We have stayed at Accra Beach Hotel several times. ( The Pros) The location is great. On Accra beach, shopping, restaurants and groceries all in walking distance. The Hotel is well kept and clean. Most employees we interacted with were friendly and helpful. (The Cons) The Hotel is used as a conference hotel for many local organizations , groups and companies. So if you are a guest picking up a rental car at the airport and driving to the hotel do not expect to get a parking spot. Like me, you will have to drive to Accra beach public parking and walk to the hotel. You can then bring your car in later in the night when all the local conference goers have left. And this happens nearly every day except Sundays. Of all my travels I have never stayed at a hotel where you have to call house keeping to get blankets. The beds just have a light sheet. This was by no means a mistake as we had three rooms and none had blankets. We all had to request blankets as the AC’s work quite well. The hotel has 3 bars. A lobby bar opens around nine a.m , a pool bar that opens at 11:00 a.m and a beach bar that opens at noon. Most people start using the pool and beach around 9:30 am. So if you want a drink before 11:a.m guess where you have to go? The lobby bar! But the kicker is they do not want anyone in wet attire in there. So you have to dry off , put on a shirt and go to the lobby bar. Do people get paid to come up with these policies? I did discuss it with a bar supervisor who agreed it was a dumb policy but said it was an issue for management.More
Great location, Terrible everything else!!
After arriving at this location I instantly feel their expectations fizzle out.. The best thing you will experience here is the Rum punch and that's where the compliments end. This hotel is in dire need of updating..most staff very unconcerned with providing proper service. NO help whatsoever after 2 days of complaining of the Air condition not working in our room even after multiple visits and calls to the front desk..How could my girlfriend and I get a proper night sleep when trapped in a humid dusty hot room???..After two days we checked and went to another hotel and got the Proper Barbados experience we hoped for. Be warned fellow travelers..don't be fooled by the beautiful location and surroundings..there are many other hotels here that would treat you with respect as per our discussions with other tourists. Amenities: Poor Food: Average Service: Poor Price: Too High for this run down motelMore
I have stayed at the Accra several times in the past and enjoy the pool area, bars and the beach. And the location is great - within walking distance or short bus ride to lots of things. I was VERY disappointed this trip however. I had room 211 and it was so run down. The furniture was falling apart, totally rusted lights and it looked out over a roof with trash and tiles missing. This resort has generally gone down hill and it is sad to see. Paul in the bar area was great and tried to do his best to make up for my disappointment with great customer service. I did hear there would be renovations within the year - so that is good to hear. Ask for an upgraded room or one in the newer wing if you stay here. I love this resort and hope they spend some money to update it soon. The weekly BBQ is excellent!!! And I like the 2 different happy hour times.More
Nice place to stay
It was my first time staying here but my friends third time. We came down for a girl's trip. The resort was very nice but I found it to be on the smaller side with only a few activities. To be fair, I am use to huge all inclusive resorts. The beach was lovely and it was nice to just point to a perfect spot on the beach and have them place your beach chair and umbrella. The beach staff at times were moody and don't give off that welcome to paradise vibe you get from other resorts. I felt like I was bothering them. The room was comfortable and well kept. It is a great place if you are going to leave the resort and explore the island and enjoy different restaurants and activities. The location was convenient for that and it was easy to get a cab. There was a general store across the street where I would purchase water and food for the beach at reasonable prices. There is a spa onsite where you can use the jacuzzi for a half an hour per day for free that is not advertised. There are happy hour specials at the bars but be sure to get there early to beat the crowd. I would return for a visit.More

Pacifica Restaurant at Accra Beach Hotel
While I do not usually eat at hotels in Barbados, I make the exception at Accra Beach Hotel. Pacifica restaurant is my favorite Saturday night routine. Saturday nights they have a Thai buffet that is amazing. The price is also amazing value. The flavors are distinct and very appetizing. I really recommend that you try this on a Saturday night. Seaweed salad, Thai slaw in peanut dressing, fried rice, curry, sushi. Just try it, you will not be disappointed.More
