It’s the setting people like about this hotel – great views and a peaceful atmosphere come as standard.
The views always impress here. The hotel is in a wide bay, next to pebbly Albatros Beach. So from most rooms you can see cobalt water, a scattering of islands, and Dubrovnik in the distance.
Cavtat’s postcard-worthy old town is about a 15-minute walk. And on the days you’re staying put, there are indoor and outdoor pools, plenty of sports and a couple of great places to eat.

What a wonderful hotel, spotlessly clean, staff were very friendly location was great just a 15 minute walk into Cavtat. Pool area was lovely plenty of sun beds would diffently recommend this hotel to everone.More
Good hotel with some issues
We stayed here for a week in June. It has been recently refurbished and the rooms are clean and bright with good balconies, which have lovely views. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, as were the entertainment staff. The pool area is large with plenty of sunbeds. However we did not enjoy the restaurants and bars. The mostly young waiting staff needed someone in charge to organise them. We often had to set our own table, finding our cutlery etc. The restaurant was very noisy and we tended to sit outside which was more peaceful, but it was harder to attract a waiter's attention to get a drink. There was a good variety of food of average quality. The soft drinks and wine were poor and getting a bottle of water out of restaurant hours was an issue for all inclusive customers. We were in block A, which has a ramp to the lifts. Cavtat is a beautiful town with fantastic sunsets. We would return to this area but probably not to this hotel.More
Hotel with no soul
Hotel just been newly refurbished, rooms clean, food good, however if you are a coffee drinker take your own what the hotel dish up can best be described as stagnant pond water and is undrinkable I kid you not. Stayed for a week in June loved the country in fact fell in love with it BUT something missing in this hotel hard at first to realise what it was. Spoke to another guest who felt the same then had a lightbulb moment this hotel has absolutely no soul. If you are elderly or disabled could be a big problem as there is a flight of steps to get to the lift, you have to walk a long way to get anywhere whether reception the dining room or out side facilities lots of empty pointless spaces with no practical use making the atmosphere at best cold. Don’t let this put you off going to Croatia it is beautiful.More
We returned from Croatia last week. What a fantastic time we had. I really feel that some of the comments regarding the Hotel Albatros are quite unfounded. Nip picking springs to mind. Luke warm food, hm, there were hot plates if you wanted them and if there was anything unsuitable for your palette there was plenty of other choice. Wine was plentiful and very acceptable and the coffee, well I have had a lot worse and really wouldn't consider it undrinkable. Yep the older barman was a bit grumpy but I certainly wouldn't let that stop me going to get what I wanted. He just didn't know how to smile !! The rest of the staff were just so welcoming. The whole area around the hotel and Cavtat were charming and the wander into the town really wasn't a problem because it was so picturesque. All in all we had a fabulous time and a few comments from other travellers on the return transfer who stayed elsewhere, made me realise that we had made the right choice. Would have no hesitation in returning to The Albatros.More
Average Hotel Stay
This hotel is in a great location with wonderful views, however this is where the wow factor stops. Requested an upper floor room and was given a suite with wonderful views over the sea. The bed, pillows & Air con were fine. The food was just average for an AI hotel. Breakfast we fine with plenty of choice. However Lunch and dinner were both in the same buffet restaurant. Yes there were never any tables set, however the staff would make one up immediately upon request & yes they were large tables, however they left blank places between guests so not an issue. Often the food was only luke warm and it was removed exactly on closure time. Finishing Lunch by 14:00 & Dinner by 21:00 is too early for us. There were plenty of sun beads around the pool, however the pool was often unusable as it was not heated and was too cold to swim in. The biggest issue for me was the Drinks offer, as a diabetic it is totally unacceptable not to have sugar free options available in the pool bar, I could have water or sparkling water. Yet in the Restaurant the optics had diet coke! The Wine & beer were fine, however the quality of the soft drinks was poor. Only 2 cocktails were available, one of which was undrinkable. The coffee alas was the same. Generally the staff were fine, however the older chap in the pool bar was miserable every day, to the point it put you off going in and asking for a drink!!! Compared to the big Spanish AI hotels this was leagues behind.More
