The Southern Palms is a pink-painted retreat on a beautiful white-sand beach. You’ve got easy access to St Lawrence’s best bits, too.
The Southern Palms is a candy-pink, colonial-style hotel. It’s tucked among palms and lawns on the outskirts of St Lawrence Gap, just a few minutes’ walk from the nearest wine bars and restaurants.
The hotel is fronted by a belt of powdery white sand, and looks out over the Caribbean Sea.

We had a wonderful time at Southern palms Beach club, myself, my wife Sarah and youngest daughter thought it was perfect, from the moment we got to southern Palms we were greeted with Smiles and professionalism, the hotel was very clean, the staff were very efficient, and friendly, and couldn’t do enough for you. The beach is out of this world, food was lovely, a bit pricey but no more than anywhere else, great entertainment, would definitely return! Special mentions to the staff Rodney, Chad, Wendy, Marcy, Betty, and so many more to list. St Lawerence gap is perfect for those who want night life, but but still quite enough so you can’t hear it from the Hotel. Thankyou again More
Brilliant holiday !
Myself and my partner Paul have just returned from 10 days at the Southern Palms Hotel. What a fantastic time we had. Our room, 219, overlooked the pool and the beach which was just amazing. We had a terrace which I don’t think we ever sat on and a very spacious room with great air con and bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean. The hotel itself was very, very quiet so there wasn’t a rush to get yourself a subbed each day. I think there’s only around 16 beds round the pool but plenty on the beach too. We were on a B&B stay and I think the only ‘fault’ I could give is that the breakfast could be better. There were the usual offerings of bacon, eggs, sausages, beans etc plus fruit, yoghurts, cereals and croissants etc but I think they could really make more of that mealtime. We hardly saw anyone at breakfast and there were very few tables made up which suggested that people opted to eat out. We ate on most days at the hotel for lunch and had one evening meal there too. The food was fantastic ! All freshly cooked and very tasty. The staff were brilliant ..... with a very special thank you to Hazel Anne and Chad ... who made sure our stay was as perfect as could be. Nothing was too much trouble for either of them and they went out of their way to say hello and get you anything you needed. Thanks guys. Paul has been to Barbados 19 times and always stayed at the Rostrevor just up the beach but has said that the SP can’t be beaten and we will be going back. I loved how chilled it was. There wasn’t entertainment on every night but we went out of our way to make sure we were there when the Steel Orchestra played. Absolutely fantastic ! Such talented guys with an incredible sound. To give an overview of our stay ..... HOTEL .... clean, quiet, perfect location but I would say if someone got hold of it and thoroughly modernised it then it would be out of this world given its location etc. FOOD ..... brilliant, fresh, varied lunch and evening menu. LOCATION .... outstanding ! The beach is incredible. Very close to all the bars, restaurants and sights of St Lawrence Gap. ROOM 219 ... spacious, clean, towels changed every day and bed made, small shower with no bath and the best in room hairdryer I’ve ever come across ! ST LAWRENCE GAP ... a great area with fabulous bars and restaurants. We would recommend Sharkeys, Mimosa (saw turtles on the beach trying to come in to lay eggs), Hal’s Car Park Bar for some funny karaoke, Cocktail Kitchen plus many more. Resort is very chilled out and wasn’t mega busy but still plenty to see. Thank you for a great holiday and see you next year xxxMore
The happiest of holidays
We had no experience of the west indies and just took a chance on the fact that we liked the look of the hotel! Wow! Were we right to choose this one! From start to finish it was a delight! The room was superb, the staff wonderful and the holiday perfect! The friendliest hotel we have ever come across, and that is including the General Manager who took pride in her hotel and made all feel that they belonged! I could go on forever but you have to try it for yourself!More

Best in the Gap
There's a lot of world out there to see, so we tend not to revisit. We've made an exception in the case of Southern Palms and have booked to go back later this year. Hotel facilities are very good; staff are friendly and helpful; afternoon tea is an eagerly anticipated ritual and gives a clue as to where many of the guests originate from. What principally sets Southern Palms above its competitors is the location however. Although in the middle of lively St Lawrence Gap, the hotel grounds are a haven of tranquility. There is plenty of space around the pools but the beach is the best. Southern Palms has a long sandy stretch of Dover beach so there is always plenty of room compared to neighbouring establishments. Can't wait to laze in the sun and take a dip in the warm sea with the turtles again!More

Stayed here 25th May to 5th June This was our first visit to the beautiful island of Barbados and we couldn't have picked a better hotel. Its location is superb right on Dover Beach. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and a special mention to Jenny on the front desk who is just brilliant. We stayed in Room 319 overlooking the pool and views of the beach and sea. The room had a large balcony and fridge and kettle (take your own tea coffee and sugar as these are not supplied). The room itself had a large king size bed and great air conditioning and the bathroom was fine with a shower. We had breakfast once and wasnt impressed so went to Happy Days or Sand Dollar cafe, but all other food (lunch and dinner) was delicious. All food is freshly prepared and very filling I can honestly say it is one of the best veggie burgers I have had...my husband loved the bajan fishcakes. We loved our holiday here and would most definitely stay here again.More
