This exclusive seafront hotel has two beaches to itself, as well as a great pool scene and plenty of chic places to eat.
Set on a rocky cliffside, the Hotel Croatia is a stylish retreat with knock-out views across the Adriatic and the old town of Cavtat. It has two pools and access to two beaches to its name, as well as an elegant spa.
The buffet restaurant serves international dishes and there’s a steakhouse, too. A poolside place specialises in light dishes and a beachside joint offers a seafood menu. And there's a piano bar as well . Cavtat is a 10-minute walk downhill.

The air is filled with the smoky smells of a good barbecue, and the rustic atmosphere will take you back to the days of gun-slingers in the old corral. Classics such as rib-eye steak are on the menu alongside seasonal dishes that are all cooked on the open grill.
The pool is a great size with sun terraces all around, there's even an inlet into the middle of the pool which is great to sunbathe on.

3 night stay after cruise...
We stayed here for 3 nights after our cruise. The hotel itself is stunning, certainly deserves it's stars but unfortunately the rest didn't quite live up to it. The reception staff deserve 5/5. Very friendly & helpful, always greeted you when you saw them. I'd give 4/5 for the chambermaids, they were quite friendly but a few times we'd left towels in the bath to be changed & some of those towels weren't replaced, the coffee & tea replacements were hit & miss, not everything was replaced after we used it which was a pain when it was the milk/cream. 3/5 for the bar staff. They weren't friendly at all. You were made to feel like you were a nuisance when you came up to order drinks, they were quite abrupt to the point of being rude when they spoke to you & could definitely do with some customer service training! The lads at the bar on the cliff were lovely & friendly though. The hotel let itself down by not offering all inclusive, the drinks are very expensive (3 gin & tonics came to about £24!!!) The food was a bit lacklustre & uninspiring. Seemed to be the same thing on offer every night with a few different bits added. I don't think I could've stuck it there for more than a few days with their menu. The waiting staff weren't that friendly or smiley apart from the lovely lady who stood at the door & greeted you as you arrived & left. I didn't catch her name but she always greeted us with a smiley hello & said goodbye when we left. The hotel is situated in a stunning location with plenty to do & see. The outside pool was a bit of a disappointment as most of it is under the shade of trees as there's so many of them around the pool, so unless you're up in the early hours of the morning to get a lounger in the sun, then you may as well forget about it. They could do with cutting back a few of the trees to let more sun in there. We ended up going down to the marina for a sun lounger as there's wall to wall sun down there, plenty of room, a few steps down into crystal clear water for a dip to cool off. You can hire paddle boards, jet skis, kayaks etc at reasonable prices with very friendly & helpful staff. I'd definitely stay in Cavtat again but not sure if I'd stay in this hotel. More

I would definitely recommend this hotel, it’s in a beautiful position looking over the little town of Cavtat, it is on a hill but they have golf buggy’s that run you up & down & they run all day. We loved being down by the sea, plenty of sun loungers & as easy access into the sea via wide steps. You can get a water taxi into Dubrovnik which I would recommend. The food was good especially the snack bar at lunch. The pool area is lovely but the sun loungers are a bit close together, if you like turning your sun loungers this won’t happen unless you get up early to get on the island section where there in two’s. thank you hotel Croatia for a great 2nd week as we did a cruise for the first week..More

Excellent Hotel but no atmosphere
This hotel is in a beautiful location. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are adequate. The rooms with a city view are the best as you overlook the resort which is far prettier than just looking at the sea. The classic rooms are looking out on a hill so they are quite dark even first thing in the morning. The staff are pleasant but not over friendly apart from the odd ones. There is a spa and two swimming pools. The outside pool is not heated and has salt water which is quite strong and cold. The hotel is in aches of grounds including woodlands which you can walk through down to the stone beach. There is also a nudist beach at the hotel. There is no beach with sand most of the places at the hotel and resort is just rocks to lie on. The thing that let the hotel down in my opinion was the lack of entertainment. There was no presence of any entertainers around the pool and no background music. I appreciate that not everyone likes entertainment but most hotels have some kind of entertainment somewhere within their grounds. At night there was a couple of bands but that was just a singer reading the words from sitting on a stool no interaction with the audience. It was the world cup while we were there and although they have TVs dotted around the place they are not signposted. The drinks are expensive at the hotel so we went to the resort each evening. There is a free buggy service that takes you down to the resort but again the hotel could improve on this by putting a seat in the resort and a signpost to inform visitors that is where to catch the buggy. We also had to ring each time we wanted it as it doesn't just go down to see if anyone wants to be picked up. Overall I would recommend this hotel for its location and 5 star facilities but a bit more consideration of what tourists need would improve the experience.More
3 day Short stay
Pros: Lovely hotel ,great rooms staff friendly great sea views plenty sun beds /towels indoor and outdoor pools cons :charge for water at dinner 30 kuna ,very hilly so use the buggies provided well worth it ,buffet food not the best but that may be personal (just finished a cruise with excellent food)More
Lovely part of the world and very nice hotel
Won't repeat everything good that has already been published. We loved the hotel but agree the food was lacklustre and imaginative. I think part of the problem was that the hotel didn't do "theme" or "gala" nights and didn't present the food in a decorative or imaginative way do every evening was exactly the same. We were very pleased with our room which was 453 on the 4th floor. I've attached a photo which shows our spectacular view. Sea from all angles and no trees obscuring the view at all. We were lucky to get this room as some guests weren't as happy with their's. I did feel storage was a bit limited but that's my only gripe. The hotel is pretty expensive and drinks are not cheap. As such, we only had a bottle of water with our evening meal. Wine was over-priced. A bottle of the same wine they were selling was only 46 kunas at the supermarket. As has been pointed out, the area is stunningly beautiful but very steep and not really suitable for people with disabilities. We would definitely return but probably on a B&B basis next time as this would give us more variety and be better value for money.More
