Shabby room, abysmal wifi.
Why do hotels offer such pathetic wifi. Don’t management realize how annoying and frustrating it is. Some hotels offer great wifi so why not all. Come on people, get your act together. The traveling tourist needs to make ongoing arrangements and keep business alive whilst on the hoof. When a significant issue in a hotel fails to meet general expectations, it’s often a sign that there are other issues pending. In this hotel, the rooms themselves are definitely pending. The minimal size can’t really be changed but the decor and quality of the fittings certainly can be upgraded. Whilst the shower is very functional, it’s pretty grim visually and the small en-suite really is small although surprisingly it does have a bidet. (does a bidet make everything right?). The surrounding plumbing from adjoining rooms is quite audible together with migrating smells. Talking of smells, our room stank of cigarette smoke which didn’t really go away even after a couple of air sprays. The small balcony overlooks the sea in the distance but the immediate foreground is scruffy. The outdoor pool is superb and there is also a large indoor pool together with a reasonable gym and spar facilities. The breakfast is consistently quit good with lots of choice and quantity. There a few“ thow shalt not” signs scattered around the food area which is understandable but are perhaps a little stringent. However, having witnessed what some guests get up to, they’re probably well justified. The area is ok, not far from the beach but not in the centre of town. There are restaurants close by. So, if you manage to get this place for a good price, you might survive but don’t pay lots as you’ll be very disappointed. I suspect the original owner who’s photo is in the lobby, will be squirming in his grave. More
A good hotel, for a reasonable price. No complaints but nothing amazing.
3/5 stars. Overall, quite dated & security doesn’t seem great but a good hotel all round & would stay there again! Location: Perfect, minutes from the strip of restaurants / Shops, the Tommy hypermarket & the beach / sea. Staff: 90% polite, friendly & helpful. Just a handful of blunt / rude people but didn’t ruin the visit. Room: very dated but quite clean & fully functional, air conditioning was incredible though. The sea view room would have been nicer but actually the view of the mountains was pleasing. The WiFi (5th floor) wasn’t great. Breakfast: best part, incredible selection of fry up essentials, meats, cheese, fruits, pancakes, omelette station, soft drinks, coffee, breads etc. Served 7am > 10am. Pool: Beautiful & not many kids. Security very relaxed though as anybody could walk in & use.More
Good location, but no 4 star
The hotel is in a great location, close to the beach (pebble beach) but is certainly not a 4 star (possibly was a few years ago), rooms are ok, not huge and with small balcony, and small outdated showers, though the beds are comfy and the pool area is great with indoor pool if outside is too busy. Food is ok, reasonably selection, but not much difference each day (great ice-cream) Not worth the upgraded room price for a sea view, curtains stayed closed to keep heat out and balcony only useful to dry clothes and towels. Aircon works well though and controlled from the room PS, please feed the catsMore
Not for anyone disabled, 2/3 star at best
This is a very dated and tired hotel that needs updating throughout in a fantastic location, the rooms are shabby, the pool is shabby with cracked sharp tiles everywhere, we upgraded to a sea view room with cobwebs everywhere, still there 2 weeks later when we left, cracked and chipped laminate flooring a fridge that did not work, no hanging space for clothes, (but the view is beautiful) The food is the same everyday for breakfast and evening meal but worst of all its freezing cold so don't be surprised if you get a bad belly, the only good thing is the waiting staff, special mention to Marco, if you get to chat with him he is quite funny. £4.00 for a bottle of still water 75ml to go with your evening meal. If you don't like cats stay away there are dozens of them, if you are disabled in any way please stay away, no ramps to the outdoor eating area nor to the pool, outside the hotel it is all gravel full of cat poo. The area around the hotel has plenty of bars and cafes but little entertainment, my husband is disabled and cant walk very far (I don't think they have ever seen a mobility scooter before) some very strange looks. It is a pity about this hotel because it is in a prime and beautiful location but NEVER againMore
Adequate in all respects
We have just spent one week at this hotel. It is in a lovely location - just a short walk away from a pretty shingle beach and a choice of bars and restaurants. The rooms were compact but clean with a very small balcony. Shower was a bit dated but functional. Food at the hotel was ok - nice fresh breakfasts and a good choice of evening meals. We were on half board so had several lunches at the pool bar and these were also quite nice though a bit pricey. Can't help feeling that the hotel are missing a trick by not putting on any evening entertainment as this might have kept more people in the bars - generally they were almost empty so no atmosphere. Staff were ok - some more amenable than others. Certainly think customer relations could do with a bit of work. Overall I would describe the place as adequate but with potential for improvement. I have wanted to go to Croatia for some time and now I have ticked that box I doubt I would return. The main reson for this is the high price of snacks and drinks everywhere - it does not compare favourably with places like Portugal or Tenerife which is where we often go.More
