It’s the setting people like about this hotel – great views and a peaceful atmosphere come as standard.
The views always impress here. The hotel is in a wide bay, next to pebbly Albatros Beach. So from most rooms you can see cobalt water, a scattering of islands, and Dubrovnik in the distance.
Cavtat’s postcard-worthy old town is about a 15-minute walk. And on the days you’re staying put, there are indoor and outdoor pools, plenty of sports and a couple of great places to eat.

Myself and my husband have recently returned from a weeks stay at Hotel Albatros which was to celebrate our wedding anniversary. First impressions count in my opinion and when the mini bus dropped us off my heart sank! Not a great first impression and does not look welcoming with a huge concrete wall in front of hotel which looked grim!. On entering the hotel it seemed very dark in reception and there were suitacases piled up everywhere for people who were leaving later that day and also of some people waiting to check in but rooms were not ready for them! Luckily our was ready straight away which we were pleased about as we had been up early and wanted to get settled. We were sent to our room on the 2nd floor which was of a good size with an average sized balcony with a side sea view which was pleasant, the room was as picture shows on internet and we were happy with it but we felt the rest of the hotel felt a bit too clinical and hospital like and not very welcoming. We ate in restaurant only twice during our stay at night even though we were all inclusive as it felt like a canteen and was over crowded, very hot and waiters kept shutting the doors because cats kept getting in, tables were never set ready you had to help yourself to cutlery or ask a waiter to clean table so you could sit to eat and then everyone was queuing for meat in the evening or for eggs at breakfast, and the toaster! Well beyond belief how slow! The restaurant\canteen was not a pleasurable experience which is what you look forward to on holiday so we ate out most nights in Cavtat where there are lots of lovely restaurants but we shouldn’t of had to do this being all inclusive. Pool area is ok, lots of sun beds but the snack bar and bar area by pool terrible! The cakes in the afternoon ...shocking! And sugar spilt all by coffee machine not cleaned up wasps everywhere and no staff even attempting to clean it up! Where the burgers and hot dogs were cooked the chef was witnessed by husband and another resident they picked food up ...chicken..with bare hands no gloves and touched other food after and there was bits of salad etc all over the counters in my husbands words it was a right mess! Needless to say I didn’t eat anything from there again. The location of hotel is a plus... just a short walk into Cavtat and what a lovely picturesque walk it was... but thankfully it wasn’t far as we went most nights for our evening meal and sometimes for breakfast as canteen/restaurant too noisy, busy and hot just not pleasant experience at all. Would I recommend this hotel or return?.. in a nut shell no ....but will definitely return to Croatia one day, we did have a fantastic holiday making lots of memories meeting lots of lovely people in a beautiful country but this website is to review hotels and this one has some major changes to be made to get a return visit from us.More
Not 4 star
Stayed last week in September hotel very clean we stayed in room 426 excellent views only problem our bathroom regularly stunk of sewage we didn’t complain as we liked the view cleaning staff friendly and hardworking, hotel has a great location short walk in to Cavtat which has a lovely harbour, found the restaurant and bar staff the most miserable we have come across with the exception of Katrina who always had a smile the entertainment team very hardworking friendly always had time to chat, the biggest let down was the food and canteen first time had to clear a table and set with cutlery you don’t expect to in a 4 star hotel found the all inclusive drinks very poor even saw people on all inclusive paying for drinks, the noise in the dining room was just like a works or school canteen no enjoyment whatsoever snack bar and pool bar terribleMore

Doesn't deserve its 4 star status
The hotel itself is nice, although I still didn't understand its layout (especially the restaurant) in the 3 nights I stayed there. The food is very average, especially for a 4-star. And the Reception manager didn't even bother to look for an alternative when I asked about my room. My tour leader said he'd asked for rooms with sea view, but I had a view of the tennis court. I didn't want to get involved in the details of who was to blame, it just would have been nice if she had even pretended to be interested, and to look for a solution, or even a compromise. I had also asked for the most convenient/closest room to the restaurant and lifts, but it was quite far from both (and I couldn't find a lift to the restaurant which was downstairs from the reception). The toilet seat was broken on one side and only one side of the double flush worked.More
Clean and beautiful views
Have just returned from this hotel. Arrived in the dark so didn't see the front of the hotel. When arriving in our sea view room it was large with good shower room, was clean and had plenty of space for clothes. Free safe in the wardrobe. On waking the following morning and going out to the balcony was greeted by an amazing view over the pool area and looking into the bay. Food was mainly based around fish and salads. Restaurant was more like a school canteen with some of the staff being helpful and friendly but far from all. Plenty of room around the pool area but pool was very cold. Snack bar a bit hit and miss with staff very unhelpful. Don't expect diet drinks there they don't seem to exist at all. Easy walk into Cavtat flat walk taking about 15 mins. Excellent service to Dubrovnik from the jetty in front of the hotel would recommend this option. More
Nice hotel, beautiful location but awful food
The hotel has undergone a refurbishment, and looks nice if not very well lit. The balsa wood albatrosses hanging from the ceilings take this towards the tacky end of the spectrum. The hotel is clean and well kept, and we have seen no evidence of the surly staff referenced in other reviews. Any who are must be being forced to eat at the hotel, as without doubt it is truly awful and by far the worst we have ever experienced. The layout is chaotic and reminiscent of a school canteen, but without the accompanying quality of food. There appears to be no menu, not even any thought to what is on offer. Onion rings and fish fingers for breakfast are typucal, and there are little or no staples or vegetables just a random selection of cheap, lukewarm meat and awful fish. It is chaos, an example being this evening when the smoke alarms were set of 4 times because the chefs were incapable of cooking a sausage without smoking out the entire area. We are dreading meal times as it is so poor, and really detracts from the hotel itself. Common descriptions of the fare on offer include gruel, slop and worse. The hotel has 4 stars, but this cannot be for the food on offer. The hotel management need to address this, maybe trying what is on offer for themselves would be a start. Sorry, but just couldnt and wouldnt recommend this to anyone.More
