Hotel Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik
A 100-year-old grand hotel on the doorstep of Dubrovnik’s medieval Old Town.
This stately hotel is just outside Pile Gate, the main entrance to the Old Town. It’s next to the bus station and a two-minute walk to the seafront. It all adds up to great views of the old city and Adriatic beyond.
The grand facade gives way to chic décor inside. An indoor pool, complete with little spa area, jostles for attention with a stylish lounge bar and top-class restaurant.

Revolting, filthy dirty hotel. Black mould, hairs, dirt and dust!
This hotel is in a great location, but is absolutely FILTHY!!! I’m very surprised at the revolting state of the place considering it is a Hilton hotel and is pricey to stay in. In this filthy state, it drags the Hilton name down in to the gutter. We stayed for 4 nights, during which time, I don’t think we once got a completely clean towel. You can see in the photos I have provided - there were towels which were threadbare and had holes in them, towels which had brown revolting bodily fluid looking stains on them, towel with long black hairs on them and towels which had huge black stains all over them. The bathroom had yellow pus like stains on the tiles, long black hairs all over the place and skirting boards and finishings caked in dust. The amenities unit where the tea cups and refreshments are stored was covered in dust and hairs and the mini bar fridge had black mould on it!!! The bed pillow cases, which had supposedly just been changed had yellow bodily fluid looking marks on it with fresh dirty marks too! Housekeeping really is very poor here. It feels like the minimum is done to the room. Dust, dirt and mould accumulation suggests the room hasn’t been cleaned properly in a very long time. How is black mould allow to grow on the fridge door and no-one cares? Breakfast was mediocre. I don’t feel there was a lot of choice, and other options, like waffles, pancakes, omlettes, etc...may be available somewhere, somehow, but none of the staff encountered can be bothered to explain anything to you. Hot food was quite gross, the sausages were inedible, the bacon, swimming in grease and the choices were very limited. One morning, there was a huge breakfast turreen of...diced carrots and bits of asparagus! It was as if they had nothing else to put out, so instead put out stuff left over from dinner. I was extremely sick after eating the breakfast here; very, very sick. And my wife, asking for fried eggs, waited an age for this 30 second item to be cooked, only to find when they eventually arrived that they hadn’t been cooked properly and the white around and including the yolk was still gelatinous. Yes, this hotel can’t even fry an egg! So, the only thing that is going for this place is it’s location to the old city, which is just a 5 minute walk away. If you don’t mind dirty towels and bed linen, other peoples yellow fluids and black mould, then maybe you’ll like it. I personally found it to be revolting. I brought the towels to reception and complained to a manager called Luka who told us he would get things sorted. When we returned, the room had been made but none of the filth had been cleaned or removed. In fact, it was worse as the bed had been made but there were new revolting stains on the supposedly fresh linen. It all suggests a hotel, staff and managent that don’t really care about the customer. They rest on their laurels of being in a desireable location and having the Hilton name. But the Hilton name here is covered in black mould, dirt and somebody elses bodily discharges!More
Wonderful Stay in a colorful city
The Hilton Imperial sits on a hill overlooking the bay and is but a stone’s throw from the old city. For Game of Thrones fans, it’s all within walking distance. The hotel is immaculate, the staff are extremely helpful and kind. Great breakfast buffet on the sunny terrace or inside if you chose. The rooms were spacious and fresh. The only small comment might be the bed making style - the comforter seemed a bit short. But I would return to this hotel in a heartbeat and three nights was hardly enough. Added benefit for drivers - underground parking! Enjoy.More
First Class Stay
We were on a 5 day break to see the Old Town and the Hilton was ideally placed for our visit. Having read a recent review I was wondering if we were staying at the same hotel. We arrived early and our rooms were available so no waiting. Throughout the staff were excellent and the breakfast set us up for the day. Yes the price of drinks were on the high side but that is the same in most hotels . We did make the most of the 50% reduction on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Rooms spacious and quiet. We could not ask for more.More
Some minor annoyances but generally a good experience
The hotel is clean, the beds comfortable, the air conditioning functional, and the staff professional. After all it is a Hilton. There were a few minor annoyances. The shower head was weak and too small for a decent shower. The cupboard had coat hooks but nowhere to put folded clothes. The breakfast was lacking with poor tasting coffee, no option of a boiled egg and unvaried. Not that it affected me, but I kept on thinking how someone in a wheelchair could have accessed anything but the ground floor. They say you are nothing on an airline without being in a loyalty scheme. I disliked the way this was the case at the Hilton also as when you pay through the nose for a five star hotel I expect to be made to feel special whatever. So at the checkin I was told that I could get free WiFi if I joined Hilton Honors and allowed them to spam me. I was told that I would get free WiFI when I booked not free WiFi only if I allowed them to spam me. I am now the recipient of not only Hilton spam but infinite Croatian spam in-spite of having only used the Hilton WiFi. I wish I had used roaming on my phone. However, it was relatively high speed. We paid extra for a sea view. If I had known the geography then I would have understood but I did not. The woman on the central Hilton booking line had no local knowledge either. I have uploaded the picture for you to judge. There was a bit of sea and more if you leaned out of the window but this was not a typical sea view. It was a nice view so I do not understand why it was mis-sold. When I came to pay the bill. I was surprised to see the internet on the bill in-spite of all the discussions at check in. It was removed and generally we found the staff professional and accommodating. In summary, we found the staff excellent. The rooms and public spaces were clean and comfortable but a bit asceptic with institutional annoyances that you might find with an airline. The location was excellent for the old town. If there is a good hotel in a place that happens to be a Hilton, then I might look and see what is next door because I don’t want Hilton privileges but general good services that everyone should expect. However, four star is good from me. Be aware but not completely put off.More
Best Location in Dubrovnik
Just a shirt stroll from the main gate into old town, this property had it all. We stayed for two nights at this property and were family of five spread across two rooms. The rooms were large and very well appointed. The best part about the Hilton was its location. The old town of Dubrovnik is very cute but rather inconvenient to bring luggage into and the accommodations typically up many narrow stairways with literally thousands of people everywhere. The Hilton was like a paradise literally steps from the madness of the old town. When initially planning out trip to Dubrovnik, I was really worried about not getting something in the old town...boy was I glad that we stayed at the Hilton. The breakfast was also excellent and the service in all the bars and executive lounge was also excellent. I wouldn’t hesitate staying there again. More
