar area is like garden furniture & really uncomfortable. There is nowhere to relax & the main bar, at which you need to queue for your drinks, is more like a pool bar. The drinks are definitely watered down especially the spirits & there is no choice of wine on the All Inclusive option. It has to be said that the red & white wine were undrinkable & the glasses that drinks are served in are filthy. There is no pharmacy on the island so if you need anything urgently (Imodium) it’s a 2 hour round trip to Dubrovnik! I complained to both the hotel & the Tui reps about our issues but feel that they weren’t taken seriously. I cannot understand the amount of positive reviews regarding this hotel so please do not ignore the negative ones & think very carefully before you book.More

I read the reviews before we left home, so I was a rather apprehensive due to some poor reviews. However, we were pleasantly surprised! The hotel was spotlessly clean, the food was fabulous and the staff were amazing...they couldn't do enough for the guests. The island itself is lovely and the holiday was restful...exactly what we needed. The location of the hotel, right on the beach is stunning and overlooks the little harbour. There are no cars allowed on the island, which creates a peaceful atmosphere and the ferry runs regularly to the mainland (takes about 40 min). The hotel caters for adults only (couples) and this added to the classy ambience :) I agree with reviewer LaurenT2388 to ignore the bad reviews...I would recommend the hotel without hesitation!More
Fantastic Holiday - Please ignore the bad reviews
Buckle up for an essay..... Can I just start off by saying that I worry a lot when travelling. We travelled as a couple both in our mid 20s and neither of us had been to Croatia and we travelled mid October. I had been reading TA reviews weeks before we went worrying about the wasps and the food (as I am a fussy eater!) worrying about the transfers and the cleanliness of the hotel whether there would be enough to do etc. Etc... We had the most AMAZING time. I did not want to come home at all. I wish I hadn’t taken notice of any of the bad reviews on here but I know there are more people like me out there who want to know so please please know that this was a fantastic holiday. Absolutely no issues with the transfers (though I was a bit sea sick the way in but that was my issue! I ended up getting some sea sickness tablets and I was fine after that!) the hotel was gorgeous right on the beach, staff where faultless absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them, they were friendly and attentive but not too much if you get me. We didn’t have much to do with the reps in fairness but seemed like everyone had a lovely time with them! The food was lovely, loads of choice and I always found something I really enjoyed. Some people have said the drinks where ‘watered down’ I have no idea what they were drinking but ours were amazing! If you enjoy a cocktail go to the Four Elements bar and sit by the heaters with a blanket, it was the best just looking over the hotel and the beach and the island! The hotel was so clean and the girls cleaning the rooms were really nice, mini bar was always topped up with water beer and soft drinks (all freeee) which is fab! There is a fair walk to the villas we were in the furthest one which was villa 5 but we enjoyed the little walk after dinner but if you’re not very mobile it would make it more difficult so maybe ask for a lower room (villa 1) Now the wasps. There were a few and I am terrified by them! I was fine so I’m sure others would be too! please don’t take people too seriously on here! You get wasps wherever you go in summer and late summer even in th UK, it wasn’t a big deal! There is a lot to do if you want to do it all and you can choose to do nothing the choice is yours. The walks around the island are beautiful and brilliant to do in between breakfast and lunch so you can come back grab something to eat and then lounge by the pool with a drink for the rest of the day! We went into Dubrovnik twice while there I think in hindsight we would have gone more but we really recommend getting the Dubrovnik Cards if you want to go a few times it gives you access to the wall in the old town, all the museums in the old town and also bus fair for about 10 journeys. Which we found brill. The public ferry and private transfers were brill no issues always left on time/arrived on time. We went on the cable cars in Dubrovnik as well to look over the old town and while it was expensive the view is absolutely breath-taking. Please take the time to do the sunset cruise as we didn’t manage to fit it in and we wish we had as the views were gorgeous anyway but at sunset I bet they were out of this world. If you are anything like me and you have been reading these reviews on here worrying please don’t. I think people forget a holiday is what you make of it so don’t let grumpy people put you off what has the potential to be an amazing holiday!! I hope I’ve been helpful in helping you choose this hotel as we would definitely return.More
Visited the island with my wife and it was everything and more against my expectations. Location, food and staff were all excellent. The island itself is beautiful and should be explored which sadly most visitors don’t. Dubrovnik is a great trip using local ferry/shuttle and is a must. My everlasting memories are beautiful island, no traffic, immaculate hotel and no children, just paradise at an affordable price.More
