Hotel Rixos Libertas Dubrovnik
This luxury hotel has a great dining scene and a spot on the beach. It’s even got a casino.
Tiered into a cliffside, this contemporary hotel gets panoramic views across the Adriatic Sea. It’s right on a rocky beach with bathing platforms. And just above the beach you’ll find a big pool and a huge spa.
The hotel has three restaurants, with special mention going to the seafood place. It also has the only casino in town. Dubrovnik’s Old Town is about a 20-minute walk away.

My husband & I booked a weeks stay at this hotel. The location is a 15/20 minute walk to the Old Town of Dubrovnik & we think its a perfect base to explore Dubrovnik & beyond. We booked a sea view room & weren’t disappointed. Good sized room with a large comfortable bed. The hotel is in a beautiful setting & the pool area is lovely too. Large pool & plenty of sun loungers. The breakfast choice is brilliant. I can’t think of anything else you would want. Continental, cooked, healthy. I would certainly recommend if you want a luxurious hotel in a good location. Only criticism is the bar prices are on the high side (about £10 for 2 beers). More
Riff raff around the poolside
This hotel that proports to be a5*platinum is quite frankly nowhere near this rating, the overall finish to the hotel appears shoddily finished, and the policy of allowing locals of all description to use the poolside and sea area results in screaming teens and adults lounging around staring at you and totally taking over the sea access and sea wall area, not only is this extremely disconcerting but I would suspect a high security risk, and they do all this at no charge to themselves, and yet this hotel expects its patrons to pay for said facilities.Having said this the staff were polite and curtious and indeed helpful most of the time whilst breakfast service was slow and incompetent & house keeping failed to clean room properly on several occasions with dirty bed covers, cups, glasses being common.Overall I enjoyed my stay in Dubrovnik, but the many failings of this hotel should lead to a lower classification to 3* and amend its prices accordinglyMore
Amazing, once in a life time holiday!
This hotel is one of my favourites... ever. It is luxurious but not pretentious, filled with guests from all over the world of all shapes, sizes and classes so no need to feel conscious of fitting in. The rooms are spacious and clean. The open plan bathrooms may be an issue for some people but we got used to it. The brealfast is good, but the evening buffet is not worth the £30 + drinks so I would suggest trying it once and then venturing out to the nearby restaurants. There are a couple of shops up the hill to get snacks and drinks from too. The hotel has a beautiful outdoor area which overlooks the sea, the pool is bigger than you might expect and has one depth of 1, 4 metres so it is perfect for swimmers with little confidence. There are also steps down into the sea, indoor and childrens pools, plenty of loungers and a pool side bar. The walk to Dubrovnik old town was tough in the heat as it is all up hill. We got a taxi back which cost about £10. I had a massage at the spa which was pleasant but extremely expensive at almost £70 for 50 minutes. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. I could have happily stayed another week or more!More
Awesome stay at Rixos Libertas Hotel
Spent three nights at this hotel. Hotel has great amenities and it was a great place to stay during my trip. I had an issue with my key room and Marina from reception was very kind to solve this problem for me with a great attitude!!!.....Ana, from guest relations, made my stay more personal by being very attentitive and the times I saw her she would ask me how my trip and stay were going and was always ready to provide any help or info I would need. Special thanks to Ana!!!.....In general, every staff member from hotel and restaurants I encountered, were very polite, helpful, and attentive....I would recommend this hotel for anyone if you are ever in the area..Great Service!!!More
We went on a tour and stay, first week touring Croatia and second chose Rixos libertas thinking we can't go wrong in a 5 star hotel... We had paid a lot to stay at this hotel b and b... On arrival we were greeted by porters luggage taken off us and we were given a glass of prosecco very helpful friendly Staff Our room was a superior double which was quite big with a a massive king size bed.. Nice furnishment, open plan bathroom which I wasn't keen on Lovely balcony with see view, breakfast was good plenty of choise, lovely areas to sit inside to admire the views My negatives are not many but must say that the pool area was packed tightly with sunbeds just like a tin of sardines.. No room at all you had to be up early to save one but I can't be bothered doing that.. The balcony was big enough to have a couple of sunbeds all there was a small table and 2small chairs The carpet in the corridors were worn which was an eye sore The maid we had was very pleasant and changed all towels every day bed changed once, tea, coffee and milk were replaced. The hotel was about 15min walk from old town which was beautiful but was very expensive and very busy, there was a couple of places we tried for eve meals nearby but they were expensive and not that nice We ate out in lapad 10min on the bus we liked this area it had a pebble beach only thing was they charged £14 a sunbed! So yes rixos is a nice hotel but definitely not 5 star.. We stayed in 5 star on our tour and they were outstanding I would rate rixos a 4 star More
