About us

What's special about us?

We're a relatively small company specifically adapted to working well with very large organisations. We take the business of being small seriously. There are only 21 people that work here. There will never be more than 25. We have an open office where project managers, designers and developers are seated together to integrate the design process. On every level we successfully combine technical design with graphic design. We are simultaneously technical and creative - which by the way is how our logo came about - it's simultaneously a duck and a rabbit - cute eh? (Which do you see and can you ever see both at the same time?)

Speed

We are refreshingly direct in the way we go about work. We try to cut back on bureaucracy and cut-out meetings about meetings. We do this because we know the value of speed. Speed of reaction and development are vital, not just for time to market but also to squeeze the best out of design. Even while we fight bloat we are careful to provide accurate project management that guides our process and documents decisions. We have a mature and experienced attitude to development and provide unmediated access to the people actually doing the work. It's our goal to cover ground with ruthless efficiency. That's what excites and interests us and that's why we have loyal repeat business from our clients. We always seek long-term relationships.

What we do

Tui is a professional creative business that's a joy to work with. Our core activity is interaction design and implementation; it's about visualising and realising ideas. The scope of our work is very extensive and runs from blue-sky projects to complete developments. We are always flexible in our approach. We are design led and platform agnostic. We are certified Reddot and Immediacy developers, part of the Microsoft developers programme as well as having core expertise in PHP especially Symfony and Drupal. We do a considerable amount of development in Flash and Flash Lite. It's easy to get a feel for the kinds of projects we are involved in.

The backbone of what we do is web development using web technologies, but that is an increasingly broad definition and encompasses a great deal of mobile development, IPTV development, web-related applications and tools such as email tools and interactive brand management tools.

People

People use software - it isn't invisible or immaterial - it's always made manifest - so we always think about the user experience. Some of our tools and processes for doing this include: accessibility auditing; card sorting; competitor analysis; expert review; eye tracking; focus groups; Information Architecture and user testing. They are all ways to help us think about design solutions from a user's perspective. This can sometimes challenge our clients since customer expectations and business needs don't always marry - providing strategic creative direction to address these issues and gaps is part and parcel of what we do. We are user-focused and business oriented.
